yesterday, met up with syaz and diana
and went to banquet to eat
you know, just some of our usual activities
hahah

then we went to syaz's house to help her make pizza (yum!)
where we'd meet up with inessa
and (yay!) received a keychain from canada, along with a barcelet and a nice-smelling maple leaf

i didn't tell my parents till i was there, and i did get a little telling off for that,
but i'm none the worse for wear
no big hoo-ha
haha

yesterday was fun; it's been a while since all four of us were able to meet up together
got home near ten, but my parents didn't scold me
*sigh of relief*
hahah

wasn't sure whether to come to school today
but since everybody else was either pon-ing or performing, i'd be left alone if i did come
so i didn't hahah
now i wonder if my ct would notice... and ask for mc when school reopens?
fat chance, since she'd have to chase about half the class for mc
(at least, i think that many people aren't coming)
parents' letter won't be accepted, unless the parent calls

so here are my options:
1. wait for her to ask for an mc from me when school reopens, and not give her one (i'd get a scolding)
2. wait for her to ask for an mc from me when school reopens, and give her one (i'd have to fake an illness at the polyclinic)
3. wait for her to ask for an mc from me when school reopens, and give her a parents' letter ('d still get scolded)
4. ask my parents to call her, so she'd accept a parents' letter (i'd get scolded by my parents for not going school)

i was supposed to see her today for eom
and i have to see her next week for bloody wr!
*sigh, but of consternation*

on another note, yesterday was the pilot run of my group's pw event
went okay, despite the lack of a proper classroom in which to hold the event
gave out kinder bueno white chocolate to the participants, as a token of our appreciation
took pictures, but i have no idea how to load it on the computer
??how??

and on another note, my bro got last in the 110m hurdles at the iaaf world championships of track and field
hahah
but it was good that he at least made it there
him, and another singaporean, a girl 100m sprinter
and he ran in the lane next to the olympic champion for tha event, lu xiang
(still can't believe that happened)

the bro's the guy in white, kinda blur, in last place
(in the lane beside the famed lu xiang in red)
he's not the intended subject in the photograph
but proud of him we still are
heehee

he brought back keychains (yay!) without me having to ask him to
so i'm happy
what i'm not happy about is the stupid army camp for not giving him a week of leave
because over there,
the organisers gave every athlete a free pass to travel the city by train, bus or whatever, a map, a brochure of places of interest, and a 50% discount to enter universal studios japan!
and he couldn't go to all those places because the camp wanted him home right after running the race
wat a waste

now i've got nothing else to say
(actually i do, but it doesn't fit the flow of this post)

ARSENAL WON!!!!!
hahah
two-days-late news, but still...

and my hero Francesc FABregas scored the winning Arsenal goal!!
hehe
he was so adorable after he scored the goal
and what hleb did to him afterwards...
no, it's not as dirty as it sounds; all he did was pretend to playfully punch him in the jaw

yep, there is life after henry, and somehow it feels happier now
heehee

anyways, i only found out about the match after it began, so i didn't really have a premonition-esc feeling about the match
but i did get an excited feeling that they were about to score a goal, about 5 minutes before the actually scored
yea!!!

updates: bad luck befell me once again on saturday
to complete the cycle of three bad-luck days (this is nonsense, i know)

went out with syaz on saturday to go jalan-jalan
all that was fine; we went roaming from geylang serai to raffles place to city hall
but what happened in the train afterwards...
really had me freaked out and annoyed

okay, here's a run-down of what happened:
i sat down between syaz and this guy who was sleeping
and decided to read my book
then the guy kept leaning in to my shoulder
so i kept inching away
even after i'd leaned as far as i could into my left, the guy on my right kept leaning in
finally, he moved away and leaned to his right, towards another girl
i decided to devise a plan of action, in case he decided to try anything funny again

and soon enough, he did start leaning towards my shoulder
so i used the corner of my hard-cover book, really sharp, and used it as a buffer between us
and it worked for a while, and he leaned back towards the other girl
then he came back again, and this time, he kept leaning in to the book's corner, even though i rammed it into his shoulder a few times
and he went back to the other girl, and he leaned back into me, and so on...
( it was a really long train ride; from marina bay to woodlands)
the last occasion he did that, i was so annoyed that i kept shoving my elbow into his shoulder, and shifting around to shrug him off
he was so disgusting, even other passengers were staring, and i pitied the poor girl whom he kept leaning in to

