i guess now that i think about it, the bbq yesterday was one of those occasions where i remember the good stuff only

yes, i was aware that a lot of not-so-pleasing things happened
like falling on the playground and hitting myself on the metal rungs, or dropping my garlic bread :(
hahah
but the rest of it was fun
even with the little clique-ish divides

keed got pushed into the pool
which was anti-climactic
heh
darn, it was supposed to be a nice swinging-fling into the pool
but the guys chickened out
could've gotten a good picture out of that, too

dan, jerrald and i seriously, seriously tried to have an intelligent conversation
that didn't involve cheese or bimbotic-speak
but we failed miserably
dan ended up talking to herself about the econs lecturer
while jerrald was doing who-knows-what
and i just stood there thinking of an intelligent expertise i can talk to myself about

results: the mixture of our three dna in the air when we talk is just too potently IQ-decreasing. we're bad for the world. kill us off, please.
mwa-HA-HA

blergh

anyways, today i woke up with a soaring headache and a dripping runny nose
still smelling of bbq smoke
went to the bookshop
but i wasn't of much use there
so i went to granny's house and slept
all the way till 8 pm

that was how my day was spent
and i don't regret it one bit
because it represents NOT having to study

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
that, my friends, is how BT1's demise make me feel like doing
i shall indulge in it once more
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

"Isn't anyone interested in a bar-bie-que?"

yay it was fun! a fun fun fun bar-bie-que!!
i am still glowing from the welcome aftermath of the bbq

i didn't get to stay out beyond 12 am
but that was because my parents fetched me on their way home
if not, i guarantee i would have achieved my goal of 12 am
a rebellion against the gender and racial restrictions placed upon me by the societal forces

stop, STOP! no more literature!!!!!!

hmmm.... bowling next, guys?

yay BT1 is over!!!!
(and with that, my life too is so over... results, rnsults, insults to teachers... )

three days of walking in the rain + red bull-drinking has gotten me stuck with a runny/blocked nose at a time when it's completely useless...
I was hoping i'd get sick before maths paper, at the very least
but i didn't; so...

bar-be-que after this
have to leave in an hour or so to get on 966
hmm

not in a mood to type much
i hope tonight turns out to be fun

yo! i'll be sleeping in a few minutes, then waking up and studying...

but before that, here's a very cute video of a dog called sophie who eats air:

--------------------------------------------------------------
and for all mariah carey fans! this is one song i've gotten stuck on for the past few days, and it's super, super, super funny!
it's supposed to be "without you", but, the lady calls it "ken lee"
hahaha

lyrics:
No one ken to ken to sivmen
nor yon clees toju maliveh
When I gez aju zavateh na nalechoo more
new yonooz tonigh molinigh
Yon sorra shooo
yes ee shooo, ooo
Ken leeeee
tulibu dibu douchoo
Ken leeeee
tulibu dibu douchoo
Ken leeeee
ken lee meju more

---------------------------------------------------------------------
and finally, this is one video that has a surprise right in the middle of the song
it's a guy, nick pitera, singing a whole new world
but the best part comes in the middle of the song...
JUST WATCH! hahah

okay, so this is how my holiday week has gone so far: go out, go out, go out
hahaha

saturday: helped out with syf bp band, then off to h. hashim bookshop to help out

sunday: the day i got a bit pissed off;
after which i went walking about imm with syaz

monday: school (uggh), then went bead shopping

tuesday: school, then bead shopping (again...)

wednesday: ice skating! (weee~!) with the D-an and S-teph in DFS and with Jerrald
then,
although i was moolah-less, was cajoled into going to that place in bugis

where you get to stay till 7 for only $18 (plus free drinks! non-alcoholic, duh)
with jerr, pat, jeremy, ze, keed and dan
and now i'm in debt... :-(
had fun (i usually do)
keed with his ear-drum-bursting rendition of staying alive
and just feeling intimidated by pat's vocals (i don't hold it against you, dear! <3)

thursday: went out with syaz, her grandma, aunt,
and diana, who's back from india!
out to vivo; lunch at banquet, and a little bit of just walking about
then went to woodlands library to study
3 till about 8

friday: tried to study
did, for the most part
then just lost steam and felt a little nauseous anyway

and here i am
writing a blog entry
off to hwa chong int. tomorrow for bp band syf practice
tired

huh

Sunday, March 09, 2008

i am so ashamed of bukit panjang government high school students
particularly those in the malay dance cca

i know, i was from that cca
but it seems an incredible lack of disregard and respect for others has risen in these girls

what am i talking about?

i was at bp on saturday with syaz to help choreograph and teach malay dance steps to these girls
so that they can perform it with the band for this year's band syf
and on saturday, they decided to have an extra practice on sunday (today)
so that those who can't make it during the week can learn the dance

and so, forsaking the sanctity of sunday as our rest day, syaz and i agreed to come today
and meet the girls at 10 am

and we arrived on time
nobody was there

we thought," okay, typical of secondary school peeps
we'll just wait a while longer while we have breakfast"

