oh no! i realised that i can't play youtube videos on my blog!
what bad luck!!!!

have been going out, house to house,
non-stop the past two days, and am going out today again
so many relatives, so little time
luckily hari raya lasts a month
(which is ironic, since "hari raya" means day of celebration, not month)

SELAMAT HARI RAYA, all =)

so i've finished cleaning up my whole room:
swept, vaccuumed twice, mopped, wiped the windows, changed the curtains, rearranged everything...

and, as promised, the pics of the marble "rainbow" cake:

before baking...
...after bakingyum!
hehe
not exactly like the butterscotch ice-cream,
but at least the colours are about the same
and it is better looking than conventional chocolate-and-beige coloured cakes
so i'm satisfied
besides, alot of my sweat and tears went into making baking that cake
(not literally- i hope)
hahah

ouhh!!! check out cesc's soulful eyes!!
so a-d-o-rable!!
hahah

finandfab:P

p.s. oh dear, i think i may be obssessed with cesc...
help!

hahahahah
was searching for the kiss that took place between xabi alonso and steven gerrard:

did you notice that xabi then licks steve's ear?
kinky
hahah

...and i found this funny thing:

steve falls just when xabi coughs, and says, "i hope that's not on the telly"
hahah
so cute
if they were gay, they'd be such a cute couple
but i think they're just very good friends

okay then, gd night =)

p.s. omg, i realise liverpool is the bpl team with the most noticeable number of attractive men (gerrard, alonso, finnan, torres), while spain, to me now, at least, has the national team with the most number of hotties (fabregas<3,>, etc)
*swoons!*

tried to watch the fabregas compilation on youtube in school today, while trying to wile away the time left of my history period...

... but the computer in school was waaaaay slow
so i'm watching it now

fabregas is just so adorable
hahah
when (not if ;)) i marry him, i'll make sure he's clean shaven all the time - he looks cuter that way
hehehe

"he's a little genius today; he's like a little magician"
hahah
i do object to the use of "little" though
(altho he was the youngest in the team then...)

the video doesn't just show fabregas' fabulous passes
it shows some of his mistakes too
after all, it is human to err
and what a hot human he is too
wakakaka

hmm, i just cut open the marble cake that i baked yesterday night
in colours blue, pink and yellow, reminiscent of mat kool butterscotch ice-cream - yay!!!
and the cake looks so pretty

but it was such a bitch to make it yesterday
my mother said it's be better to use the older, more complicated recipe
because the easier one, where we just dump everything in one mixer, produces cakes that sag in the middle
this one - aah, in this recipe, you beat the butter in one mixer, then the eggs and other stuff in another, and after that the butter mixed with the eggs using a different type of mixer
so bleeding complicated
but it looks so pretty!
i'll post pictures the next post

okay then,
tonight will be the last of terawih prayers
then i'll make more meringues, in pink and blue this time (i hope)
then off to bed!

ok, good night=)

this morning, i had about 6 pieces of meringue...

... and nearly got a sore throat

hahah
finally, the pics:right after i finished piping out the concoction into the paper cups. before sprinkles...

... and after sprinkles!

in the oven, waiting to bake

i had some mat kool butterscotch ice-cream while waiting for them to cook

two sccops, with sprinkles, in my honey stars bowl!

i left a little surprise in the meringue; one piece of trix cereal, just for fun =)

hahah
i like the taste of meringue, but seriously, it takes too much energy to cook
you have to beat the eggs and sugar and cream of tartar at high speed for like, 10 minutes,
then let it bake at 105 degrees celsius for 1 and 1/2 hours, and then at 80 degrees celsius for a few hours

hours of baking, anyone?
hahah
it is truly, very, sweet, being made from only eggs and sugar
and you can smell the egg white quite strongly
and if left out for too long, it becomes soft and chewy
(which i accidentally did, because i forgot to keep them in the container. woops!)
then you have to re-bake it to make it dry again
then it's appearance takes on more of a crumbly, less creamy look

*sighs*
the batch i made didn't even skim a hundred pieces
have to make some more tonight...
and i have to go to school tomorrow
ouh! woe is me

and that pw sh*t...
by 11 tonight
I HATE PW!!! god help me, do i hate pw

okay then
have to help my mum prepare the breaking-fast meal

fin-eringue

(potatoes again? sunday we had fisherman's pie, yesterday shepherd's pie, both with potatoe-tops, and potatoes today, again?!!)

Monday, October 08, 2007

oops, it was toure, not eboue who nearly scored...
hahah, sorry

but yesterday's match... did you see where hleb got hurt?
down there, his family jewels
then he had to sit at the side of the field, with the medic holding ice to his nether regions
hahah
poor guy
how many times does he need to get injured this season?
he really does look like a nice guy, you know
the kind of soft-spoken, quiet-type character

hmm...
meringues!

arsenal beat sunderland
3-2
but, boy, was it an exciting game!
kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time
i felt, in the words of the football analyst, "both mentally and physically exhausted"
hahah

oh my word,
the almost goals by diaby, eboue, walcott
and sunderland equalising 2-2 by the end of the first half

of course, if arsenal isn't leading the game, they usually score around the 80th minute...
but what a game!

hahah
anyways,
happy birthday to all the october babies, and thereabouts,
including nessa, diana, gilberto silva (31st) and voronin (34th)

man, are the latter two old or what?
especially gilberto, where, in arsenal, the average age of the players is about 21 or so
hahah

tmr is meringue day!
unless we go off to buy my raya shoes
sorry steph, dan, for pangseh-ing you guys

good night!
fina-colada

p.s. i dreamt that i, using a machine gun, shot this guy that i think i liked but was in the enemy army! and that i was chased by this crazy dude with a huge knife with a 30cm blade, and he very nearly got to slash my face! at the bpghs campus! what strange dreams...