second bad-luck incident:
scalded my thumb in super-hot steam after i got home
cooled it off under cool water, then applied aloe-vera gel for burns
feels just like new now
yay =)

anyways, then arsenal won, and my day balanced out again
*smileys*

you know how in (sci-fi) intergalactic travel, spaceships cannot just travel to a location thousands or millions of lightyears away because the people would die before they get there?
takes too long
so they use wormholes to get to where they want to go
for the uninitiated, let me try to explain

imagine space as a piece of cloth, and u want to get from one point on the cloth to another point
what's the fastest way to get there?
the conventional answer would be a straight line
but no, that's not what wormholes are
if you fold the cloth (without creasing it) such that the two points meet, well, that is the fastest way to travel between two points in space
and that is what wormholes are
below is a picture of this so its easier to understand

why am i talking about this?
well, wormhole was the first word that came to my mind when i thought about this week
well, second; the first word was suay
but i can't describe my week as suay cos i realised that a few good things happened
so wormhole was the word
cos the week went the quickest way between very good and vey bad
haha

good things that happened:
  • got my new phone ~wee! =) w880i. even now, i'm so amazed by my phone that to buy a new mp4 player now, would just overwhelm me with too much technology. hahah
  • he, himself & him got reprimanded for some of the wrong things he's done. and the class had a discussion about him with the teacher, which allowed the class to let out their feelings about him to a teacher. (i do pity him, though, for reasons unknown)
  • got to eat tau huey (if that's how you spell it) twice this week - more than enough. hahah but the tau huey trips were fun; got to hang out with some other classmates, while making much noise
  • got to eat roti jala this week - twice! and both times, i got the one of the last three sets left. phew!
  • made myself happy by spending $3 on popular card (so cheap!) and then splurging on $12.30 worth of notebooks, pens and markers. now, my doodlingcan be super-psychedelic!
  • made new friends at rec. bowling, finally. nice people :)

i guess that's about it though
and then the bad things happened:
  • thursday pe: rolled my ankle, once when i landed after jumping to catch a ball and colliding with someone, the second when, after i'd rejoined the game, i was running after the ball. really sucks; my left ankle's still aching
  • yesterday, while shopping around causeway for more clothing, and after i'd purchased my sister's b'day present at jigsaw puzzle world, i lost my atm card. AARRGGH!! it's one of my most prized possessions, the source of my freedom, giving me the freedom to but what i want - and now it's gone!
  • found out i have to fork out $965 more for bowling - unless subsidised by school. for bag, shoes, ball and bowling camp. *sighs* and already the bro is complaining about me joining an expensive sport
  • strained my left thigh muscle in bowling from all the bending it had to do, and my left arm hurts (i don't know why, it's not like i carry the ball in my left hand)
  • lost my atm card!!!
yesterday, steph said i looked sad. must have been an ominous sign of the terrible tragedy to come. nearly spilled a few tears over the stupid blue card. i made a report at the customer service station, and i think this group of girls around 12 y.o. hanging around the shop found it. well, i'll wait till wednesday to see if anybody reports my card; if not, back to the bank to make a new one

thinking back on it, it may have been a blessing in disguise, since i think that i've been spending too much lately. maybe it's a sign for me to stop spending. maybe i just won't make another new card
we'll see

gotta go get ready
meeting syaz to go buy some stuff

laterz

i hate blackburn, i detest the way the play, i loathe their players
HATE, HATE, HATE blackburn

arsenal versus blackburn drew, as i knew they would
just the gut feeling (i feel it in the chest, rather) i have before every game
arsenal's passing was better than last game's, i think
but not as good as it should be

and blackbloodyburn...
play dirty
never have i seen (or remembered from recent games) so many fouls and dirty tricks and just plain bad attitude
the worst disciplinary record or sth last season
bentley and savage (and to a lesser degree, samba and nelsen) suck ass

though, i must admit, i was impressed by santa cruz of blackburn
he kept composed throughout the game, no wiles or riles
and i thought he was cute (hehe, felt bad for thinking that of the enemy)

now, to me, blackburn's enemies are my friends, unless they are bolton (if they play against each other, i hope they foul each other to oblivion)

