what a rollercoaster week it was!

I wore something "traditional" to school on monday for racial harmony day. Pat and i were so scared of being late (and with great reason; it was 7.40 when we rolled in), that we told the cab driver to stop at the little "alley" before the foyer and sneaked into school. In the end, though, turned out that nobody was prowling at the foyer anyways.

Not that many people wore costumes, which weirded me out at first, but i grew comfy soon enough. About eight people in class wore costumes (nine if you plus dan!); a HUGE number, if you compare us to other classes
=)

Pat wore a yukata! which nobody else in school wore - a pretty red flowered one. Rachel wore a punjabi pant suit, i think. Neha wore a chinese-looking top, as did Nadrah, who also brought malay costumes for Debbie, Victoria and Cheryl. (and Dan went irish in her clover jacket!)

Metold the dad to pick me up so i wouldn't have to be seen in public wearing what i did (which was why i cabbed to school in the first place), but he told me to meet him in bugis instead, defeating the purpose entirely. so there i was, walking around bugis in shiny satiny material on a school day. people stared, but whatever. cos they're just jealous
sez'me

Thursday was my pms day, the worst in eighteen years (six, if you want to be technical about it). Chain of events:
cried in the morning over the holocaust
felt fine at breakfast
was super spitting mad at randhir
beat up jeremy before pe
and cried right after pe
and then met steph who came for dance
and had some happy tea (or soyabean milk)
depressed by the time tuition rolled about

all that was pms in a nutshell. but but but! then i got my arsenal jacket and bottle, which i realized had arrived only after i'd finished showering at home. yay yay yay super yay! only took a week for the order to come! way to go arsenal shopping! and so, i was immensely delirious at the end of the night, and went to sleep with a smile still plastered across my face (which is creepy if you think about it, but who cares? i've got arsenal!)

I wore the beautiful piece of arsenal merchandise almost the entire day in school, and while visiting keed in the hospital, and on the way home. I just kept looking for a reason to keep it on, as well as to drink water from my pink arsenal bottle.
loves arsenal!

fabregas wearing the jacket that now i too have!

and my pink bottle!

I must say, that despite feeling a bit uncomfortable at first (as one is wont to feel while in a hospital, facing a friend who was still feeling dizzy and nausea and pain from the operation), visiting keed turned out to be kinda fun! we just stood around and chatted with the rock, after giving him the goodies pat and i shopped around hdb hub for, before heading upstairs for a bit of a visit with dan's mum, and then coming back down to see keed again.

of course, fina just had to create another episode to add to the teh ping and bandung chronicles - this time, with the reflection of a sandwich dispensing machine. uggh, i'm so disgustingly embarrassing to myself! although, i was able to share the honour of hosting another embarrassing episode involving a man, mt alvernia hospital, and a bright yellow sign with pat. so i wasn't alone - mwa-hahaha!

fina*

p.s. i'm just trying out a new system of posting in full sentences and in actual paragraphs. just wanted to feel a leetle teeny weeny bit grown up right now at three in the morning. not succeeding.

haha the ad's back for that SPIN low suds brand
and it cracks me up every time cos it's so unexpected!

my first (and only) day in school on friday went by ok
although i was whining the entire time about wanting to go home
no, i wasn't sick...
unless you count school as something legitimate to be sick of
haha

anyways, first thing in the morning, i did the HAPI test
and somehow made myself look suicidal
especially when they asked what signs of stress happen to me
and i circled everything except being overemotional

mr soh wasn't in school for lesson
so yay!
and then we went to the fourth floor staircase to hang around and try to do lit annotations
well, everybody else did
i just sat on the floor
and did this:

"i hate BOEY!"
"i hate lit!"
"i hate boey!"
"boey sucks!"

and you get the point

went for late lunch/early dinner with pat, jerrald and joel at kfc
for once they didn't mess up my order
a rare occasion

BUT!

yesterday, when i was buying dinner at kfc for me and bro after tuition
they messed up again!
like, the girl had packed everything except my pepsi
she already filled the cup with pepsi, but left it there on the dispenser
then she packed my lemonade and gave it to me, expecting me to go away
so i stood there,
while she took the other person's order
and proceeded to pack that person's stuff!
she looked at me questioningly when she noticed me still there

turns out she forgot my order
like all the other kfcs in singapore
be they in kallang, woodlands or potong pasir
wth?
i should have complained
i really should
but i'm not the type
i will next time!

on a good, better - the best! - note, i'm getting arsenal's official warm up jacket for my birthday!
wooooohoooooo!!!
rejoice!!!!!
although, i did accidentally order two online
a careless mistake that should have cost me $340 overall
but the great arsenal customer service staff got my message to cancel one order
and cancelled it barely hours afterwards
i love arsenal!!

fina*

p.s. why do i have such bad luck with kfc?!

the past few days have been horrible

i spent thursday about as near to blind as humanly possible
haha
cos my contacts were seriously stinging my eyes before assembly
so i had to take them both off
plus, my specs broke the night before
the only way i could read was to literally hold the paper 10 cm from my eyes
i must have looked seriously funny

the next day came the first in a series of stomach/ gastric flu days
couldn't stand it
even after i got home, i just lay on the bed, writhing around like a worm
something that's continuing till even now
gahh

and i had to miss tuition on saturday because of that
so that's money and opportunity wasted

i'm gonna go lie down again
FINA World Diving Series

(haha i watched it on tv; their flag is really the word "FINA"!)