10.20: still nobody shows up
we were getting irritated by this point

finally, around 10.30 or so, one girl shows up
the one in charge of the thing
the only one who bothered to come

(by this time, although my facial expression just showed placidness
in my head, i was thinking "^@&#%?! %#&@*#!!!!!")

we waited for a while more
beyond 10.45 am
and just decided to teach the steps to the one girl
who will teach it to the rest over the week
before the trip to hwa chong on saturday to practice

where i'm supposed to be present
(actually, they wanted us to come on every day that they have a practice this week
but we put our foot down at that)

and now i don't feel like going
and i don't feel like telling them that i'm not coming
just to give them a taste of their own medicine

but i can't
because i'm not that type of person
(yet; i may start working on it, just to learn to assert my authority)

hummppphhhh
all i get out of this are cip hours
other schools hire choreographers
and pay them
and although their piece isn't very long
only like, eight eights or something
(I know, pathetic right)
at least give us the respect we deserve for taking time out of our busy schedules
and our a level preparatons to come and do this

lake placid is boiling over

(sorry it's another complaint-ridden post;
i just need a place to complain and complain and complain)

gp paper
hmm
what can i say?
in fact, when have i ever said anything good after a paper?
hahah

of course, my reaction coming out of the examination hall was,
"uggghhh, lousy paper; wasted half-an-hour on one and half pages
before proceeding to start afresh on a new sheet of paper."

the next coherent thought i had was,
"phew! warm air, please!"
damn it was bloody freezing in there

i did my essay on success.
"Success is all human relations. Do you agree?"
or something along those lines

i'll let you know how it turns out
just remind me first

after that infernal affair was over,
time for lunch
yay! finally!
bones contracting due to coldness + empty stomach = not good

went for the first time to that cafe at the side
near mac's
the nine of us:
pat, dan, ly, jerr, jeremy, ze, bong, yeu keed and i
wasn't halal
so i had soup and garlic bread only
and an over-priced, $2.00 coke light
and steph came!!

went back to school
they were getting back their results
and i still had abominable sl stuff to pass to k

and then DFS tea time...
...at the same cafe
which was fine, because they had activities to do there
fun!
had brownies with ice-cream
yum! and now i'm a debtor
hmm

and now i'm home
tuition in like, half an hour
arrggghhh

fina
(i think if i were someone else talking to me, i'd be irritated.
like poles repel.
lesson: i'll shan't ever find a boyfriend like me.
i'll either kill him, or kill myself.)

yesterday was cca sign-up day
needless to say, my nonentity of a cca had its practice cancelled, so i could go home early
also, k and tan weren't in school
so no lit lessons all day
so we ended at 1!!!

i didn't want to go home so early
and i was hungry, anyways
so i took up jerrald's offer to eat lunch outside school
with the guys
at first there were no girls
except me!
but i smsed dan and liying to come along

but only liying could come
and we met rachel
yay!! another girl!!!
which was a good thing, because liying left before i even bought my food =(
but at least rachel was there

now, you're probably wondering why i'm typing it out in such chronological detail
it's because i'm narrating the story to pat
who doesn't want me to talk because she's reading over my shoulder as i'm typing

okay
that's all
hahah

okay, now that i've de-anger-ized, here's something cute from youtube:

it's this cat called winston getting a bath
his head gets washed only in the last part, for most of the video,
he's just a skinny little cat with a huge fluffy head
hahah!

there's another video too, of him trying to fit his head into a tall glass to try and drink some protein shake
needless to say, he didn't succeed
but underneath all that fur is actually a pretty skinny cat

(that was how i de-anger-ised. pretty effective too, considering how annoyed i was)

sial sial sial sial sial

now, is sial really a curse word?
i don't think it should be

curse words are words with dirty meanings
and sial really doesn't have a dirty meaning
in fact, it's meaning is totally innocent

it basically means "unlucky"
why is that a bad word, i wonder?
because society dictates that it is?

if you knew that sial actually meant "unlucky", would you feel that it was a curse word?
i don't think you would.

But because society has imposed it's interpretation on you, you think whatever it wants you to think, even if you know better.

Now, "fuck", that is a curse word
because it has a dirty, dirty meaning

but of course, how you define dirty has been dictated to you by society as well...

