I screwed over my midterm for COM 203... Sighing, but that won't help either. So now I shall concentrate on HS 101. If not, my life's over.

Recess week is next week, but I'm not feeling any less pressured since there're projects and homework and all that annoying little things you need to do to survive uni. I want to stay home the whole of next week, but I have bleeding Boggle and Scrabble practice on Wednesday. Can I just skip it? I really want to stay home because I'm feeling all homesick for my room and TV again. And now that we can eat in daylight again, home's looking all the more attractive.

Oh yea, Happy Hari Raya everyone! I missed Hari Raya last year due to A levels, so this year I decided to go out with my family on Sunday and Monday, even though I had an unfinished presentation and homework, and tests coming. How fun. Came back to my hostel at 12m.n Tuesday morning, and started studying after a 20 minute nap. Slept at 4.45am, woke up at 7.45am, and went for lectures and the whole shizz. Felt so much like JC again. Cramming - is there any other way?

Gonna cram for HS 101 tonight and tomorrow night. But somehow doing readings isn't working for me. =( I should just go back to JC...

did i mention the chalet was super fun?
haha
thought i'd go feeling depressed and all, but turns out my willpower was strong enough to turn my mood around
cycling a few times, karaoke-ing the whole day and night, barbeque food- all great
but the best part was when 6 of us girl cousins went out near midnight to changi airport's swensen's for an ice-cream treat- in a beemer!
haha it wasn't any of ours - my aunt's, in fact, but it felt liberating all the same
i had to contribute $17 to the cause, but waddaheck

got back on monday morning at 2 am
and later that day went out with my sis, mum, aunt and an ustazah (female religious teacher)
to go look for the eclipse
we thought we'd missed it while having lunch after the "esq" "meeting"
but it was there all along
i knew the sun looked little weird... i just didn't guess it was the eclipse
gosh i'm so blur!
(okay, i'm not so certain many will understand what i've just typed, but today's my lazy-post day, so i'm not up to explaining)

and tuesday was exceptionally fun!
my girl cousins and i (this time from my dad's side of the family) went to this cafe called the minds cafe on prinsep street, where you pay to play the hundreds of board games they have
and on tuesdays is happy hour where you pay $5 for games and unlimited free flow of drinks
doesn't apply on public holidays though, unfortunately for us
but it was fun (have i said that already?)!
there's this one game in particular called Quelf, that gets people to do all kinds of crazy fun things
which produced oodles of laughter

Amai, Me, and Diyanah

All six of us: Kak Mas, Nadhirah, Siti, Sabrina, Afiah, Amalina, Me, Diyanah

The only bad thing was the gst, which totalled up to $10 from the $61 we were supposed to pay
(??? so much?!)
And then it was back to our grandmother's place for some family meeting and gathering...

Today was gym day!
Pat and I went around causeway point first to buy some things, even though our bad karma made it harder... and i know who to blame! grr
then we met Dan at lot 1 to go to the cck gym

light-headed and legs trembling just barely, we had a long john's lunch
and went home...

so that was the past few days in a nutshell
end of my lazy-post ;)

I haven't really been online in what seems like a very very very long time. I've been rather preoccupied with other more interesting things. Why don't I start with last Thursday?

== Thursday ==

Thursday was the day two of my cousins who are visiting from Ozzieland stayed over at my place, as well as the day Pat and I went cycling at East Coast (again, I know haha). I'm sure I don't have to reiterate which sport is the world's greatest, so I'll just skip that part. It was fun as usual, and we cycled uphill that time, so we got more of a work-out.

Then I got a lift from Pat to Eunos Station in her cab as she was heading to Paragon, so I could get to my grandparents' place. I hung out with my two cousins Siti and Amalina while waiting for my parents to fetch us, and together got hooked on the sci-fi series Kyle XY. I swear, this is the funniest sci-fi show I've watched in a long time, only because Kyle, this inexperienced super-human, has no memory even though he's really smart, and his learning journey in the outside world reveals so much humour in the little things we take so seriously everyday. I used to think the show was silly, only because I thought Kyle looked weird. But he seems acceptable now that I know why he's weird. Haha.

We had dinner at PIzzahut, shopped at Cold Storage for a while, amd watched American Idol and a movie or two into the night. Then it was bedtime.