omg omg omg omg omg

i seriously felt a super soft spot for aliaksandr hleb cos he looked so frail, and nice
but he's such a bitch!
such a super big effing beeyatch!

uuuggghhhh!!!!
he's been making it sooo obvious that he want to move to barcelona
(yea right, like he'd be able to play there;
everybody there's better than him, i'd think)

as if that wasn't insult enough, he's lashed out at wenger and fabregas!
he said fabregas was a "more selfish" player than he was, with his willingness to shoot when he has an opportunity
that's selfishness??!!
like, hello!
fabregas has scored more goals than hleb has
and that has helped the team!
it's not a "problem", like hleb said it was!
it's players who won't shoot - that's the bloody problem!

aarrrggghhhh!
darn, have i misjudged hleb or what?
i overestimated his character by a whole damn lot!

as you can see, i am disappointed.
super disappointed!

the traitor on the left! along with the other dude, flamini, who's also just abandoned arsenal!

finishing up my sgc. wish me luck!

yea, bowling was fun!!!

met dan, pat and jerr
and went skating and bowling at kallang
how fortunate that both were available at kallang!
and, if we had wanted to, we could have watched a movie
but the dark knight only comes out on the extremely late date of 17th july
darn

i wanna go bowling again!
i am super lousy, the three of them can attest to that
haha
but it's all in good fun

bowlinggg!!!!!

and i hate schoooollllll!!!!!

wow, typing in extra, unnecessary letters is funnnn!!!!

haha
ok
will try to do a bit of my acjc paper
although i can't find the compre anywhere...

went to the arsenal website today
so far, the only new member that i saw in the "players" category is ramsey
a player that signed in june 2008 from cardiff city

the new arsenal kit:

looks soooo different form their usual kind
instead of a white sleeve on a red shirt,
they've decided to go with a white stripe on both sleeves...
doesn't look so impressive just lying flat like that,
but fabregas makes it look ok:

so maybe it only looks good on a person
on which case, on my wishlist for my birthday...
...is the ladies' home kit!
i didn't know they made them in ladies' sizes
but i'm glad they do!
my second splurge when i get my salary after A's
(besides a dslr camera - if i do get one)
will be the kit!

(40 pounds)

plus a few other things
like:
(35 pounds)

(now only 15 pounds! down from 35)

a hoodie!
can't decide between the two, though i'm leaning towards the second one

(24 pounds, down from 30 pounds)

and a watch!
my pattern is a watch every year, so maybe this will be it

hopefully, they'll have come out with new designs by the end of this year

aaannndddd
i hope arsenal's new away kit comes out nicely
hopefully even nicer than the home one
so i have a nicer one to buy!
gaaaccckkkk! i really want these things!

but i probably won't get them all
or maybe not even one
i'm notoriously too lazy to order things online
maybe i'll buy a knock-off...

(haha)
...fina

p.s. i crossed the border over to the liverpool webbie
to see their ladies' collection
and i'm ashamed to say that some of their tops are prettier than other arsenal ones
=(
and their ladies' jacket is nice! in a creamy white and red

i'm such a traitor!! T_T

darn, school's starting again tomorrow
now that it's just a few hours away,
what's going through my mind is what i should have done to enjoy my holiday best

like go to the beach!
man, if "unfulfilled dream" had a name, it'd be going to the beach!
i should have just gone alone!
but i could hardly muster up the energy to wake up in the morning
everyday, i wake up at 6.30, pray, and go back to sleep
... or watch friends!
haha

something else i should have done: shopping!
not for clothes, though i'd have enjoyed that very much
it's just that i've been wanting to go to borders or kinokuniya
perhaps pick up a football magazine, or maybe another pretty notebook
but i didn't =(
lethargy has been winning it's battle against me lately

although, i did manage to do some late night shopping at mustafa centre yesterday
late as in 11 pm
so fun!
a trip there always consists of me taking anything i want and putting it in the cart
and believe me you, mustafa has a ginormous variety of goodies
stuff you can't find at ntuc or cold storage!
yesterday, though, restraint came in the form of my sister
many of the things i wanted, like the la va quiri cheese cubes, or chocolate milk, or dark chocolate gelare ice cream, were taken out of the cart and returned to their places
well, take pity on my parents' wallets

i did get my two cartons of mac and cheese, and sara lee strawberry cheesecake,
and aloe vera drink, and choc chip cookie dough ice cream,
and bickford's creamy soda, and pop tarts,
and... i'm salivating already! haha
so maybe putting those things back in the cart wasn't such a great loss...

hahah
i'm going off to enjoy the remnants of my holiday
all twelve hours of it
see ya!

more pictures from the euro 08 final where spain won 1-0 on torres' goal:

spain team's jubilation contrasting with the dejected germans (in this case, their captain, ballack)

fabregas lifting the trophy after having a go at kissing it

fernando torres, the match winner, lifting the trophy

the spanish team celebrating!!!!

yep, that should be it for today.
as for irritated americans who think soccer is a game for european fags:
football is played in every continent except yours. with such a lousy USA team, it's no wonder.

fina*!!!!!!!

yes, yes, YES!!!
spain won!!!
i am sooooo happpiiieeeee!!!!!!! (deliberate misspelling - of course)

fabregas made the starting XI
so that started the game well =)

torres and casillas (goalkeeper-captain) celebrating hard

things i noticed during the game:

#1. fernando torres' side parting looks nice!
yep, the dreadful headband was missing
and he parted his hair on the side
so he looked more like the fernando torres that i used to like

torres celebrating his goal

#2. the german chancellor's bad-mood when shaking the hand of spanish players
she totally didn't look happy
the least she could do was try to smile
but her face held no discernible goodwill
what a bad sport!