...hmm, now it feels like you can never get away from what society dictates
even gender expectations

because society has told you time and time again that females are the weaker sex
you believe it
even though never have you seen direct evidence that tells you otherwise about your son and daughters

by this point, you would have probably figured out that i'm talking about my parents
and of course, like society, tha's another thing that you can never seem to get away from

unlike american society, where children are given full independence (except for the money part) from their parents ,and given the leeway to do whatever the hell they want,
we asians have to smother the children - female children, particularly - until they get married and are smothered by their husbands

we are never given any rein in this society
unless parents don't care
because when you care, you still have to be dictative
there's no such thing as trusting your child to do what he or she thinks is right
only you know what is right, and that has to be imposed on your child

in this part of the world (or at least, in my household),
society rules, parents dictate, and children are brainless

fina,
who is really angry, but mostly annoyed at parents' insensibility

(now, i'm going to get more flak from them 'rents,
because they frown upon talking about bad stuff openly,
but i don't give a damn, because no matter what they think,
this is one aspect of my life they cannot control - my blog.

so it's my choice what i want to put on my blog, the one that i set up on my own
and that they have absolutely no stake in.
and let me remind them, that their blog is under my control also, so i can do whatever i want to it, including deface or neglect it. and without me, their blog would be shit. so there)

oh no!!! only today have i seen the real extent of the eduardo's injury!

I mean, i've seen pictures from afar, but they weren't very clear, so i wasn't really that affected.

BUT! (and don't look if you've got fragile sensibilities)

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

I saw this!:

Man, was i horrified when i saw this! Poor Eduardo!

and that brave soul of his refused to take morphine to numb the pain

and forgives the guy who did it!

what a cool guy - get well soon!

Anyways, yesterday was a weird (but fun) day

we had service learning in the morning

nothing too taxing

then SEA history

and the K gave us carrots! literally

she gave us a carrot cake and a chocolate cake, and lots of chocolates, some stuffed into plastic carrot containers

now, wasn't that nice of her?

and then we went out to vivio to meet steph

dan, yeu keed, jerrald, zong ze and I

and jarred tagged along

t'was so awkward at first

you know how it is

(if you don't, read dan's blog - then you'll know how it is)lol

but lunch was the great equaliser

nobody was left waiting for anybody, which i'm sure the guys appreciate a lot

and food was great! we can all attest to that (except keed, who couldn't take two chillies)

hmm, isn't it weird that chillies are named as such, when they don't actually make you chill?

they do the opposite, which leaves me wondering...

was there a certain dry humour in naming the chilli such an ironic name?

...

moving on, then we left the guys at best dengki for more girl-shopping-issues

and they left early...

[hey, i just found out that jerrald reads this blog, so:

Hey there Jerrald! HI!!]

getting home on the bus was torture.

torture torture torture

[the repetition of the word "torture" in this stanza emphasises on what the poet want to put across to readers - that the bus trip was utter torture to her, and that it seemed repetitive and never-ending...]

i sat there under the cold air-conditioning for more than one hour and forty minutes

feeling bored out of my mind because i left my bloody ear-phones at home

and couldn't listen to my walkman! @%#& man!

and that was it.

i went to sleep without doing any work except on my coloursplash album

woohoo! collllourrrr- Sspelllasssshhhhhh!!!!!

[the poet uses onomatopoeia to emphasise on the sound that is created from a "splash", which suggests a kind of activeness from the movement and noise of splashing, and thus shows the poet to be excited about the coloursplash] <-- SHITE!

and woke up late; darn

somebody was weird today... was it because of yesterday?

i don't know, and frankly, stop sulking.

yesterday was Service Learning Day

and, although i complained about it so much on this blog
(ok, only as much as i blog here, i.e. not too often)
yesterday was so so so much fun

although there was a little bit of confusion at the start when the cleaning crew didn't have too many people due to the pulling out of the logistics committee to handle the flea market,
it all turned out very fine indeed, if i do say so myself

there was, however, a moment of panic when i thought that i'd lost the keys to the fun house and the utility room of the shelter
bu it turned out that pat had them, so *phew*
imagine, doing work in the hot sun from 9 am to 5 pm
omgoodness, we were all so tired by the time it became 10 am
and the flea market had just started!
but it was fun fun fun fun!
we made a total of $800++, which either surpassed or equalled to their previous record
yay!
and a lot of it came from donations by people who thought we were asking for donations
instead of having a flea market
in fact, this guy who first gave pat and me $10
then came back with another $50!

however, there were a lot of misers who wanted more bang for their buck
we were selling hairclips and stuff at $0.50 a packet
and this lady to five packets and only gave us $0.50!
and although this is for charity, a lot of people tried to bargain things down to such unreasonable prices!
raphael's uncovered a new hidden talent: bugging people till they come out with donations
hahah
most of the donations came from him
he even asked for donations frm monks!
hahah

the kids aspect of the project was fun too
although i wasn't in the part that was taking care of the kids, i managed to talk to a few of them
some of them were really, really cute!
like these two indian boys who were always together
i didn't manage to catch their names, but they were really fun
and this girl called sabrina - was she the one who said that k looked like theodore from alvin and the chipmunks? hahah
and there were these two malay girls - amirah and ain - who so totally had a crush on roy
they were following him everywhere and clinging to him; so cute!
and finally, the kid (might have been sabrina) who beat somebody (won't say who)
my hero!