Saturday, October 06, 2007

so my facial experience left me with experiences both good and bad

relaxing:
the masks

painful: diamond peeling> using a vaccuum-like machine to suck dirt off my face (every strokefelt like sandpaper)
the digging out of whiteheads and blackheads out of my pores (they used this ear-digging-type instrument; so painful that tears flowed)

at least afterwards, my face felt so much cleaner
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

anyways, i've finally bought mitch albom's for one more day
13 pages left; really sad
shed a few tears even before reaching the half-way mark

thursday: after the nonentity maths paper, went home to catch some shut-eye
then met up with steph and dan late because of the shut-eye, after steph's facial
saw rachel, neha and their friend
had a look-see at borders
didn't get to de-virginise my new atm card there :(...
all the normal stuff, y'know
except i saw bounce up! at borders!
(for the uninitiated, bounce up was the name for my sec 3/4 infatuation, dubbed bounce up for the sport he played - volleyball [ball bouncing up? geddit?])
hmmm...

then,
we ate ramenten! yay!
finally, some halal sushi in singapore
we also met steph's au naturale gray-eyed malay friend
so cool!
and then off to ngee ann city...

...where i bought an arsenal fc magazine!
my word, it was a bleeding $16 dollars
but worth it, i think, for the best, most stylish club in the world ;)
lost of pictures of fabregas in it, anyways
hehe

and then at the better toy shop, i bought this music-box
you can see how it works - little dots sticking out of a metal sheet pushes these small strips of metal to create a sound
i've been playing it non-stop for the past three days
before bed, after waking up, after my shwoer, before reading... you get the picture

and today, i've been making pineapple tarts
real ugly, but they're all the same once you pop them in your mouth

...

my brother told me that at his camp,
8 out of 10 of the malay boys don't fast!
in the morning, for the pre-dawn meal, only my brother and another boy ate
the others take lunch
lunch?! are you kidding me?!
i was super-shocked... and disgusted
they don't fast, don't respect the month of ramadan, and usually they're the ones who celebrate hari-raya the most
hmmph; the nerve of people nowadays...

okay, that's it
because of the persistent hounding of my siblings, i have to end here
till next time then

fina-colada ;)

yess!!! my last paper is over!!!
(unless you're counting the h1 maths paper tmr, which i'm not cos i'm not really studying for that, and i'll fail anyway... so what's the point?)
hahah

walked about causeway point with steph
my first promenade since ratatouille
a celebration of sorts for our regained freedom, if you will
hahah

and i've finally made the replacement atm card!
yay
i now feel more financially secure
won't have to worry if i don't have ready cash
never fear; nets card is here!

andd...
i've cut my hair
not so short that i can't tie it
no way, nuh-uh
that would be image-suicide for me cos my hair would just puff up all the time like a hive made from black straw
(see that? that's called a simile. hahah)
hahah
its just shorter than before, is all
wanted to cut it on friday after the facial, but since i was with my mum already...

you know how i've been skimping on sleep the past few days?
a result of last-minute studying for sure
it's been officially 24 hrs and 40 minutes since i last had some shut-eye
yup, that's right; the last time i slept was yesterday afternoon, 2.00 - 4.30
kept myself awake all night with the aid of my good friend, red bull

the optimal number of hours of sleep a day for an adult is about 8 hours
and since sunday night,
i'm supposed to have slept 24 hours total

(sunday night + monday night + tuesday night = 8+8+8 =24)
but... i've only racked up 9.5 hours
out of 24!

so if it were a grade, i'd be getting 38% - a U-grade, i think
ugh
this is really bad
you know how much i treasure sleep, right?
i used to sleep at least 5 hours of sleep a day
those were the days... *reminisces*

harrumph!
that's it!
i'm going to bed now!

hahah
aiites then
gd nite!

Just finished with helping my mother plan the menu for hari raya
menu as in all the stuff we'll serve to visitors
so far, this is what we've decided:

  1. Cheese tart w/ blueberry filling

2. Pineapple tart

3. Rainbow Dots meringue

4. Cheese biscuits

5. un-Famous Amos cookies

6. Cake – Steamed, prune lapis & rainbow marble

7. Potato Chips, Rempeyek, & Tumpi (some kinds of keropok)

8. Marshmallows and Assorted Chocolates

Yum! Can't wait to eat all this,
although it remains to be seen whether we'll stick to the plan

Okay then,
that's it (i hope) for my deviation away from studying stupid economics

Adios, mi amigos

fina

p.s. i finally found out where to buy butterscotch ice-cream!
Turns out that that rainbow "mat kool" ice-cream is butterscotch
yay!
I bought it as soon as i saw it at sheng siong just now, on my way back from school
haha
okay then, this is the end of my post

as research has shown, an organised room yields an organised mind
just what i need for promotionals
so,i've been trying to clean up my room

and guess what? i've been slaving away in my room since 2.00 pm this afternoon
clearing out things i don't need - tissue, clothes, paper, etc.
and i'm still not done
hahah
it's pathetic, yo
granted, i did take a few long breaks
to eat, to read all the papers i've got

but it's still taking too long!
and i'm not halfway done!
in fact, it looks worse now
because although my cupboard and shelves are cleared out, my floor is littered with all the stuff i want to throw away and stuff i haven't yet organised

aaaarrggghhhh!!!!
so frustrating

anyways, i was going through some old rjc papers
and i've realised why they do so well for their gp essays
it's because they actually do things during class that helps them with writing essays
like, they have worksheets - fill in the blanks - for philosophical terms
and for compre, they have guides on how to figure out the meaning of a word

hmm...
it's not that i want to do work during gp classes
god knows i'm really lazy
it's just, i just did my gp paper for promos yesterday
and i realise that my english sucks big time
i wrote only 2 and 1/2 pages for my essay
when some people write 4 full pages

and my compre!

don't even ask about my compre
i misinterpreted (or misinterpretated - hahah!) certain questions

sucks, sucks, sucks

aiite then, guess i'm off to continue bulldozing through my room

(too full for choc pudding - bummers!)