#3. fabregas did an oh-so-funny and embarrassing dance while celebrating
i just couldn't help but laugh!
he was waving his arms while jumping side to side
he earned it, though!

#4. sad faces of the german players
especially michael ballack!
poor guy bled a lot from a cut on his right eyebrow
and he (along with every other german there) looked so out-of-sorts and dejected and stunned when they lost
and yet, michael ballack was personable with the big shots who shook his hand
smiling all the while
(as you can tell, i have a soft spot for him too)

#5. ... can't really think of much more
i was drifting into sleep by the end of the first half, and woke up only in the 75th minute
so i missed fabregas' substitution, and who-knows what else
am so sleepy

good night!

the spain team (fabregas - bottom second from right)
(and i admit - david silva isn't so good looking;
would've preferred david villa playing)
(and torres looks so unglam in this shot!)

finananananananananannanananana-spainwon!!!!
hey all!!!
am i glad to say that BT2s are over or what!
(and that isn't a question, by the way)
of course, it's aftermath will bite me in the butt later on,
but in the meanwhile, i might as well just relax and take it easy

i've spent the weekend reading,
and have thus far completed three chick lit books
and i have enjoyed almost every minute of it
(i certainly did not enjoy reading about the heroine getting thrown into jail,
or being slandered in the national press, though)
just living the high life, you know

interestingly,
i visited my grandparents' house today
to find that their surrounding walls and gates have been painted two colours
that are not unlike my blog colours now
watered-down green and pale blue-green
okay, so that isn't really interesting, but that's what i've been doing this weekend
kinda boring

also, i realise that working in a bookshop isn't all fun and games
especially when they ask for books that you have no idea about,
because you don't really work there
i do like it fine being the cashier, though,
except when they ask such questions
but people who visit the bookshop generally are patient people,
so i've never had a hard time dealing with a customer

am hoping that the remaining three days of my holiday are more relaxing
maybe i'll go to the beach one of these days
alone? i've nobody to go with, that's for sure

EURO FINALS ARE STARTING IN 2 HOURS!!!!
viva la espana!!!

España será victoriosa!!!
(Spain will be victorious!)

Fabregas golpeará extremo con el pie!!
(Supposed to be "Fabregas will kick butt", but it came out
"Fabregas will strike end with the foot" - close enough, i suppose :p )

i'll try to find things to do till then
finanana dice adiós!

p.s. Spain is such a good-looking team!
fernando torres, cesc fabregas, xabi alonso, david villa, david silva, etc...
plus, wimbledon lawn championships are going on
more goodies to watch!

p.p.s.
i want to be one of the guys who stand behind the goalposts and take pictures!
especially when fabregas is playing!

Monday, June 23, 2008

oh no! i can't believe Russia beat Holland!
more woe! cos i generally feel goodwill towards the Dutch side
but, never fear, Spain are still in the game
all the way, spain!

decided not to go for the 3 o'clock tuition today
thought i'd go for the 6.30 one, but i realise my awesomely bad grasp of theory right now is a more pressing issue.
you can't answer questions if you don't have any knowledge, can you?
right.

here's a funny picture of that spain match against italy, where they won on penalties

see?
haha their individual expressions, and the collective effect of it, are so comical!

and here's another, of cesc celebrating his winning penalty goal against italy
haha i love that kid
but you can never poke too much fun at the people you like!

haha
ok
back to studying

see ya'll

I have been too lazy to post lately

i got bed bug-bites in Kuantan!
WOE! WOE! WOE!
i counted around 23 bites around my right wrist, and around 10 bites on my left upper arm
two bites on left leg, and four bites on right
sucks as hell
it was super, super, super itchy during that first week

and then i got home, and i got even worse bites from some unknown freaky thing
it left a few bright red spots around my legs
and two particularly stand-out purple swells on my right leg
it's gone down since
-thank God-

not to mention, i got sore eyes the morning that we left
around 3.00 am, i noticed my red-ish eyes
and my eyes are still red now
maybe i should go to the doctor...

my red eye- shiny because of my specs- disgusting!

the beach at Kuantan was fun
we picnicked there when my parents went shopping
just me, sister and cousin
and spent the rest of the day there playing with starfishes and sand
real live starfish- kept trying to crawl away!

this shot of my sister and cousin looks nice

but the beach at Mersing was... scary
although it looked nice, it was full of crabs larger than the hermit ones at Kuantan

empty Mersing beach on a weekday

my sister and cousin with the kite that failed to take off

on our last day, we went to Kota Tinggi waterfalls at my suggestion
and it was fun!
rocks were super slippery, water super cold, water fell painfully on our backs
but it was fun
my cousin and me (front)

and now, bowling National Age Group championships are going on
can't say i don't feel embarrassed being there
team singapore players present and all
i don't even have my own shoes and ball!
but it's something for the sgc, so...
wish me luck!

hope i get to see beautiful, sunny, CLEAN beaches!

fun fun fun!
the picnic, i mean.

and when we got there, something really cool happened.
two airplanes flew to form a heart-shaped cloud thingie!