we left, all of us feeling satisfied with a job well done
the ironic thing was , the only thing that needed as much planning as i'd done in the entire project was only the cooking part - and even then i didn't have too big a part to play in that because ms k and shauna were handling it!
the rest- the programme with the kids, the flea market - was all played by ear
so all the planning and stress and scoldings and shit that i went through before this
was all for naught
hmm

anyways, after the thing,
despite being sticky from all the sweat and stuff, a group of us went to heeren
for a night of *lalala*
hahah
pat and jeremy practiced their competition song
while the rest of us just sat there revering her voice
and feeling our self-esteem go down...
hahah
but still fun
the sad part was when i realised i was $5 bucks short
now i owe pat some dough!
hahah
i don't know how we managed to sit for four hours in the same place
but we did
and we went home quite late
in fact, i reached home at 11!
but that was quite fast considering that we ended only at 10

now, it's time for studying
and darned homework

shoot

Happy Valentines Day/ Friendship Week, ya'll!
i know, i don't post that frequently... too tired and busy...

Sunday night: went to dinner with the fam'ly to celebrate bro's birthday
had it at the carousel at royal plaza on scotts.
i know, the second year in a row we're doing it there, but really, in singapore, there's nowhere else to go for a full halal buffet.
i ate until i vomited, literally (but not a lot - just that bit of custardy dessert that was making me feel sick)
--my tea-- --the chicken rice i took from the buffet... ate only the rice with a bit of sambal... haha-- --camwhore moment with sis - at her insistence, of course. like, duh...--

Monday: start of friendship week in school
each class got a friendship week cake! some walnut thing that was really nice
and i had to recce the home where we'll doing the service learning project
and got scolded in front of the home afterwards... by k, of course
--the cake--

Tuesday: Surprise your friends day... or something along those lines...
i gave dan, pat, liying the cute chocolate hearts that i bought at the carousel.
a coincidence, i swear- i had no idea it was gonna by a surprise day

(and yup, no picture... i don't have to have a picture for every day, ya'know)

Wednesday: confess your secret day
there was a huge goalpost in the cafeteria (a real one), and people write their confessions of love or something to peers or teachers there and hang it up there
omgoodness, some of them were so funny,
like: "you know why her face is like that? Because she smashed her face when she fell for you"
!!
and when somebody wrote: "i stare at you all the time during math lecture", somebody else wrote below it, "yea, please stop doing that"
and of course there were more... joshua and roy wrote a critical analysis of one of the poems somebody posted... hilarious

Thursday: Valentines Day
the first surprise i got was when i arrived at the auditorium for assembly
the seats where my class was supposed to sit had long-stemmed red roses on them, placed atop a piece of paper with our (girl) names
and guess who did that for us girls? roy and joshua!
and they came to school early just for that
uh-huh, so sweet of them, unusually
and a few other peeps in class brought chocolates for everybody
dan, liying and i gave roy and joshua chocs in return for the roses
classes ended late, so dan and i had dinner with steph instead of lunch
ate at thai express- yum!

--the rose--

Friday: Best Friend Day
we had straight classes till 11.30, since we moved pe up from 3 pm
and that was it! i went home
fell asleep in the bus, and some cjc boy had to wake me up when we reached wdlands interchange... so embarassing!

(and dan lent me her lomography coloursplash camera! *swoons*)

--school-- (by my cam-phone)

and that's it so far
of course, scoldings everyday (expected)
and homework done in school
but it's been a pretty nice week

yo yo yo! happy chinese new year, all!

the dikir performance yesterday had mixed results

the first one was... whack? because we ran out of time to get ready, so most of us made it on stage just in time for the curtains to open- some had to run to their places when the curtains were already open. And some of us made mistakes. thankfully, i was lucky enough not to be the forgetful, unfocused klutz i usually am during practices.

i couldn't see anything during the performance, because my glasses were off. so whenever i was smiling, i was just smiling into a well of darkness beyond the brightly lit stage.

omg, somebody's hair fell off when she was running to her place. and some people simply had no time to put their hair on. oh, yah- and all of us forgot to put on lipstick for the performance.

the second performance was wayy better. but such a waste considering we were performing only for JC1s then- not worth it. jc2s were of course more enthusiastic. but it went mostly without a glitch.

we got atikah J1 who fractured her wrist to record the j1 performance for us; it's now on youtube! wach it here
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yiEaJN0Afo)

I'm gonna miss dikir practices so so much!!! They were all so much fun; when's the next performance? Teacher's day? Let's start practicing now! hahaha

On a more somber note, my brother got into an accident today. He crashed into the back of a car on the PIE, and flew off his bike. Luckily, the car behind him could slow down in time, and helped cordon off the part where he was lying on the road. The scary thing was, that he was in the fast lane of the expressway- the rightmost lane. Thank goodness the other cars weren't going that fast. He's alright though, my bro. Just a few scratches on his forearms, back and leg. And his bike just lost its tank, nothing major. But darn was it scary to think about. And i guess now i have no chance of ever being allowed to get my own bike.