== Friday ==

My sister took an MC on this day. How coincidental and fortuitous (I remember how much the K loved using this word on us) that she became free to hang out with us on this day! We just lazed around in the morning: watched a movie (Yes, another one! You'd be surprised how many movies we watched before the end of their stay!), lunch at the KFC across the road, and then accompanying the sick invalid to the polyclinic for an MC. We spent the rest of the afternoon doing god-knows-what (really, I don't remember), and then it was off to the Singapore Night Safari at 7.30! Finally! 18 years in Singapore, and only now do I get to experience this tourist trap! At $32 per pop, it's expensive, but still fun. We took a tram ride, and waved at passing employees, before ending our visit at the animal show which was a bagful of laughter. You gotta love them otters! Dinner was at Woodlands Old Town, before another round of movies and then sleepytime.

== Saturday ==

Another lazy morning, watching American Mall in the morning before even showering, and by the time we did, it was lunchtime. We had spaghetti, yumm, and then we went to Plaza Singapura to watch the Haunting of Molly Hartley. It was an okay horror film, with cheap tricks to shock people, like a crow flying by suddenly, but I did scream once. A low, barely audible scream, but a scream nonetheless. Time waiting for my parents to pick us up was spent exploring Spotlight and "Made with love", that scrapbooking store, where we bought knitting materials and buttons and ribbons and stamps. It's so much fun to waste money! Hahaha. The rest of the night was spent teaching Siti how to knit and watching yet another movie (8 Mile, this time).

Shite, I fell asleep before my Arsenal match began! And they won 3-1 this time round, too! Shite luck...

== Sunday ==

Yup, you guessed it, a lazy morning. We watched episodes of Kyle XY online at projectfree.tv, which is a superbly simple website to use, I wonder how I never found it before Amai introduced it to me. My cousins had to return to my grandparents' house though, and the whole extended family congregated there just because. No reason.

== Monday ==

My first real free morning, which seemed nonexistent to me because I woke up at the ungodly hour of 1 pm only because I had nothing else to do. I spent the rest of the day doing nothing productive, and instead watched Kyle XY on the internet. That's all worth typing.

== Tuesday ==
I went with Pat to East Coast again, for a nice walk on the literally abandoned beachfront. The sky was blue, sun blazing, sea gently lapping a turqouise memory on the dazzlingly pearl white sand... (my bad attempt at poetic words) It really looked like we were on a beach in Bali or some other beach paradise, considering ow clean and perfect the beach looked. We walked all the way to the East Coast Food Centre, where there were sandcastles built nearby. Not all were finished, but the ones already in existence made for beautiful shots.

We had a roam around PP (Parkway Parade, for the uninitiated), trying to decide what to eat, before settling on Burger King. Pat left for work not long after, while I went back home to iron clothes for money, being the money-grubbing bum I am.

== Wednesday ==

Bugis-trawling with my two cousins again, while everyone else is at school. We reached Bugis around 11, so not all stalls at Bugis Street were open. But the lack of a crowd meant that we were okay with that. We walked to OG, mainly for the air-conditioning, and excitedly went up to the toys section. We spent about half an hour, all of us in our teens (although they look young, my cousins) sitting at this tiny table fiddling with Lego pieces. I built a house! Yess! Pwnage! And it would look exactly like the picture on the box if not for the lack of blue pieces. Darn.

Playing silly games at the arcade while everyone else is in school is mega fun! We played the basketball game, and car racing, and Super Mario racing, and failed at something like Guitar Hero because the machine was wonky. Lunch was my parents treat, when they picked us up at Bugis Junction and drove us over to Mustafa Centre where we had Indian cuisine and a romp around the department store. Then they drove us back to Bugis so we could catch my fourth viewing of Twilight. My cousin offered to pay for my ticket, which was why I went. I swear! Four times is more than enough, let me tell you. I felt restless because I knew the lines and what was going to happen. The fun was only at laughing at the acting and the music (by R.Pat, of course) and the cheesy lines. Best of all was spotting the goofs, like Emmett chewing! That is so funny!