lucky to catch it =)

i didn't bring a change of clothes though...
cos that garbage pick-up session at pasir ris beach scared me out of entering the sea ever
but the beach at east coast, especially the slightly secluded part we went to, was super clean!
boy, did i regret it

food was aplenty, thanks to syaz, as was chips, thanks to diana
couldn't stop eating...
:p

p.s. going to kuantan next week; leaving sunday
yay! more beach!!!!

p.p.s. diana and syaz: go to the private album on my friendster; other pictures are there =)

i am now officially addicted to deviantart.com
why? it's not like i contribute any art there
but the photographs there are to die for!
don't believe me? just go to the site, click photography in the categories browser
and feast your eyes!

just looking at the photographs makes me smile
especially the astrophotography
=)
even the non-photographs...
the manipulated pieces, the vectors - all the digital art!
they're all so talented!
haha
omgoodness, i'm turning green around the ears already from jealousy
a few more days, and my entire head will be green!
not a bad colour, though, i say...

school was a total waste of time
happy birthday, jerrald!
but besides that...

i went to watch chronicles of narnia just now
fantastic!!!
love, love, love, love, loved it!
i really didn't want the movie to end

well, from the first movie,
i've always been intrigued by edmund from chronicles of narnia: the lion, the witch and the wardrobe
have always thought he was cute
even while others went crazy over peter
euughh
but now he's all grown up!
perhaps part of the reason i'm so in love with the movie is that i'm enamoured with him!
haha

his name's skandar amin casper keynes
lebanese mum, english dad
funny thing is, he's the greatx5 grandson of CHARLES bloody DARWIN (?!!)
and his dad's the great-nephew of JOHN MAYNARD KEYNES!
and some other ancestor of his won some nobel prize
talk about an illustrious lineage, huh?

am so infatuated! haha

there should be no school during the school holidays!

anyways, monday... school...
and it was the return to the place we did our SL
to share our top prize money with them
$220 of Ben and Jerry's ice-cream! mua-ha-ha!
we bought 16 pints at cathay and hopped on a cab
and made it before anything melted!
very~ nice~!

tuesday... after school was AC perbayu play
sat under the open sky
watching traditional malay fables being acted out
leg got a cramp, but the show was interesting:)

today... bloody school again...
maybe i'll go vivo afterwards...

anyways, told pat i'd put up a video of nick pitera singing both the guy and girl parts in "a whole new world"
it's amazingly weird

i give up.
i seriously have.

can't continue till i have un-given up.

Saturday, May 24, 2008

just woke up after an entire day's sleep
i feel refreshed!

the last few days, i haven't really gotten much sleep
and yesterday -haha- yesterday was the absolute worst!
the 12 hour writing competition thing

school ended at 12, so i went home soon after borrowing a laptop from the school library
met andy along the way: other students don't even have to go school! unfair! *sulks*
anyways, got home, took a shower, then went out again at 4.30 to meet mum and dad for dinner
unfortunately, a traffic jam meant that i only reached potong pasir around 6.45,
so i bought a mcspicy meal, ate it in the car, finished an entire burger and fries in 12 minutes
and went to the meeting place
i could have come late! darn, totally didn't know
but at least i'd had dinner

anyways, the first four hours was slow
i had a story, just no idea how to make it into writing
if it had been a movie-making thing, i'd have all the ideas ready
but writing... i'm not so good at that
i bet mine's probably the worst prose entry...

we were ginven all these clues that we had to fit into our stories
made it harder

at 11, we had supper on the tracks
candlelit canadian pizza supper under the stars
we rolled around on the tracks after eating, gossiping, mostly
it really was nice lying down, looking up at stars

but 12 o'clock came
and we had to go back to our writing
from 12 onwards, i just sat in front of my laptop and typed away through the night
others went to sleep around 3, 4

jeremy, that drunk bastard, went to sleep the earliest
and woke up the latest
bloody thing made me so jealous, just snoring away in the corner while i had to stay awake and write
huhh

i had a nap from 5.30 to 5.50 thereabouts
and went back to typing
i tell you, my story must be the most boring shit ever
it's science fiction, and not really very well written
i just put in words for the sake of putting in words
boringgg...

anyways, showered after the thing was over, around 8.30
and went to mcdonald's for breakfast
mcGriddles! yum!
and i was like dead by then
hung around with rachel for a while
then took the bus home
i slept almost the entire way home on 966
got off the bus, lined up for bus 912, fell asleep while standing up (really!)
took the bus, slept all the way

then i reached home around 11.30
immediately fell on my parents bed
and didn't wake up at all till 8.30
it was so, so, so nice to sleep

still tired
maybe i'll go to sleep again
haha
good night!

- from the Institute for Stork Research and Science
Two different theories exist concerning the origin of children: the theory of Sexual reproduction, and the theory of the stork. Many people believe in the theory of sexual reproduction because they have been taught this theory at school. In reality, however, many of the world's leading scientists are in favor of the theory of the stork. If the theory of sexual reproduction is taught in schools, it must only be taught as a theory and not as the truth. Alternative theories, such as the theory of the stork, must also be taught.

Evidence supporting the theory of the stork includes the following:

1. It is a scientifically established fact that the stork does exist. This can be confirmed by every ornithologist.

2. The alleged human fetal development contains several features that the theory of sexual reproduction is unable to explain.

3. The theory of sexual reproduction implies that a child is approximately nine months old at birth. This is an absurd claim. Everyone knows that a newborn child is newborn.