Sunday, February 03, 2008

hmm, after my post this morning, i seem to have forgotten what i wanted to write as my answer...

well, it was something along these lines: ever since this teacher became our CT, i've started to become angrier and angrier and angrier. dealing with this person has somehow made me more bitter and more prone to show my anger - within school! never before have i ever been this angry this frequently in school.

I remember in secondary school, my friends said that i just somehow couldn't get angry. and it was kinda true. i just seemed to be able to tolerate things better than most people could. but now... now my patience has snapped. i'm not able to take anymore crap while keeping quiet. i have to find a way to let it out.

and i have. through something so mischievously juvenile and childish- but still a stress reliever. and i've come under fire for it - by someone i feel is kind of hypocritical himself (but it's not up to me to tell him) - but it still is the only way i can stop myself from being angry all the time, and feeling bad all the time.

there. that's the gist of it, i think. wow, has it been so nice to write that all out.

fina
i think everyone is bitchy. even me. or maybe especially me.

that's because discussing someone without that person's knowledge is considered bitching. even if talking about that something means that you're discussing your problems in the open.

i don't talk bad about someone behind their backs for fun. i don't do it out of malice. when i do talk bad about someone, it's because they have done something to warrant it. and anger (or annoyance) is best let out into the air, rather then just boiling inside you.

don't worry, whoever reads this blog. i don't bitch about friends. only teachers annoy me the most. ah- my classmates will know who i mean. but Shhh it's a secret.

fina

p.s. i've a confession to make. this week has been the bitchiest week i've ever had in my life. perhaps because this week that person did so many things to irk us all to bits. and i resent that irksomeness so much.

p.p.s. ahhh!!! since when has fina become like this??!!! i'll tell you next post...

omgoodness

i don't know why, i just feel so tired out by service learning

stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid service learning

i don't know what needs to be done, i don't know what needs to be organised, i don't know what ideas to choose
i just don't know anything

aaarrggghhhhhhhhhhh!
and of course ms k will scold us for whatever reason- that's already become a given

so what is the probability i will retain my sanity given that ms k will scold me no matter what?
P( sanity retained | ms k scolds)= 0

hahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahh
i don't know what i'm laughing about
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

and of course there's also the fact that some people don't get it despite every single bit of info i've provided! it just made me so MAD!!!! i've sent everybody e-mails detailing the committees, the budget, the timelines, the itinerary- everything! and some are asking me funny questions. haaaaaaah... you don't think i'm irked by this stupid service learning? hello, if anyone should be irked, it should be me.

okay, sorry, i'm just befuddled and frustrated by stupid service learning

haish

fina
hey

i've just been feeling so tired and busy this week, i haven't been able to update this blog. In fact, i completely forgot about this blog...

everyday, the routine is: wake up early, go school early, line-up early (royal k's orders), go class, suffer, go home late, check e-mail and moodle, sleep, wake up, do homework, sleep...

and it's become such a part of my routine now to sleep from 6 to 9.30 or 10pm, then wake up and do homework till 3, then sleep again. some nights, i don't even have the time for a nap; it's just do work till 4 and sleep.

uuurrrggghhhh- that was me stretching. just so sore...

anyways, being the service learning representative has put things into such perspective. before, i was just super scared of ms k when she scolds. but now... well, i'm not exactly immune to it, but i've developed a resentment to over-ride my fear of her whenever she scolds me. so i don't feel bad about being scolded now (unless i feel responsible towards my classmates for the scolding), i just feel that she's being unfair to us in not giving us a say. and there's also the fact that the way she scolds is somewhat funny, as borge pointed out... haha

okay... got loads of homework to do... and i have tuition tonight...

i know this post is not particularly informative. i'm just to indifferent to write too long. except that helping syaz with malay dance was so much fun! i miss malay dance so, so much. invite me again! i'll come when i can! =)

happy belated new year everyone!!!
the move from year 2007 to 2008 was a smooth one
i mean, nothing untoward happened on 1st Jan, and there was no trouble adapting to the immediate change in years
one day it was 2007, the next it was 2008
but afterwards....

school life has changed alot
classes have picked up pace, teachers are becoming more strict with my class (and sometimes unfairly so; they just have this presupposition about the class and react violently towards that)
the S in DFS has left :'(
and with danielle doing council duty, it's just me, pat and ly left to each other

i think this year can and will be classified as a "no-life" year
we have exams every four weeks
yes, exams, not tests
one whole block of exams for every single subject we take

as if that's not grating enough on our nerves, we'll be living through constant paranoia in school, now that we have Royal K as our CT
*sighs*

and i have tuition, two classes: maths, by this crazy person, and econs by my brother beloved
which i don't think will constitute as tuition, though
and i now have to study hist at least once every two days to be able to keep up!