5-0!!! 5-0!!! Arsenal won, 5-0!!!

it's 1 goal over the 4-0 that was predicted by the new paper
arsenal just slaughtered derby county
and, at derby's expense, i feel ultimately joyous

and, guess what? for the first time ever, i tried to predict the score before the match started
i thought, 4-0? nah, not with the form arsenal's in
it's gonna be 5-0
and i was right! hahah
an informed prediction, though

and, guess who scored again?
Fabregas, of course
that wonderboy/man drove the ball from 20 yards out in the 70th minute
and adebayor scored a hat-trick (three goals)
and abou! abou diaby scored the first goal!!!
haha
i wonder if he was fasting during that game
must be awful hard to fast and then run around the field like that

hmm...
i'm off to watch the reading/wigan match now
i hear that kitson will score in the 29th minute
see yas!

so it seems that fina the naughty girl has not shown up for h1 maths lecture... for the second week in a row!
where did she go? what did she do?
find out here on the fina show, exclusively on channel F!

..................+xXx+.+xXx+.+xXx+..................

what did i do today?

well, tried to study econs in the cc during chapel,
but soon got distracted when they showed the 1 LIFE video
it's about people infected with HIV, and the 1 LIFE exhibition is supposed to help the general public experience what these people have gone through
it's really insightful and interesting
i just might volunteer for that...

and i slept during the econs lecture
hahah
don't worry, there was no chance of getting scolded
it seems the lecturer would rather we sleep during lecture and not disturb anyone else, than if we were to talk during lecture and disrupt it

what then...
pw: discussed survey questions, and then discussed soccer (or at least, the players) with kellyn
econs: copied down whatever was required even though i was almost falling asleep

and then was the all-important, h1 maths lecture
really, even if i had gone there, it would have been no use
they were only going through the test papers
which i did not attend last lecture to take (for reasons that shall remain hidden)

so here i am at the computer
decided not to go bukit timah to buy chocolate pudding, since i still have two cups of it at home (yum!)
i'd actually planned on the bus ride home to buy the ingredients for a milo godzilla: vanilla ice-cream, whipped cream, perhaps sprinkles
but circumstances did not allow me to do so (i'd changed my mind)

gah~
guess i'll make a milo godzilla with only milo powder then...

hahah
yesterday steph and i went shopping at orchard and bukit timah
but no, not for girly stuff
but for food!

hahah
i bought 1. chocolate pudding, from the cold storage or wtv at taka
2. baby biscuits
3. vitagen
4. mochi, filled with chocolate ice-cream, all from ntuc finest at bukit timah plaza

hmm
shd bring much more money next time
felt like buying every single nice-looking snack

and i've bought a lock for our locker!!
it's a gawdy-ly-coloured piece of work, that's green, with four multi-coloured dials
sorry, guys!
it was all i could find!

oh yeah, i forgot to mention in my previous post...
ARSENAL WON 3-1!!!!!
against their bitter rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs, in the north London derby!!!
wooohooooooo!!!
i actually felt better when the Spurs scored the first goal
because if their opponents scores the first goal, usually Arsenal would win the match by scoring two or more goals afterwards
and, true enough, they did!
yay! yay! yahoo!!!!
i swear, this post has the most number of exclamation marks out of any post i have written... ever!
and fabregas scored a goal!!!!!
i am so in love with that genius of a young man
although i don't like his teeth.... (lol!)
hahah
okay then, must finish my literature essay...
see ya!

i hate going to see the doctor alone - polyclinic, private doctor, whatever
it's just very hard, as a blur teenager, to answer the doctor's questions effectively

like, when the doctor asks: do u wanna go see a specialist? at the hospital?

what am i supposed to answer? i have to ask the 'rents
and do i need money for that?
do i have to take a cab there?
or do they send me on an ambulance? (though this is too far-fetched)
when am i supposed to go?
what?when?why?where?how?... I DON"T KNOW!!

and if she asks: can you take this medicine?

huh? i don't know
you're the doctor, you tell me!
i never look at the medicine i eat
i'm too young for that!

hahah
i think i really irritated the doctor
ya know, i think i may have some record with the polyclinic
(although i don't go there all that often
if i'm home, sick, i don't usually feel up to walking to the polyclinic and facing all the queues)
because when i was given a room to go to to see the doctor, i got the "emergency doctor"
all very weird
and she did seem very senior
hmm...

anyways, yesterday...
i really felt that all was hopeless yesterday
you see, the father said that i could do this thing that i've wanted to do
and i felt so jubilant
i could see the sun coming out from behind the dark cloud of my depressed-ish thoughts of the days before
it seemed like life would turn out the way i wanted it to
i had it all planned out - by february next year, i would be able to pay my parents back for funding this thing

then the mother came home, and she found out
and said no
but the father had said yes first, so i thought it'd be fine
then the spineless dude changed his mind

and i saw all my dreams go down the drain
just, flowing out, and i could do nothing to put a stop to it
i was so upset with them for not seeing the logic in my choice that although i was fasting, i didn't eat until it was 9.30pm
i didn't want to sit at the table with them
all i did when it was time to break fast was go to the toilet, sipped some tap water, and lock myself back in my room