4. According to the theory of sexual reproduction, children are a result of sexual intercourse. There are, however, several well documented cases where sexual intercourse has not led to the birth of a child.

5. Statistical studies in the Netherlands have indicated a positive correlation between the birth rate and the number of storks. Both are decreasing.

6. The theory of the stork can be investigated by rigorous scientific methods. The only assumption involved is that children are delivered by the stork.

monday was the rugby finals
us, against acsi
we lost to acsi, sadly...
but -damn!- a few of those acsi boys were fine
hahaha
really fine
and most of them were huge
as in, way huger than most of our boys

anyways, yesterday was the pre-final show of that "dewa dewi" thing my brother entered
my brother didn't dance the bollywood dance yesterday =(
instead, they'd moved it to monday's finals
but they at least gave out the subsidiary awards,
after everyone'd strutted their stuff (and a few draggy performances by four akademi fantasia singers from malaysia)

nobody got more than two awards
some of the awards were misjudged, i felt
like, if you see the pictures below, Guy 1 won Best Smile (what smile?!!)
but i think Guy 3 should have won
oh well
my brother's Guy 9
he got the Best Physique Award- can't say i disagree heh heh
anyways, in his photo you can see his sunburn spots from training just before the shoot

other awards of the night:
Mr Photogenic- Guy 2
Miss Photogenic- Girl 4
Best Smile (female)- Girl 1
Mr Favourite (as in, most supporters)- Guy 5
Miss Favourite- Girl 7
Mr. Personality- Guy 4
Miss Personality- Girl 6
Miss Body Beautiful- Girl 2
Congeniality Award- Guy 10

interesting day at school, today
went to school carrying the cheque to pay for a level fees
thought i'd done everything right- didn't forget anything, no due work to be done, shirt newly ironed, etc.

and then came the time to pass her the cheque
up shot her temper
faster than a rocket aimed at the sky
and she called us "pains in her butt"

ehk. not that it affects me much
but we did ruin her mood for lesson afterwards
poor class- we're all very, very apologetic that you guys had to go through that
being "despised" and all that
i'm sure you all are desolate because of that

however, i am not apologetic about whatever it was that made her so infuriated
really, tempers are there to be controlled, not to be given the freedom to rampage rampantly with unbridled rage
(notice alliteration of "r"? reflection of me scoffing at her lack of control, and thus mocking her; lol)

anger is not the problem here; it in itself does little harm.
But the problem here is her response to that anger
she lets it boil too quickly, and indulges it by raising her voice.
really. think about it. does raising your voice achieve anything?
it's supposed to scare the shit out of people, but to seasoned veterans like us, it does little
and so, i return to my point of what is achieved by the raising of your voice
it makes no difference
all you're doing is adding to noise pollution. that's it.

heh. i do sound a mite bitter, don't i?
it's just that i do not like being made to listen to screaming in the morning
not when i've "had my morning coffee" yet
and over something that actually has no consequence- over a nonentity of a mistake
that has no detrimental effect

thus ends today's post.
maybe today was karma for a very funny story i wrote yesterday
who knows?
good night all ;)

finally had a mcgriddle breakfast! yum!
instead of the usual muffin bread, it uses something that tastes and looks suspiciously like pancakes doused in syrup
and it tastes great!
because it's both sweet and savoury

before i go, here's a cute picture
i was sad when thierry henry left arsenal,
thought i'd miss him loads
but apparently the feeling's not reciprocated
lol

henry having a merry good time with his new best friend

see ya!

watched our girls soccer team beat rjc yesterday at kovan field
irritating mrt guy told us it was at srjc
humph!
so we walked all the way there, past florence road and lim ah pin road and all the rest
we bloody memorised road names to get there!
and when we arrived, we didn't see anybody at srjc's field

haha
we did make it in time for the second half of the match, after a stopover to get coke light (dan) and a double choc frappe (me- yum!)

after the match, i went off for bowling
while dan went back to toa payoh
paid $14 (not worth it) to play for one and a half hours
while trying to study in between half-hearted rolls of the ball

(haha can't believe the school wants to send people like me for competition!
can you say embarassing?)

went home, slept till 1.30 today
lifeless, much?

today has been a bad day so far...
accidentally ate something i shouldn't have,
did something silly to my lit test paper,
and my queue got cut while queuing up for the super-mega-ultra-long B&J free cone queue!

and! just found out that flamini's leaving arsenal! :'(
and hleb is thinking of leaving arsenal! :'(

but at least i got my free cone!
although it dripped all over my fingers...

oh, woe is US!!!

three plays in a week... hahah
dan will know what i'm talking about!
Hamlet, My Mother's Wooden Chest (translated from malay), and Traveling Light
but they were fun

something stupid:
(i keep accidentally ordering stuff! cos i just agree to whatever the person behind the counter says even though i either can't hear what they just said, or i wasn't paying attention haha... dan and pat can testify!)