i profusely thank god that this will be going on only for another 10-11 months
(unless i get Us for the block test and have to be demoted to year 1, at which point i will promptly self-destruct and either kill myself or quit school then and there)

the week before school started was such bliss; such undisturbed heaven,
spending time with my cousins every minute of the day, and going to escape themepark, vivo, terminal 3, the beach, the playground...
and now reality has set in, and life's suckiness has finally deigned to show itself

went on an outing with diana and syaz today
syaz and i were late meeting diana... sorry, beb!
lol

exchanged gifts, and then we ate!
we did nothing untowardly today
just walked round bugis, and arab street and bras basah
my feet ache at the end of the day, but what the heck
shouldn't have worn heels- i wanna buy flats!!!
(but money no enough, unless anybody's got second-hand flats in good condition, in size 8/9 to sell to me at a cheap price... anyone? anyone at all?)

i wore my sister's $6 top from hong kong before i realised it was falling apart at the seams quite literally
such bad quality sewing, but what do you expect at $6?

anyways, tomorrow i'll be sleeping at my cousins' place till sunday/ monday
yay!

maybe i'll be able to finish my homework there
maybe? what maybe?
of course i won't
hahah
and to add to that, i'll be missing arsenal's game against everton
:(

and to add to that, my father's discontinuing our contract with scv
so no more arsenal!!!!
*bawls* *howls* *climbs up the building and threatens to jump off it*
nooooooooOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
no, not my arsenal! not my beloved arsenal!
arsenal is my life!!!!! :'((

arrgghhh
i'll have to persuade him to do otherwise
i have to!
he's taking away my life....

fabby died!!!!
i woke up this morning/afternoon, and he was lying on his side!!!
*bawls*

his fins was stuck in the filter earlier this morning, but my mum had extricated him and he was fine
his tail was bleeding but other than that, he was swimming fine
then my mum put him in a separate container, and shortly after, he died...

oh no!!!
now i have only one oranda goldfish (the white+ red growth on head variety) left
but at least hlebby looks strong now

darn...

fina-la-dida

p.s. let's have one moment of silence for poor fabby aka fabregas, who was such a brave and confident oranda goldfish, and had little fear of fingers pressing against the side of the tank.

p.p.s. now i'm thinking of buying a fabby 2.0 to replace him + three guppies + another fighting fish. fish never enough!
it's 2.30 now, but i cannot fall asleep
i've just been so distressed that i've been crying and crying
all because i read about what mrs. claudine tan is going to do to us next year

if we don't get a C grade or above for our holiday assignment, we won't be allowed to enter lit tutorials

gosh
i've been getting an average of d/e grade for lit, with a few Cs somewhere
and it got me thinking: how am i going to make it through this crucial year of jc
if i won't be allowed into tutorials to learn?

especially since the teachers i have seem so determined not to help us
yes, you teach us the content, but how about teaching us how to pass?
teachers are there supposedly to help you through your studies
and yet here they are threatening not to teach us if we make mistakes in our work

never before have i felt so hopeless going into a new school year
even in secondary school, where there are way more subjects to take than in jc, i've never felt so hopeless

now i'm beginning to think i'm not cut out for school at all
no, not even poly
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know

that claudine tan is such an abominable, hateful person
she's not a teacher, no matter what her job title

so arsenal won the match against tottenham
after a flat first half, they came back fighting in the second half
(though they weren't their best)

almunia saved a penalty! woooO!!!!
f* lehmann, almunia rocks!!!!
darn, watching arsenal play just makes my heart feel full to bursting!

and reading won too, so it's all good

except... one of my fishes is sick
one of the little red ones
he has a swollen eye, for some reason
all red and round

and fabby and hlebby (named after fabregas and hleb) are missing some scales!
how??

well...
i feel so drained
went to the zoo with my sister and cousins today
received superbly horrible service at that restaurant in the zoo
yup, that placed called forest fare
yea, i know we're just four kids
and the fact that we don't look rich certainly doesn't help
but shit lah, we are still your customers, patrons of the restaurant you're working in
and we're paying for your salary!!!!!
can't you give us a little more respect?
never have i been treated like dirt, such as this!
it totally left a bitter taste in my mouth
i couldn't enjoy the buffet at all (which, btw, didn't have that much choice! lousy... boycott!!!)
in total, we spent $103... what a ripoff! i hate that place so much
bleargghhhh

fina-la-dida

p.s. if you do decide to leave, i'll miss you so, so much!!! but you've got to do what's right for you... and if the path you're on right now isn't working for you, then maybe something else will work better... but i'll be so sad if you're gone!!! :( haha

i feel so guilty!!!!!!!!
gacckkk!
haha

today was supposed to be a day of grocery shopping only, at giant tampines
we were supposed to be done by 5
somehow, though, at 5 o'clock, we were not at giant... but at a pet store!
buying fish!
and we spent $200 on fish and supplies!
how???!!!!
all i asked for was a fighting fish
and suddenly my father got the idea of having a small fish tank in our living room
and the money poured down the drain just like that...
all this, from a request to own a $5 fish that doesn't require a tank or filters
haiyoh...

and it's not just that that we overspent on

we eventually did go to giant to grocery shop
and usually, when i come along, the bill rings up to about $100
which is bad enough
but today we spent $250!!!!!
oh my goodness!!!!
and just before that we'd pledged to tighten our belts and spend less
haaaahhhhhH!!!!!!!!

i feel so guilty
because out of that $250, about $80 was on unneccessary items that my sister and i put into the shopping cart
darn
i'm a bad daughter

bad, bad daughter...