*sighs*
i really dislike them not letting me make my own decisions
it's my life, anyway
and i know i'll feel happier, free-er to be myself, if i do this

by now, though, i think it'd be too late to act on my decision anyway
deadline's coming up real fast

today was a particularly depressing (or emo) day for me
i have no idea why...

hmm... thoughts about death and suicide?
hahah, don't panic yet
the thoughts aren't about my suicide, per se
just suicide in general
sparked by all those tales of a particular teacher in our school (let's call him shawty, shall we?) and a student's suicide in recent years

all that made me think of why we're being so stressed out by school and teachers, which led me to ask the meaning of life

"...there is no meaning to life. we do all this studying to earn the most money, to gain material goods, to gatify ourselves. but wouldn't need to if there was no life. so we might as well die. everyone should die..."

okay, that line above was not said in all seriousness
so don't worry just yet
it was a "tickle-me-emo" parody (watch you-tube)
but so far, i've concluded that it is impossible to figure that out until we die, then revelation comes (or we just... disappear)

now, the fast way to attain that is to kill yourself
but that's sinful, and it will take a lot for you to take that final step towards suicide, since you're stepping into the unknown

the harder way to find the meaning of life, is through contemplation and meditation (for a couple of years, at least)
but in this fast-paced world where it is almost absolutely necessary to be doing something to earn money, meditation would take too much time and effort, and it's not a sure thing, anyway

so, what should we do?
*shrugs* i'm not sure either

two options: conform and enslave yourself to this society's stupid pressures, or find a way to break free and make your own way into your world, on your own terms
the first option is easier, in a way, while the second requires gumption and creativity (and the means)

ouh, i just wanna kill myself...
(see how emo i am??)

on a lighter note, i finally watched ratatouille!
went with steph just now, to marina square
nice movie XD
the thing was, i got home at 8.15, because there was a stupid traffic jam on a stupid bus that had to take a long route (960)
broke my fast on the bus, with the hersheys kiss-ables i'd bought just in case
but i wasn't really that hungry, even when i got home,
so t'wasn't so bad

and on a lighter, more "typical-schoolgirl-bimbotic" note, i am so madly infatuated with big bang!
no, not the supposed bang from which the universe began (that's totally wrong, btw, there was no bang)
it's this korean boyband, whom i haven't even heard sing as a group
(they're on this documentary on mtv, that's where i heard of them)
but some of them are so cute!
my favourite-est of all is the youngest member, Lee Seung-Hyun, or Seungri
he's my age
not your age, no, but my age (unless you were born on my birthday)
yup, he's exactly my age, a Dec 12 baby
heehee
he just looks so cute with his specs on
and he's the best dancer of the group

the left-most guy, with specs
i know, he doesn't look so cute here
but he has such a shy smile, with sleepy eyes, and the specs, and spiky-ish hair
just... *swoons*
hahah

such bimbotic talk
hahah
but it balances out all that emo talk i had in the beginning of the day

bleargh
we should all just die

yo, back!

stayed in malacca for only one night, so didn't feel much like a holiday to me
but it was fun
stayed in that ostentatious-looking hotel, the legacy hotel or wtv
you can see for yourself, how over-the-top it was
hahah
but it was fine
walls were nice and thick, just the way i like them; i can sing and scream as much as i liked
nothing interesting happened there, other that sis eyeing the bellboy
funnily enough, i never really got a good look at him
oh well

twas supposed to be a shopping trip; i had everything planned out - what to buy, and where
my list looked something like this:
1. heels, for casual wear
2. heels, for hari raya
3. socks, for school
4. clothes, for they're never enough

but... got things i didn't want, and didn't get some things i wanted
bought:
1. heels, for casual wear, though they didn't look like the image in my mind
2. a 3/4 sleeved teeshirt, VJjeans or sth, but that's all
3. two bottles of perfume from the body shop that i don't need (2??!!); rougeberry and chymara
4. socks, but only five pairs from soxworld
5. angelfit two-way foundation from maybelline, spontaneously bought since i don't wear much makeup

hmm
the list doesn't look too bad, but i didn't get the most important stuff, like: shoes for hari raya
what am i going to wear?!!

guess i will have to shop around some more, albeit in singapore
speaking of shopping, i now have a vpost account and us address
all ready for my jansport bag purchase online
the only thing is, i'm procrastinating because i'm not sure it's the wisest choice, buying this bag online
i mean, my bro just gave me a mizuno bag he assures me only one other person has in singapore
and he's telling me not to buy the bag online
but...
as a girl, vanity is something i can't ignore, and the mizuno bag simply ain't pretty enough

hmm
i shall ponder some more, and decide later

(and i really should begin studying
i really should
shouldn't be thinking of shopping during such a crucial period)

adios, mi amigos

yesterday, met up with syaz and diana
and went to banquet to eat
you know, just some of our usual activities
hahah

then we went to syaz's house to help her make pizza (yum!)
where we'd meet up with inessa
and (yay!) received a keychain from canada, along with a barcelet and a nice-smelling maple leaf

i didn't tell my parents till i was there, and i did get a little telling off for that,
but i'm none the worse for wear
no big hoo-ha
haha

yesterday was fun; it's been a while since all four of us were able to meet up together
got home near ten, but my parents didn't scold me
*sigh of relief*
hahah