anyways, i think i've become meaner since the start of this year
really, really mean :(
i'm sorry, everybody i've insulted with whatever i've said!
especially worse-than-a-rock-Keed!
and drowned-crickets-in-the-brain-Bong!
and crows-appear-whenever-he's-near-Borge!
as for the others...
haha Jeremy really is a freak,
Zong"d"e i haven't insulted much (and he's yet to pay back $1.50!)
and Jerrald... really is weird sometimes! haha
but as i've said, weird people attract weirder people
and i'm finally ready to admit than i'm one of those "weirder" people
hahaha

finally watching the Soren Mongkontong King (right) vs Sean Wright (left) fight
they didn't show it during the Contender Asia finale that they showed on television
maybe because it didn't have anything to do with the actual show, other than the fact that they were both contestants
yess! finally got to re-live my time at the Singapore Indoor Stadium!
hahah

as i was telling Syaz the other day, my infatuation (yes, i'll call it what it is- not love haha) with Soren didn't begin from the start of the show
i mean, when i watched the first few episodes, i must admit that i thought Sean was cuter! haha
then the Soren vs. Alain fight came about, and i started noticing that Soren was not bad looking,
especially from the part of the episode when he said that some fighters get angry before a fight,
but he just gets quieter (i dunno why, but that recommended him to me)the Soren vs. Alain episode

and finally, the determining factor, the episode when their family/ friends came to visit them
and Soren's mum came
and i saw how much he loves his mother, and the great relationship between the two
and just like that, i fell!
i'm such a sucker for boys who love their mums! lol
maybe because it shows that they're not brutes? haha

and that, ladies and gentlemen, was The Great Singaporean Love Story - NOT!
hahah
learnt that from Borat
(yes, i finally watched it!)
he was learning how to be funny in an American way
and the person who was teaching him said that American humour leaned in that direction
like how they say something... -pause- and say "NOT!"
but Borat was totally messing it up haha
ok ok, digression

am going to nap now
good night/ evening!

fina*

p.s. conversations in college has since become more intellectual
a common convo between me and Pat or Keed or Borge can go like this
*please note that everything's said in Borat-accent
the fabulously satirical Borat

me: yes!
P/K/B: yes!
me: yes!
P/K/B: yes!
me: very nice!
P/K/B: yes! very nice!
me: yes!

you won't believe what i did for sports day
[unless you're from my class... then the surprise is spoilt ): ]

i ran! never done that for sports day before!
primary school... never took part...
secondary school... javelin, in which i was no good hahah...

and junior college... didn't take part last year
and this year, i never planned to
but some of the girls from my class were sick today, and weren't able to run
for the inter-class 10x200m relay race
and nobody else was able to take this last spot
so there was no choice but for me to run...
in my sneakers! as did amanda and rachel
(we totally didn't see this coming)
hahah i really, really, REALLY did not want to run
i mean, imagine me, someone who loathes running so much, and who's sooooo far from fit
running 200m
100m... maybe i could have made it
but i didn't think i could run 200m

and then the race started
and i ran as fourth runner out of ten ppl from my class
and i wasn't last! hahah
as in, debbie came in at fourth place, passed me the baton, and i ran, and kept the placing!
weeee!
i'm so thankful for that
so happy i didn't let my classmates down =)

hahah
dunno if i'll ever stop talking about it
try and see it from my point of view
i hate running
i do badly in 2.4km runs
my shuttle runs get me an A, but that's so minor, it probably shouldn't count
and i am fat. F. A. T. fat
so running 200m while keeping up with the person in front of me is great!
hahah
or maybe that person was just slow...
but who the heck cares? i'm just glad i wasn't slow

weeee
have to study for a bloody test
and do a bloody essay
but not right now
i'm mood-less
so later then

celebrated pat's birthday yesterday with jeremy, jerrald, zong ze, liying for a little while, and dan when she came late (although by then i had to go home)...
and the birthday's today! happy birthday pat!

yesterday was fun
partly in the actual activity, but mostly in the "laughing-at-drunk-people" activity
they are really so funny to watch
hahah
no offense, guys... =D

and jeremy was kissing the pillow pretending it was Y-know-who (well, you'll know only if you're from my class...)
and pat was drunk even when she didn't drink (?!!) (i suppose it was happiness-induced drunkness?)

the cake was strawberry sweetheart
i hid it in my bag before going to meet them all
although i shouldn't have bothered haha
cos pat figured it out when i accidentally smsed her that there was "No tiramisu [cake]. How?"
hahah
silly me :(

i'm enjoying my day at home
a lot
doing nothing, sitting at the computer, watching tv, eating prata with ice-cream (yum!)
hahah
and now i'm gonna go and read a book on the chaos theory
fun stuff
;)

(i haven't read a book that doesn't have anything to do with literature in ages. so a book on chaos seems like heaven right now)

overdue pics!

1. CONTENDER ASIA FINALE

The scene in the ring almost immediately after the show. Poor little kids had to pick up the confetti (they were the ones wiping the floor of the ring before every round!). Stephan Fox (wmc vp) in the white shirt and black jacket, Yodsaenklai (THAI) holding his check, while Rafik Bakkouri(FRA) looks unlam behind him in the contender tracksuit. Soren Mongkontong King (AUS) glowing like a beacon (at least, in my eyes) even whilst blocked by the stupid sponsor's box-thingie.

John Wayne Parr (AUS) and Yoddy (THAI) locked in each others' arms. Aww- big hug!!

Soren Mongkontong King(AUS) in in his corner (facing my side!) before the match began, after Wai Kru was done. Sean Wright (SCO) (and you can only catch a glimpse of his blue-trimmed shorts) blocked by that infernal sponsors' ad. (Soren won!) Them bloody boxes are really very irritating! I had to keep looking up at the screen whenever the fighter's fought in the center of the ring. (aarrgghh!)