:(
fina-the-unfilial

p.s. day of baking for hari raya tmr

p.p.s. full schedule from then on till tuesday... and school's reopening soon!
and my homework is still left untouched!!! @$!%&!!!

written on sunday night, 16 dec, but not posted till now due to stupid internet-related problems:

oh my goodness! i so totally eat my words
turns out hady did have a chance at winning asian idol!
i was so gobsmacked!
i thought mike mohede of indonesia would win
and i was rooting for abhijeet

but hady beat all odds to win!
i had him pegged down as the one with the lowest chance of winning
but he won!!!!
i guess asia has more girls than i thought... heh heh heh

in other, just-as-exciting news, arsenal beat chelsea!!
yea!!!
former-chelsea man, arsenal's captain william gallas, scored the decisive goal in the 45th minute
the entire match was littered with drama,
foul after foul, with a fight somewhere during the match that got lampard and terry of chelsea booked with yellow cards- man, such an eventful match

and francesc fabregas got punched by that bloody asscole (ashley cole of chelsea) at the end of the match
granted, fabregas did foul him, but why retaliate with a punch, asscole?
the arsenal fans hate you enough as it is

anyways, poor liverpool lost to ManUre
darn
i was rooting for liverpool to win
i thought torres would come through, but they didn't make it
=(
so bloody manure are still hot on arsenal's heels...

p.s. we picked up my cousins from australia at the airport today, and had a popeye's chicken feast! yaaayyyy!!!

i hope indian idol abhijeet wins!!!

i know jaclyn victor sings best, but i find her so annoying
she sings at people, not to people
and no feelings at all!
and the competition is Asian IDOL, not Asian Singer, so i don't want to idolise someone who annoys me

on the other hand, i like the type of songs abhijeet sings, all those hindi songs
hahah
comes from watching all those hindi movies

hady... no chance, so why bother?
(my goodness, i feel so bad for stating the obvious!
sorry, hady fans!)

p.s. maths tuition now... ugghhhh)

i think i downed around 20 crackers without pause
and i want more!
but i'm getting a sore throat from all the jam, so...

the jam is seriously so sweet, with a ton of blueberries
we got it at ikea, believe it or not
and at only $4++!
cheaper than the usual french kind that comes in that tall, hard-to-access bottle

asian idol going n right now, so catch ya later!

Rules to follow: 1. Do the following without complains
2. Choose 2 people to do this after you completed yours
3. Leave a tag on the person's tag board to say he/she's been tagged

Favourites Colour(s): hmm…blue? Sometimes certain greens, certain pinks, or certain purples. Lol.

Food: Sushi, lasagne, raw or grilled salmon, roasted/fried/steamed chicken, steak, dessert (yumm!!!): butterscotch ice-cream, mint choc chip ice-cream, chocolate chip cokkie dough ice-cream, chocolate pudding, crème brulee, crepes, etc, etc, etc… hehehe

Song(s): a lot; they change with my mood. But I find that I can never turn down listening to The Killers

Movie(s): No particular favourites, but the ones that I can watch frequently are: The Breakfast Club, The Land Before Time, Moulin Rouge, Where The Heart Is, Anastasia…

Dated your best friend: to echo syaz: “LOL! That is impossible. My best friends are girls and im no lesb. hahaha!” hehe

Broken the law: Of course; who hasn’t? Nothing horribly unethical though. I only littered a few times, jay-walked, consumed food in the MRT… Petty things like that

Been Arrested: God forbid that I should ever do anything that warrants arresting!

Kissed someone you don't know: No, not part of our culture

5 things you are wearing: black soccer shorts, ratty old blue U.S. Polo tee, bracelet, glasses, germs… lol

Things you've done today: woke up late, ate, watched tv, gone on the comp, organised folders, ate, gone on the comp…

Things you can hear now: Muffled voices from the next room, clicketty-clacks, not much else

Things you do when bored: Listen to music, read, daydream, pretend to sleep…

Yay! Thank goodness that’s over.