wasn't sure whether to come to school today
but since everybody else was either pon-ing or performing, i'd be left alone if i did come
so i didn't hahah
now i wonder if my ct would notice... and ask for mc when school reopens?
fat chance, since she'd have to chase about half the class for mc
(at least, i think that many people aren't coming)
parents' letter won't be accepted, unless the parent calls

so here are my options:
1. wait for her to ask for an mc from me when school reopens, and not give her one (i'd get a scolding)
2. wait for her to ask for an mc from me when school reopens, and give her one (i'd have to fake an illness at the polyclinic)
3. wait for her to ask for an mc from me when school reopens, and give her a parents' letter ('d still get scolded)
4. ask my parents to call her, so she'd accept a parents' letter (i'd get scolded by my parents for not going school)

i was supposed to see her today for eom
and i have to see her next week for bloody wr!
*sigh, but of consternation*

on another note, yesterday was the pilot run of my group's pw event
went okay, despite the lack of a proper classroom in which to hold the event
gave out kinder bueno white chocolate to the participants, as a token of our appreciation
took pictures, but i have no idea how to load it on the computer
??how??

and on another note, my bro got last in the 110m hurdles at the iaaf world championships of track and field
hahah
but it was good that he at least made it there
him, and another singaporean, a girl 100m sprinter
and he ran in the lane next to the olympic champion for tha event, lu xiang
(still can't believe that happened)

the bro's the guy in white, kinda blur, in last place
(in the lane beside the famed lu xiang in red)
he's not the intended subject in the photograph
but proud of him we still are
heehee

he brought back keychains (yay!) without me having to ask him to
so i'm happy
what i'm not happy about is the stupid army camp for not giving him a week of leave
because over there,
the organisers gave every athlete a free pass to travel the city by train, bus or whatever, a map, a brochure of places of interest, and a 50% discount to enter universal studios japan!
and he couldn't go to all those places because the camp wanted him home right after running the race
wat a waste

now i've got nothing else to say
(actually i do, but it doesn't fit the flow of this post)

ARSENAL WON!!!!!
hahah
two-days-late news, but still...

and my hero Francesc FABregas scored the winning Arsenal goal!!
hehe
he was so adorable after he scored the goal
and what hleb did to him afterwards...
no, it's not as dirty as it sounds; all he did was pretend to playfully punch him in the jaw

yep, there is life after henry, and somehow it feels happier now
heehee

anyways, i only found out about the match after it began, so i didn't really have a premonition-esc feeling about the match
but i did get an excited feeling that they were about to score a goal, about 5 minutes before the actually scored
yea!!!

updates: bad luck befell me once again on saturday
to complete the cycle of three bad-luck days (this is nonsense, i know)

went out with syaz on saturday to go jalan-jalan
all that was fine; we went roaming from geylang serai to raffles place to city hall
but what happened in the train afterwards...
really had me freaked out and annoyed

okay, here's a run-down of what happened:
i sat down between syaz and this guy who was sleeping
and decided to read my book
then the guy kept leaning in to my shoulder
so i kept inching away
even after i'd leaned as far as i could into my left, the guy on my right kept leaning in
finally, he moved away and leaned to his right, towards another girl
i decided to devise a plan of action, in case he decided to try anything funny again

and soon enough, he did start leaning towards my shoulder
so i used the corner of my hard-cover book, really sharp, and used it as a buffer between us
and it worked for a while, and he leaned back towards the other girl
then he came back again, and this time, he kept leaning in to the book's corner, even though i rammed it into his shoulder a few times
and he went back to the other girl, and he leaned back into me, and so on...
( it was a really long train ride; from marina bay to woodlands)
the last occasion he did that, i was so annoyed that i kept shoving my elbow into his shoulder, and shifting around to shrug him off
he was so disgusting, even other passengers were staring, and i pitied the poor girl whom he kept leaning in to

second bad-luck incident:
scalded my thumb in super-hot steam after i got home
cooled it off under cool water, then applied aloe-vera gel for burns
feels just like new now
yay =)

anyways, then arsenal won, and my day balanced out again
*smileys*

you know how in (sci-fi) intergalactic travel, spaceships cannot just travel to a location thousands or millions of lightyears away because the people would die before they get there?
takes too long
so they use wormholes to get to where they want to go
for the uninitiated, let me try to explain

imagine space as a piece of cloth, and u want to get from one point on the cloth to another point
what's the fastest way to get there?
the conventional answer would be a straight line
but no, that's not what wormholes are
if you fold the cloth (without creasing it) such that the two points meet, well, that is the fastest way to travel between two points in space
and that is what wormholes are
below is a picture of this so its easier to understand

why am i talking about this?
well, wormhole was the first word that came to my mind when i thought about this week
well, second; the first word was suay
but i can't describe my week as suay cos i realised that a few good things happened
so wormhole was the word
cos the week went the quickest way between very good and vey bad
haha

good things that happened:
  • got my new phone ~wee! =) w880i. even now, i'm so amazed by my phone that to buy a new mp4 player now, would just overwhelm me with too much technology. hahah
  • he, himself & him got reprimanded for some of the wrong things he's done. and the class had a discussion about him with the teacher, which allowed the class to let out their feelings about him to a teacher. (i do pity him, though, for reasons unknown)
  • got to eat tau huey (if that's how you spell it) twice this week - more than enough. hahah but the tau huey trips were fun; got to hang out with some other classmates, while making much noise
  • got to eat roti jala this week - twice! and both times, i got the one of the last three sets left. phew!
  • made myself happy by spending $3 on popular card (so cheap!) and then splurging on $12.30 worth of notebooks, pens and markers. now, my doodlingcan be super-psychedelic!
  • made new friends at rec. bowling, finally. nice people :)