2. KUSUMAWANGI- SYAZ BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!

Syaz, Diana, Me, in the cab on the way to NUS. Diana looks like she's being forced to go- she's not!

Me, Diana, Syaz, in the toilet. Opportunists!

heyall! the last match -the finale- just ended a little more than an hour ago
so fun! so exciting! such a well-spent $166!
pictures taken, mostly blurred because it was too far away
but still so much fun!
i screamed and yelled, and gave standing ovations, and sang the national anthem
like nobody's business

there were two matches before the actual contender asia finale
louis wong of singapore and i-dunno-who of indonesia
we won, even though before this, the singapore dude had only fought in 7 matches
4 of which he lost (or thereabouts)

and brenda shee of singapore vs. some thailand girl
the thai has had about 42 matches, 32 of which she won
but our brenda was the SEA games bronze medallist
(who has only had 6 matches; 4 won)
and she won =)

and then the real thing started
first match: SOREN MONGKONTONG vs. Sean Wright (!!!)
Soren used a lot of elbows and knees, of which he is famous for
and it was so nice to watch! i think it's a bit more traditional than just plain boxing
he's more beautiful in real life than on tv (heh heh; u're puking, right?)
sean's shaved his head, so he looks a little weird
SOREN WON!!!
since Sean was the WMC Intercontinental champion, that means that Soren is now the WMC Intercontinental title holder
congratulations!!!
i <3 won =")" silver ="(">

my left eye has been twitching the entire week
prolly cos of not enough sleep
but with so many exciting things happening, how could i?

and this weekend will be another eye-twitcher
whole day tomorrow is taken
going out on sunday also
omg, i'll be so tired...

on the other hand: I'M WATCHING THE CONTENDER IN ABOUT 18 HOURS!!!
CAN'T WAIT!!!

on the other-other hand (meaning my third hand)
(i do have one- didn't you know?):
I GOT AN A FOR PW!!!!
ONLY 1 in 9!!! which is pretty good, compared to yesteryear's

good night- got things to do tomorrow!
=))

Wednesday, April 09, 2008

yes, it's another post- so frequent!

arsenal lost =(
to liverpool... not as bad as if they'd lost to chelski and ManUre

and... it seems the super lousy contender tickets i got were the last ones of that price!
or one of the last ones
cos after i bought the tickets, i checked back to see if any more tickets were available
NONE!
so i guess we were pretty lucky
even the cheaper seats had no more vacancies in the more preferable sections
so i am pretty thankful we got them lousy seats
=))

fina*

Tuesday, April 08, 2008

yes! we've booked tickets!
but man, tickets are running out super fast
couldn't get seats in the column i wanted
got them instead in the lousy corner sections... and the last seat in the corner seat...
hahah

but we've still got tickets -yay!!!!!

nanananananananananananananananana
<3
i love love love love love -love!- my sister!!!
she's offering to pay for my contender asia finale tickets!
(albeit, only till i can pay her back... but still!)

i'm feeling so happy right now
i was listening to 98.7fm, hoping i would get a chance to call in to win a pair of $300 contender front row tickets... but i was slow...
anyway, it's not a guarantee that you'll get the tickets, cos there'll be a draw only on the night before the show
so $80 tickets will have to be enough
(anyway, no other more expensive seats are available)
(and even then, only single seats are left. but i still want to go!)

i really hope we get tickets! and good seats!
wish me luck!
=))

finanananananananananananananananananananananananananananananana
(and i could have gone on "na-na"ing till kingdom come- that's how happy i am!)
(get it? king-dom come? soren king? king?)
(hahah ;P)

Monday, April 07, 2008

yay! our class got $220 in Ben&Jerry vouchers
for being number 1 in service learning =)
and it's wonderful that we're planning to share it with the shelter where we did the project

yep, another boring post.
've got nothing i wanna say except...

... since i'm already so enamoured with soren, i might as well milk it for all its worth!
;)
so here are more pictures of him
... in a shirt! *drools*
(it's just a picture, not a video) (yes, i "print scrn"ed)
(he's the dashing gentleman in purple)
fina*

(obviously, there are no worthy gentleman in school over whom i can drool
hence my pathetic fixation on a man whom i'll never meet
oh, the injustice of it all...)

arsenal drew with liverpool... for the second time this week...
i wonder how the tuesday game will go...

fina*

(and yes, i haven't stopped watching the contender asia re-runs...)
:p

Saturday, April 05, 2008

hah. i've got nothing to say. yesterday was a bad, bad day

"... oh, woe is me, woe is me!"... (in dufus voice)

watching the contender now is more enjoyable now that i know where they've filmed it
heh heh heh
shan't tell
shhh!*

but now i wonder if it'll still be enjoyable now soren's out
hmm
call me boy crazy, but he really was the most tasty thing on the show
hahahahahah
well, okay
should i stop talking about him?
i should, right?
must have been super irritating to people when i went on and on about him...
sorry!

hmmm... the presentation yesterday to the j1s bombed
hahah
my part of the presentation was the most dry, boring shizz ever
and i'm not a good presenter anyways
so... sorry, j1s! hahah

ummm...homework homework homework
nothing else going on in my life
except for the commotion (or brouhaha, in borge's words)
in school over... er-hem, can't say
but i wonder how it went eventually...
give me updates, girls?

fina
(i'm really bored, but i'd really rather this than school)

Soren Mongkontong, or Mongkongtong, or Soren King
:'(

Wednesday, April 02, 2008

omgoodness!!!!
Soren's knockout was terrible!
it was so heartbreaking to watch!!!