Now, I’d tag people to do this quiz, but I’m all for pro-choice, so if you want to do it, just do it.

day before yesterday was my birthday dinner
nowhere special though
i'd wanted to eat at sakura international buffet, because birthdays usually call for buffet
instead, we ate at the breeks cafe at causeway point

not bad
i had a chilled australian rib-eye with black pepper sauce
for something that's $21, you'd expect something bigger
but at least it made up for it in its thickness
one thick slab
okay-tasting, i guess
the fish was nice, though

in the end, we paid about the same amount of money that you'd expect a buffet for 4 would cost
(unless it was at the carousel; that would have set us back about $200)

an okay birthday, i suppose

although, something detestable happened that day
some stupid, fucking insolent kids threw sand through my living room window!
the sand was poured into an old glove, and unceremoniously hurled through my window- whilst i was sitting underneath it!
rather, i was lying down on the couch underneath the window
so i got a lot of sand on my bare legs
and the entire living room floor, all the way to my dining room, was littered with sand

ROOOAAAAAARRRRR!!!!
that made me so mad!
well, it made me sad, at first
in my mind, i was groaning and whining: why today, on my birthday?!!! life sucks!!
haha
then i came to my senses and realised that i was supposed to be angry
and angry i am!!!!!!!!!!!

stupid, insolent, incorrigible asshole, juvenile delinquents!!
my carpet, couch, table, all dirtied because of you!!!

fina-colada

p.s. ice-skating soon?

p.p.s. two days late: arsenal beat steaua bucharest 2-1! not only that, robin van persie and abou diaby have returned to the pitch!!!
thank goodness =)

p.p.s. my internet has gone bonkers, so i can't stay online too long, else it's just switch off.
darn
... happy birthday to me...

I got back from HK last saturday evening, but i hadn't really gotten the chance to go online at all since the computer had been annoyingly dominated by the sister and brother. Needless to say, the trip was a humongous amount of fun, dolloped with a bit of irritating (which usually comes about when you're travelling with parents who don't know anything about the country you're visiting and thus have resulted in you being utterly lost).

I'd wanted to shop a lot, using $300 of my own money. Unfortunately, I'm not a good shopper. So i fell way below budget, and only bought a few things. Damn. Haha. And I only shopped in the cheap stores- like the Ladies Market, which isn't even a store at all, lol. But it's ok, because it meant I could buy more things! Which I didn't; I only bought a bag, a jacket, an Arsenal jersey, and 4 tees. WTF?! Hahah.

Of course, when you're in HK and Shenzhen, you must do as the locals do, which is buy fakes. So we did. I've never been much of a fake-goods-buying-type person, but it's fun, laughing over the funny spelling mistakes on the bag- like Christian Diar, or Dolge&Gabbana, and Ciderella. Hahahaha. I got a Dolge bag (I'm not proud of it), and that's the only fake brand I'll ever buy. Hahah.

Anyways, the trip there began with a little bit of a hitch. Okay, a lot of hitches. First, someone, other than I, was caught accidentally trying to bring a pair of scissors onto the plane in his/her bag. Then we found out that the tvs in the plane were out of order, which meant the flight there would be boring as hell. All I could do to occupy myself was to continue my knitting (which is doubly boring). Then I realised I was sick, with a runny nose that didn't seem to want to slow down (and did not slow down until four days after).

Add all those problems to getting lost, and finding it difficult to find halal restaurants (because they were very far from our hotel), and my nose peeling on thursday from blowing my nose too much- and you have a seemingly very sian trip. But it was fun.

Things I enjoyed:
1. the cold, even though my nose didn't appreciate it too much. Singapore felt too warm after that, even in the air-conditioned airport.
2. the fact that I was in a different country, and people there didn't look like me
3. visiting "window of the world" in Shenzhen, where there were many replicas of key monuments of the world (including the merlion!). So i got to visit Paris, Spain, Italy, England, New York, etc.
4. riding all modes of public transportation available, such as a cab, a public bus, and a train.
5. shopping for cheap stuff that you can get for a very good bargain!
6. sitting in the window seat in an airplane, and looking down at clouds below me <3 style="font-weight: bold;">Things I found... interesting:
1. the deplorable hygiene of the people in Shenzhen. Everywhere, people can just start digging their noses in public. And they blow the phlegm from their nose on to the floor!
2. the fact that people in Shenzhen just throw their trash anywhere. After eating: no dustbin? No problem! Just throw your satay stick onto the floor!
3. pedestrians lack of regard for oncoming traffic. People in Shenzhen cross the road anytime they like, even in front of a fast-moving van.
4. that people always ask if we were malaysian or indonesian, and look surprisingly surprised when we say we're singaporean- even our tour guide!
5. that sales people try to get us to buy more expensive stuff when they find out we're singaporean

Shenzhen was... interesting, for sure, but it added a little spice to the trip. I would definitely repeat the whole trip over again!

Of course, I didn't just buy things for myself. But unlike my trip to Beijing, I didn't buy souvenirs for everybody I know, just a few key people. My cousins, my aunts, grandparents, and: Dan, Steph, Syaz and Diana. Nothing mega expensive though. I am still a student.

fina

p.s. Arsenal lost! as did Liverpool! ??? what freakish results, man. Arsenal lost 2-1 to Middlesborough, and Liverpool lost 3-1 to Reading??!!! So now no team is unbeaten in the BPL. Hleb, Cesc, Flamini, Robin, Abou- come back!

p.p.s. check out the picture of me and my fab4 arsenal jersey: here. the guy who printed out the tee put it on his site. and he gave me a free arsenal badge!