We were having dessert at Macdonald's, when I spotted two familiar heads across the square at Starbucks. Lo and behold it was Rachel and Jeremy! I had a little chat with them before returning to my cousins, but they remind me of the one reason I miss SAJC: the people (some anyways).

== Thursday == /Today

I had to wake up early again today, because my cousins' family nicely invited me along to Johor. Again, the reiteration that doing anything outdoors on a school morning is fun because nobody's around! Three shopping malls in one day, Baskin' Robbins ice-cream treat, and we watched Inkheart which was a nice family fantasy movie. Lunch was Nando's Chicken, which was super mega tasty because I ordered the Extra Hot flavours. But I didn't sweat. How disappointing.
We came back to my place bearing doughnuts and Secret Recipe cakes, and then they went home. (I got myself a Maybelline smooth shadow pencil in gold, which looks cool! Now, if only I could find white eye liner...)

So that has been the week in the longest brief recap I've ever typed. I feel awfully guilty for not working, and pledge to find a night-shift part-time job starting next week. This week, though, belongs to family, cos I'll be spending time almost everyday with them until Monday.

I hope I'll see my other friends soon though! Good night!

p.s. long overdue pictures of Pat and I when we watched Twilight for what was supposed to be my third and last time.

Edward and me!

what a rollercoaster week it was!

I wore something "traditional" to school on monday for racial harmony day. Pat and i were so scared of being late (and with great reason; it was 7.40 when we rolled in), that we told the cab driver to stop at the little "alley" before the foyer and sneaked into school. In the end, though, turned out that nobody was prowling at the foyer anyways.

Not that many people wore costumes, which weirded me out at first, but i grew comfy soon enough. About eight people in class wore costumes (nine if you plus dan!); a HUGE number, if you compare us to other classes
=)

Pat wore a yukata! which nobody else in school wore - a pretty red flowered one. Rachel wore a punjabi pant suit, i think. Neha wore a chinese-looking top, as did Nadrah, who also brought malay costumes for Debbie, Victoria and Cheryl. (and Dan went irish in her clover jacket!)

Metold the dad to pick me up so i wouldn't have to be seen in public wearing what i did (which was why i cabbed to school in the first place), but he told me to meet him in bugis instead, defeating the purpose entirely. so there i was, walking around bugis in shiny satiny material on a school day. people stared, but whatever. cos they're just jealous
sez'me

Thursday was my pms day, the worst in eighteen years (six, if you want to be technical about it). Chain of events:
cried in the morning over the holocaust
felt fine at breakfast
was super spitting mad at randhir
beat up jeremy before pe
and cried right after pe
and then met steph who came for dance
and had some happy tea (or soyabean milk)
depressed by the time tuition rolled about

all that was pms in a nutshell. but but but! then i got my arsenal jacket and bottle, which i realized had arrived only after i'd finished showering at home. yay yay yay super yay! only took a week for the order to come! way to go arsenal shopping! and so, i was immensely delirious at the end of the night, and went to sleep with a smile still plastered across my face (which is creepy if you think about it, but who cares? i've got arsenal!)

I wore the beautiful piece of arsenal merchandise almost the entire day in school, and while visiting keed in the hospital, and on the way home. I just kept looking for a reason to keep it on, as well as to drink water from my pink arsenal bottle.
loves arsenal!

fabregas wearing the jacket that now i too have!

and my pink bottle!

I must say, that despite feeling a bit uncomfortable at first (as one is wont to feel while in a hospital, facing a friend who was still feeling dizzy and nausea and pain from the operation), visiting keed turned out to be kinda fun! we just stood around and chatted with the rock, after giving him the goodies pat and i shopped around hdb hub for, before heading upstairs for a bit of a visit with dan's mum, and then coming back down to see keed again.

of course, fina just had to create another episode to add to the teh ping and bandung chronicles - this time, with the reflection of a sandwich dispensing machine. uggh, i'm so disgustingly embarrassing to myself! although, i was able to share the honour of hosting another embarrassing episode involving a man, mt alvernia hospital, and a bright yellow sign with pat. so i wasn't alone - mwa-hahaha!

p.s. i'm just trying out a new system of posting in full sentences and in actual paragraphs. just wanted to feel a leetle teeny weeny bit grown up right now at three in the morning. not succeeding.