when i watch a game, i don't look only at the game
i watch faces, and body language
and i have such a soft spot for hleb
aliaksandr's face looks like one that doesn't get angry without a reason
he looks like he has a good temperament, and did not get caught in the scuffles between blackburn and arsenal
i thought he looked kind of frail when i first saw him, u noe, the bone structure and all
but i like his character

compare him to van persie and fabregas
as much as i like/love fabregas, he does have such a quick temper
and with van persie got into the thick of the action against dunn/dumm and whoever
but i must say, i do, truly, madly, deeply, have a crush on fabregas
remembered a quote relating to him from twelfth night
that i posted before, but shall post again:
"what a deal of scorn looks beautiful in the contempt and anger of his lips"
hehe

walcott... has such a baby face
dunno why, even when he plays with traore who's only a few months older than he, he just looks like the explicit baby of the team
him and clichy, even though clichy is 22
walcott impressed me today though =)

lehmann, lehmann (lemon, i call him)
why another blunder?
wasn't fulham enough?
*sighs*

and stupid bloody blackburn
so violent and rough
i wondered throughout the game, what kind of supporters are blackburn supporters?
that like the dirty ways?
i'd say they probably are not peace-preaching, environmentally-concerened people
the environmental part... because people who care about the environment would want peace, and that's not what blackburn promote
barbarians, hooligans probably, the whole lot of them
[omg, i'm discriminating indiscriminately! against my principles!! oh no, i'm suffering from footballclub-icism!!]

and (YAY!!!) manchester united lost!
against manchester city!
i dunno what happened to them; first draw against reading, and now this
i tell u, must be the community shield curse
happy for obvious reasons =)
the manchester part of manchester city's name put me off supporting them at first,
then i thought, what the heck
and manchester city's goalkeeper (david schmeichel) was cute ^.^
however, should manchester united (or even chelsea, for that matter), go against blackburn or bolton, there's no doubt who i'd support: not blackburn
that's how much i dislike them

my second post of the day
must be some kind of record, looking at how rarely i post these days
feeling kind of sick from getting hit in the head by a stick
concussed... (haha. [inside joke])

that's all for now
fina <3

times like just now, i wished my gut (chest) feelings were wrong
hoped arsenal'd win

p.s. saw two rainbows in the course of a week
and am no longer atm machine of the group
haha ;)

yay! caught them fireworks on friday night!!!
altho... it was in the middle of a traffic jam
hahah
we were abit late (abt 15 mins before the fireworks were supposed to go off) just after praying
and got caught in a stupid jam going towards the marina bay sth or other
i tell u, every single vehicle was at a standstill
traffic was not slow-moving, or crawling, or even inching little by little; it was quite dead

9.15: by then, loads of people had gotten out of their cars and walked off into the distance to catch the fireworks
we remained in the car to accompany my dad (y? because my mum said so)
by then we'd given up hope of catching the fireworks and were planning to turn in to the expressway instead of continuing to marina
then we saw fireworks go off in front of our eyes (quite literally)
YAY!!!
turns out we were near where one of the places the fireworks were to be launched
so after 5 minute watching from inside the car, everybody got out of their vehicles to ooh and ahh at the fyre beauties

my favourites were the really fine types
like gold dust or sprinkles of whatever
and they had jupiter-shaped ones!
my dad gave stupid names to the different types
like stardust or porcupine, or coconut tree
all quite self-explanatory
after the fireworks ended in a crescendo of red, gold and green starbursts,
suddenly traffic started moving
was it a miracle? were the fireworks the culprits of the jam? or stupid drivers who parked their cars in the middle of the road to watch the fireworks?