his fight with dhzabar totally didn't go his way
slowly his hands started coming down, which meant he wouldn't be able to effectively block punches

the first time he got knocked down by dhzabar's punch, he got up
but looked totally disoriented and out of it
he wasn't walking properly, and looked like he was in a daze :(

and then they continued
he just appeared vacant, which was sad to see...
and he got punched hard in the face again
and this time, he just flew off his feet and landed flat on his back

and didn't move at all

he just lay there, eyes open but blank
looking like he found it hard to breathe
and not moving a muscle

goodness, at that point of time, my heart was already being crushed
it was just so worrying
they had to bring out the oxygen mask to aid his breathing
everybody was quiet

such knockouts where a fighter is totally unconscious,
and where the brain gets smashed around in the skull,
are rare

which was what was so worrying!

finally, after a few minutes (according to tv editing; t'was probably more)
he moved

aaaaaarrrrggghhhhhhhhh!
i'm not angry, just sad for him
he called his mom after the fight
glad to know he loves his mom
but it was just so freakin' sad!!!

am so not in the mood for homework right now...
:'(

fina

(no more soren in the contender; something even sadder!)

Sunday, March 30, 2008

arsenal won 3-2!
after being reduced to ten men, and two-nil down at half-time

a kind-of scrappy win, i think
but i'll take it
and it was funny at times!
like cesc's pinballing shot
hahah

anyways...

I wanna marry Soren mongkongtong King!!!
hahah
sorry, that just burst out of me
he's just so cute!
especially in specs and a shirt
dashing!

ok, so i'm going crazy over a dude on tv who's a muay thai fighter
a bit too out-there, i bet you're thinking
but he's so nice to watch

la la la la la la la la la la

lookth like fina ith inthane!
lithp; fina ith lithping!

hahahahahah

so totally unprepared for school tmr
i'm going to die.

fina.

do you know what time portals are?
in the movies, it's this gateway through which you leave one world and enter the next dimension
where everything's the same, except... different

anyways, that is what my contact lens experience has been like
not the first time though; the difference has been more pronounced this time round
when i enter the toilet to put on my contact lenses, i have my glasses on
and then when i leave the toilet with the lenses on, everything's bigger
and way weirder
hahah
like the toilet changed my view of the world

and it's so freaky! everything just seems too freakishly big!
my hands, my feet, the plates, A4 paper- all humongous!
i keep thinking that my feet have grown overnight
and it looks too big to me
i don't know about other people- maybe it's normal for things to be that big?
but not to me
i literally was myopic
and have gotten used to living in a smaller world

i don't get why keyboards, which look bigger in "contact" life, have to be so big
they looked fine and were just as easily usable when they were smaller in "specs" world

anyways, i don't understand how people see things
isn't everything too big for logic to you?
it is to me
hahah

fina

The Tale of The Demise of Fina The Do-Good-er

yup, people from my class, i did get scolded by ms k today
for disrupting lecture
with roy
never happened before
and really, it shouldn't have!
not that i'm bitter about it
i didn't do anything wrong
just showed a thumbs up to roy for him doing well in lit
and then i got caught
and she asked the both of us to sit right in the front of lecture
nothing too bad though
heh

what if...: A06 had been allowed to come into lecture?
there wouldn't have been space for us to sit in front
or would us getting caught have even happened?
because any change in any event can mean a change in outcomes

darn
oh well
first time for everything
maybe i should pierce my tongue, next...

(joking! duh!)

=(

*Fulltime* update

thoughts continued:

1. Arsenal have lost for the second time this season, 2-1
darn...
i'm kinda bummed
exciting game though
walcott didn't make an impact
van persie seemed off
adebayor shouldn't have cut his hair!
hleb was on-off
fabregas! still good
almunia still fabulous

2. bacary sagna scored a goal
yay for him!
first goal ever!
and the first goal of the match
good for him!

3. sagna's worm-like dreads
i wonder what they're made of...
they're blond
unlike the rest of his hair
somebody else's hair?
no matter; he still plays better with long rather than short hair
he played badly when he'd just cut his hair
and when he put those fake-dreads back on, he started playing well!
maybe ade should do the same...

==================================================

*Halftime*

my thoughts so far:

1. Yay Reading won yesterday!
they really deserve a break, these hard-working guys
and they're not that close to relegation anymore
yay!!!

2. poor liverpool lost 3-0 against man u!
mascherano sent off- wrongly so in my opinion

3. i hate christiano ronaldo's face everytime he scores a goal
freakin' smug

4. robin van persie has funny chicken arms!
his arms are always left behind,
whether he be running, or kicking, or falling over
you know, like when he's running,
his upper arms will be tucked in, forearms pointing outwards
like chicken wings flapping!
no offense to robin- he's possibly the most good-looking guy in arsenal
(yes, not cesc; cesc's just the most adorable)
but he's just so funny!
it's like he's so tall, and his arms are so long, that they're just left behind wherever he goes!

5. hleb looks sickly
i've always thought this
he looks like a combination of sick/frail/anorexic/malnourished/benign
but he's just so adorable the way he is

6. almunia is darn good!
i love emmanuel almunia: he's my hero!
goalkeepers are always so underrated
but i now realise how hard almunia works, and how good he is at his job
i *heart* almunia! (and cesc; can't forget cesc)

match not done yet
seeyaz!