i guess that's about it though
and then the bad things happened:
  • thursday pe: rolled my ankle, once when i landed after jumping to catch a ball and colliding with someone, the second when, after i'd rejoined the game, i was running after the ball. really sucks; my left ankle's still aching
  • yesterday, while shopping around causeway for more clothing, and after i'd purchased my sister's b'day present at jigsaw puzzle world, i lost my atm card. AARRGGH!! it's one of my most prized possessions, the source of my freedom, giving me the freedom to but what i want - and now it's gone!
  • found out i have to fork out $965 more for bowling - unless subsidised by school. for bag, shoes, ball and bowling camp. *sighs* and already the bro is complaining about me joining an expensive sport
  • strained my left thigh muscle in bowling from all the bending it had to do, and my left arm hurts (i don't know why, it's not like i carry the ball in my left hand)
  • lost my atm card!!!
yesterday, steph said i looked sad. must have been an ominous sign of the terrible tragedy to come. nearly spilled a few tears over the stupid blue card. i made a report at the customer service station, and i think this group of girls around 12 y.o. hanging around the shop found it. well, i'll wait till wednesday to see if anybody reports my card; if not, back to the bank to make a new one

thinking back on it, it may have been a blessing in disguise, since i think that i've been spending too much lately. maybe it's a sign for me to stop spending. maybe i just won't make another new card
we'll see

gotta go get ready
meeting syaz to go buy some stuff

laterz

i hate blackburn, i detest the way the play, i loathe their players
HATE, HATE, HATE blackburn

arsenal versus blackburn drew, as i knew they would
just the gut feeling (i feel it in the chest, rather) i have before every game
arsenal's passing was better than last game's, i think
but not as good as it should be

and blackbloodyburn...
play dirty
never have i seen (or remembered from recent games) so many fouls and dirty tricks and just plain bad attitude
the worst disciplinary record or sth last season
bentley and savage (and to a lesser degree, samba and nelsen) suck ass

though, i must admit, i was impressed by santa cruz of blackburn
he kept composed throughout the game, no wiles or riles
and i thought he was cute (hehe, felt bad for thinking that of the enemy)

now, to me, blackburn's enemies are my friends, unless they are bolton (if they play against each other, i hope they foul each other to oblivion)

when i watch a game, i don't look only at the game
i watch faces, and body language
and i have such a soft spot for hleb
aliaksandr's face looks like one that doesn't get angry without a reason
he looks like he has a good temperament, and did not get caught in the scuffles between blackburn and arsenal
i thought he looked kind of frail when i first saw him, u noe, the bone structure and all
but i like his character

compare him to van persie and fabregas
as much as i like/love fabregas, he does have such a quick temper
and with van persie got into the thick of the action against dunn/dumm and whoever
but i must say, i do, truly, madly, deeply, have a crush on fabregas
remembered a quote relating to him from twelfth night
that i posted before, but shall post again:
"what a deal of scorn looks beautiful in the contempt and anger of his lips"
hehe

walcott... has such a baby face
dunno why, even when he plays with traore who's only a few months older than he, he just looks like the explicit baby of the team
him and clichy, even though clichy is 22
walcott impressed me today though =)

lehmann, lehmann (lemon, i call him)
why another blunder?
wasn't fulham enough?
*sighs*

and stupid bloody blackburn
so violent and rough
i wondered throughout the game, what kind of supporters are blackburn supporters?
that like the dirty ways?
i'd say they probably are not peace-preaching, environmentally-concerened people
the environmental part... because people who care about the environment would want peace, and that's not what blackburn promote
barbarians, hooligans probably, the whole lot of them
[omg, i'm discriminating indiscriminately! against my principles!! oh no, i'm suffering from footballclub-icism!!]

and (YAY!!!) manchester united lost!
against manchester city!
i dunno what happened to them; first draw against reading, and now this
i tell u, must be the community shield curse
happy for obvious reasons =)
the manchester part of manchester city's name put me off supporting them at first,
then i thought, what the heck
and manchester city's goalkeeper (david schmeichel) was cute ^.^
however, should manchester united (or even chelsea, for that matter), go against blackburn or bolton, there's no doubt who i'd support: not blackburn
that's how much i dislike them

my second post of the day
must be some kind of record, looking at how rarely i post these days
feeling kind of sick from getting hit in the head by a stick
concussed... (haha. [inside joke])

that's all for now
fina <3

times like just now, i wished my gut (chest) feelings were wrong
hoped arsenal'd win

p.s. saw two rainbows in the course of a week
and am no longer atm machine of the group
haha ;)

yay! caught them fireworks on friday night!!!
altho... it was in the middle of a traffic jam
hahah
we were abit late (abt 15 mins before the fireworks were supposed to go off) just after praying
and got caught in a stupid jam going towards the marina bay sth or other
i tell u, every single vehicle was at a standstill
traffic was not slow-moving, or crawling, or even inching little by little; it was quite dead

9.15: by then, loads of people had gotten out of their cars and walked off into the distance to catch the fireworks
we remained in the car to accompany my dad (y? because my mum said so)
by then we'd given up hope of catching the fireworks and were planning to turn in to the expressway instead of continuing to marina
then we saw fireworks go off in front of our eyes (quite literally)
YAY!!!
turns out we were near where one of the places the fireworks were to be launched
so after 5 minute watching from inside the car, everybody got out of their vehicles to ooh and ahh at the fyre beauties

my favourites were the really fine types
like gold dust or sprinkles of whatever
and they had jupiter-shaped ones!
my dad gave stupid names to the different types
like stardust or porcupine, or coconut tree
all quite self-explanatory
after the fireworks ended in a crescendo of red, gold and green starbursts,
suddenly traffic started moving
was it a miracle? were the fireworks the culprits of the jam? or stupid drivers who parked their cars in the middle of the road to watch the fireworks?