needless to say, drivers whose cars were way behind ours who had walked ahead to view the fireworks because their view had been blocked by trees began running back to their cars lest their car became the only non-moving car in the middle of the road

then saturday...
met syaz at woodlands station in school uniform at 9 am
to go to smu accountancy school's conference hall 2 for some mendaki club seminar
had breakfast at long john's first
saw two other saints there, out of the whole list that were supposed to be there
and had a bp reunion with siti (tjc), aisyah (ijc), zawiyah (pjc)
and while all of us (cept aisyah) were conversing during the tea break, the mayor of central cdc and the president of the mendaki club walked over
and talked to us
WHYY?!!!
it was so uncomfortable; other kids had gone back inside, and still we stood there talking to these guys
they asked abt our aspirations, school, parents occupation, etc, etc...
haish... and all we wanted was to head back inside the hall
finally, syaz told them that we had to return to our seats, and they let us go

after that, lunch was at 2, so syaz and i ciao-ed to meet diana
briefly spoke with siti, and walked over to peninsular plaza to have our lunch
thought my pw meeting was at 4, not three
so arrived late at nlb (sorry, guys!)
found books, copied stuff
and went home

and that, my friends, was the summary of the last two days
would tell about the rest of the week, but seriously cannot remember them

toodles, then

here i am again
updating the weekly fina editorial
four days late...
oh well:

last tuesday>
went with the 'rents to the airport to welcome the bro home from jordan
and YAY! he brought back two keychains!!
100 sing dollars there is only 40 jordan dinar
and the food there is quite ex, except for streetside kebabs (only 1/5 what it costs here!- $1.00)
i'd actually wanted to show some pics of jordan, but stupid blogger's taking a helluva long time to load
like, never?
anyways, he did visit some pretty interesting places (though not petra)
he visited the jordan river, which supposed to be a big deal in the bible or sth
john e baptist was said to have baptised jesus there,
and it was crossed many times by many people with many intentions in the bible (source: wikipedia)
and the dead sea did not look dead, just blue/green
so salty that its shore was salt-encrusted

and i got to eat popeye's chicken! at last!!!
not that bad, but the smell wasn't as enticing as the last time i walked past the restaurant
and the buttermilk biscuits tasted great with jam
but the mashed potatoes... i guess i'm too attuned to kfc's mashies that anything else tastes weird
but the cajun fries more than made up for it =)
and i guess that's about it...

now, i can't remember anything else that went on last week cos its so long ago
so i'll talk about this week:

did u noe, two people danced very silly-ly at sajc's national day celebration?
haha! and caught on tape too
it was during the musical chairs segment...
heehee...
so after that, the three of us, dan, steph and me, ate at kfc

where the service was super friggin slow
(cos they hadn't cooked the food yet)
and i think they actually forgot about the order until we asked them about it
ah well...
then my eyes got so tired from looking at the computer screen about five hours
occupied my time with parodies and "requiem for a dream (piano, long version)" on youtube
that guy (pace34) made the song sound even greater than before... whoa...

after that, dan finished her council stuff earlier than we'd expected, so we thought we'd make good our original plans of eating at pizzahut
but turned out steph had some last minute dance stuff
so till next thursday, then :)

anyways, wed evening and thusday was spent at the bungalow my uncle rented for this holiday
cycling, karaoke-ing and barbequeing (typical malay holiday)
went to the beach this morning (aforesaid bungalow was at pasir ris park)
and finally got some exercise (2-3 hours cycling, uphill and down)
sadly, had to go home earlier than the rest of cousins and cousins' cousins
so here i am

okay, i'd actually wanted a samsung u600 to replace my current phone
then told my dad to postphone the ordering, just to look through the choices again
then i made my mind up again about the u600
until my sister began shopping around for a new mp3 player, and i decided i wanted a new one too
so i told my dad (again) to postpone ordering the phone
until i've made my decision about this:
should i buy a u600, with a separate mp3/4 player (samsung k5)
or just go straight for a sony ericsson w880i?
or even a different kind of mp3 player? like creative? iriver, perhaps?

*sighs* decisions, decisions...

fina :p

p.s. some stupid guy on the expressway just now suddenly swerved into the lane in front of my dad's car,
very fast and dangerously, with a kid in his backseat
like, wtf?
my dad honked at the guy, but still the asshole continued winding through traffic very fast
and that got my dad (and me) mad
so my dad took off after him, driving at 130 km/h
passed by the guy
(by then rage was boiling up inside of me too much for me to care that it was 40 over the speed limit)
all i thought was "stupid asshole"
the guy actually caught up with us, and i got a clear view of the kid perching precariously on the backseat
and stared daggers at the guy
figures, it was some young irresponsible buck
asshole
(though now that i think about it, my dad's actions were pretty irresponsible too, but at least he signalled while driving
bleh)