needless to say, drivers whose cars were way behind ours who had walked ahead to view the fireworks because their view had been blocked by trees began running back to their cars lest their car became the only non-moving car in the middle of the road

then saturday...
met syaz at woodlands station in school uniform at 9 am
to go to smu accountancy school's conference hall 2 for some mendaki club seminar
had breakfast at long john's first
saw two other saints there, out of the whole list that were supposed to be there
and had a bp reunion with siti (tjc), aisyah (ijc), zawiyah (pjc)
and while all of us (cept aisyah) were conversing during the tea break, the mayor of central cdc and the president of the mendaki club walked over
and talked to us
WHYY?!!!
it was so uncomfortable; other kids had gone back inside, and still we stood there talking to these guys
they asked abt our aspirations, school, parents occupation, etc, etc...
haish... and all we wanted was to head back inside the hall
finally, syaz told them that we had to return to our seats, and they let us go

after that, lunch was at 2, so syaz and i ciao-ed to meet diana
briefly spoke with siti, and walked over to peninsular plaza to have our lunch
thought my pw meeting was at 4, not three
so arrived late at nlb (sorry, guys!)
found books, copied stuff
and went home

and that, my friends, was the summary of the last two days
would tell about the rest of the week, but seriously cannot remember them

toodles, then

here i am again
updating the weekly fina editorial
four days late...
oh well:

last tuesday>
went with the 'rents to the airport to welcome the bro home from jordan
and YAY! he brought back two keychains!!
100 sing dollars there is only 40 jordan dinar
and the food there is quite ex, except for streetside kebabs (only 1/5 what it costs here!- $1.00)
i'd actually wanted to show some pics of jordan, but stupid blogger's taking a helluva long time to load
like, never?
anyways, he did visit some pretty interesting places (though not petra)
he visited the jordan river, which supposed to be a big deal in the bible or sth
john e baptist was said to have baptised jesus there,
and it was crossed many times by many people with many intentions in the bible (source: wikipedia)
and the dead sea did not look dead, just blue/green
so salty that its shore was salt-encrusted

and i got to eat popeye's chicken! at last!!!
not that bad, but the smell wasn't as enticing as the last time i walked past the restaurant
and the buttermilk biscuits tasted great with jam
but the mashed potatoes... i guess i'm too attuned to kfc's mashies that anything else tastes weird
but the cajun fries more than made up for it =)
and i guess that's about it...

now, i can't remember anything else that went on last week cos its so long ago
so i'll talk about this week:

did u noe, two people danced very silly-ly at sajc's national day celebration?
haha! and caught on tape too
it was during the musical chairs segment...
heehee...
so after that, the three of us, dan, steph and me, ate at kfc

where the service was super friggin slow
(cos they hadn't cooked the food yet)
and i think they actually forgot about the order until we asked them about it
ah well...
then my eyes got so tired from looking at the computer screen about five hours
occupied my time with parodies and "requiem for a dream (piano, long version)" on youtube
that guy (pace34) made the song sound even greater than before... whoa...

after that, dan finished her council stuff earlier than we'd expected, so we thought we'd make good our original plans of eating at pizzahut
but turned out steph had some last minute dance stuff
so till next thursday, then :)

anyways, wed evening and thusday was spent at the bungalow my uncle rented for this holiday
cycling, karaoke-ing and barbequeing (typical malay holiday)
went to the beach this morning (aforesaid bungalow was at pasir ris park)
and finally got some exercise (2-3 hours cycling, uphill and down)
sadly, had to go home earlier than the rest of cousins and cousins' cousins
so here i am

okay, i'd actually wanted a samsung u600 to replace my current phone
then told my dad to postphone the ordering, just to look through the choices again
then i made my mind up again about the u600
until my sister began shopping around for a new mp3 player, and i decided i wanted a new one too
so i told my dad (again) to postpone ordering the phone
until i've made my decision about this:
should i buy a u600, with a separate mp3/4 player (samsung k5)
or just go straight for a sony ericsson w880i?
or even a different kind of mp3 player? like creative? iriver, perhaps?

*sighs* decisions, decisions...

fina :p

p.s. some stupid guy on the expressway just now suddenly swerved into the lane in front of my dad's car,
very fast and dangerously, with a kid in his backseat
like, wtf?
my dad honked at the guy, but still the asshole continued winding through traffic very fast
and that got my dad (and me) mad
so my dad took off after him, driving at 130 km/h
passed by the guy
(by then rage was boiling up inside of me too much for me to care that it was 40 over the speed limit)
all i thought was "stupid asshole"
the guy actually caught up with us, and i got a clear view of the kid perching precariously on the backseat
and stared daggers at the guy
figures, it was some young irresponsible buck
asshole
(though now that i think about it, my dad's actions were pretty irresponsible too, but at least he signalled while driving
bleh)

Saturday, July 28, 2007

we had learning festival on wed and thursday
kind of slackish, but the type of learning i'd rather have
we were supposed to choose at least four courses out of the hundred odd courses they provided
since we signed up a little late, we couldn't take up the french and comic drawing courses that we wanted
but at least we got the calligraphy course.

so wednesday began with balloons bursting
hahah
balloons resisting the twisting and squeezing that we were subjecting them to
i couldn't make the small flower with five petals, and my yellow balloon flew off into god-knows-where when i accidentally released it while pumping it
but at least i ended up with a dog, a giraffe, and a huge, green and orange flower that i had to throw away when one of its petals burst

after that course, the first-impressions talk was so interesting that it ended way beyond its supposed timeslot
really funny, engaging speaker
now, if only all our teachers were like that...

dan had to go for debates that wednesday, so it only steph and i went to cathay to catch a movie
and (YAY!!!) they had the simpsons movie!! like, a day before it was supposed to be released!!!
hahah
really funny stuff, but it was more slapstick, so it was funny then, just not now when i look back on it
can u believe i cried watching the simpsons?!!
all because marge and the kids left homer, who didn't want to leave alaska to save springfield
the video marge made was so sad; it was taped over their old wedding video, the only thing marge saved from their house when they were chased by a mob or sth

anyways, before the movie, we had to leave our balloon animals at the door since they weren't allowed in
by the time the movie was over, they were gone :'(
so steph and i decided to buy our own balloons to make!
hahah
we went to that party store in centrepoint
and bought one hundred long balloons, two pumps, and just to make ourselves happy, three helium balloons; two for me (and sis) and one for her

the ride back on the mrt was embarassing
me, alone, with two helium balloons, irritating the hell out of everyone during peak hour
hehe

thursday was calligraphy and golf
i got to draw pretty words, and hit balls
what more could i ask for?

it's sunday today
and, like all other sundays,
i'm procrastinating on homework, and housework,
and just living the lazy life that i think befits me to a tee

however, in just a few minutes,
i shall try to do some homework
i.e. the lit hw already a day late
my gp folder, which is missing like 11 articles and powerpoint printouts
history essays (yes, there are two due on monday)

feeling a bit peeved with my family now though
u noe how irrational adults are right?
and over-sensitive?
(not to mention irritable, and irritating)
always reading between the lines when there's nothing really out of hand
and then taking offense
haish...
let it be said that i'm not looking forward to being an adult...
... unless it has a rational, sensible character
(like what i have now...)
(he he)

ok then
time for the torture of hw to begin...

HARRY POTTER BOOK'S OUT!!!!
yessss!!! harry potter and the deathly hallows is out!!!

'nuff said...

.....ok, maybe not, simply can't resist...

[WARNING, MY FOLLOWING WORDS CONTAIN SPOILERS TO THE RECENTLY OUT HP BOOK. IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK, AND EXPRESS A GREAT DESIRE TO DO SO WITHOUT HAVING YOUR FUN SPOILED, STOP READING ----> NOW]

okay, just finished the book [9.30] , would have finished sooner if i didn't stop to watch gladiator and to eat

actually wanted the adult cover, until i saw the children's cover and requested for that one (more colourful, if you must know)
was disappointed at first that the book was not thicker, but now i see that it's length works just fine for the story

okay, here comes spoilers:

  • Hedwig dies. poor thing
  • George i think, loses an ear to Snape's sectumsemptra curse (George was disguised as Harry as a decoy)
  • Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin are married;Tonks got pregnant, and gave birth to Ted, named after her father
  • the Deathly Hallows are three powerful items: an Invisible Cloak, which harry has inherited and is unlike any other; a wand that will win all duels, the Elder Wand; and a stone that brings people back to life, just not exactly back to human state, the Resurrection Stone
  • Dobby dies helping Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ollivander, Luna, Dean, and two goblins escape from the Malfoy mansion.
  • Snape had been in love with Harry's mother Lily since young; they'd been best friends. Snape was a death eater, but joined Dumbledore after voldermort went after Lily and wouldn't acquiesce to Snape's request to spare Lily. Snape did kill Dumbledore, but only because Dumbledore told him to, and Dumbledore was dying anyway.Snape was killed by voldy, though.
  • Fred, Tonks and Lupin are killed in the battle that ensued between defenders of Hogwarts (including the Order of the Phoenix) and the death eaters.
  • Mrs Weasley called beatrix lestrange a bitch for attacking Ginny, and kills her
  • Harry finds out from Snape's memory that Dumbledore kept him alive only because he must kill all voldy's Horcruxes, and then must die, since a part of voldy is in him. so Harry, to prevent any further deaths of loved ones, meets voldy, and faces him, unarmed.
  • voldy tries to kill Harry with avada kedavra using the Elder Wand, but Harry survives because he was willing to die; unafraid to face death
  • draco is not really a complex, misunderstood character after all. he's actually just a frightened little boy, or coward, and has to be saved twice by Harry
  • the last battle between Harry and voldy reveals that Harry is the rightful owner of the Elder Wand, which voldy actually took from inside Dumbledore's tomb, and kills voldy when he disarms voldy with an expelliarmus and voldy's avada kedavra recoils and hits himself instead.
  • In the end, Hermione marries Ron, children: Rose and Hugo; Harry marries Ginny, children: James, Albus Severus and Lily. Ted Lupin is a close family friend, since Harry is his godfather

i think those're the key points in the book, except for a whole chunk of the process of discovering the deathly hallows and such. oh yeah, kreacher is now loyal to Harry since Harry gave him, Regulus' (who is sirius' now dead brother and kreacher's favourite master) locket, and because Harry (and Hermioner) loves elves. serious! he even cares for the Golden Trio and 12 Grimmauld Place like never before. Haha. Okay then, that is it.

i'll just leave you now with a quote, from when Dobby dies:

"And then with a little shudder the elf became quite still, and his eyes were nothing more than great, glassy orbs sprinkled with light from the stars the could not see."
