went on an outing with diana and syaz today
syaz and i were late meeting diana... sorry, beb!
lol

exchanged gifts, and then we ate!
we did nothing untowardly today
just walked round bugis, and arab street and bras basah
my feet ache at the end of the day, but what the heck
shouldn't have worn heels- i wanna buy flats!!!
(but money no enough, unless anybody's got second-hand flats in good condition, in size 8/9 to sell to me at a cheap price... anyone? anyone at all?)

i wore my sister's $6 top from hong kong before i realised it was falling apart at the seams quite literally
such bad quality sewing, but what do you expect at $6?

anyways, tomorrow i'll be sleeping at my cousins' place till sunday/ monday
yay!

maybe i'll be able to finish my homework there
maybe? what maybe?
of course i won't
hahah
and to add to that, i'll be missing arsenal's game against everton
:(

and to add to that, my father's discontinuing our contract with scv
so no more arsenal!!!!
*bawls* *howls* *climbs up the building and threatens to jump off it*
nooooooooOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
no, not my arsenal! not my beloved arsenal!
arsenal is my life!!!!! :'((

arrgghhh
i'll have to persuade him to do otherwise
i have to!
he's taking away my life....

fabby died!!!!
i woke up this morning/afternoon, and he was lying on his side!!!
*bawls*

his fins was stuck in the filter earlier this morning, but my mum had extricated him and he was fine
his tail was bleeding but other than that, he was swimming fine
then my mum put him in a separate container, and shortly after, he died...

oh no!!!
now i have only one oranda goldfish (the white+ red growth on head variety) left
but at least hlebby looks strong now

darn...

fina-la-dida

p.s. let's have one moment of silence for poor fabby aka fabregas, who was such a brave and confident oranda goldfish, and had little fear of fingers pressing against the side of the tank.

p.p.s. now i'm thinking of buying a fabby 2.0 to replace him + three guppies + another fighting fish. fish never enough!
it's 2.30 now, but i cannot fall asleep
i've just been so distressed that i've been crying and crying
all because i read about what mrs. claudine tan is going to do to us next year

if we don't get a C grade or above for our holiday assignment, we won't be allowed to enter lit tutorials

gosh
i've been getting an average of d/e grade for lit, with a few Cs somewhere
and it got me thinking: how am i going to make it through this crucial year of jc
if i won't be allowed into tutorials to learn?

especially since the teachers i have seem so determined not to help us
yes, you teach us the content, but how about teaching us how to pass?
teachers are there supposedly to help you through your studies
and yet here they are threatening not to teach us if we make mistakes in our work

never before have i felt so hopeless going into a new school year
even in secondary school, where there are way more subjects to take than in jc, i've never felt so hopeless

now i'm beginning to think i'm not cut out for school at all
no, not even poly
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know
i don't know

that claudine tan is such an abominable, hateful person
she's not a teacher, no matter what her job title

so arsenal won the match against tottenham
after a flat first half, they came back fighting in the second half
(though they weren't their best)

almunia saved a penalty! woooO!!!!
f* lehmann, almunia rocks!!!!
darn, watching arsenal play just makes my heart feel full to bursting!

and reading won too, so it's all good

except... one of my fishes is sick
one of the little red ones
he has a swollen eye, for some reason
all red and round

and fabby and hlebby (named after fabregas and hleb) are missing some scales!
how??

well...
i feel so drained
went to the zoo with my sister and cousins today
received superbly horrible service at that restaurant in the zoo
yup, that placed called forest fare
yea, i know we're just four kids
and the fact that we don't look rich certainly doesn't help
but shit lah, we are still your customers, patrons of the restaurant you're working in
and we're paying for your salary!!!!!
can't you give us a little more respect?
never have i been treated like dirt, such as this!
it totally left a bitter taste in my mouth
i couldn't enjoy the buffet at all (which, btw, didn't have that much choice! lousy... boycott!!!)
in total, we spent $103... what a ripoff! i hate that place so much
bleargghhhh

fina-la-dida

p.s. if you do decide to leave, i'll miss you so, so much!!! but you've got to do what's right for you... and if the path you're on right now isn't working for you, then maybe something else will work better... but i'll be so sad if you're gone!!! :( haha

i feel so guilty!!!!!!!!
gacckkk!
haha

today was supposed to be a day of grocery shopping only, at giant tampines
we were supposed to be done by 5
somehow, though, at 5 o'clock, we were not at giant... but at a pet store!
buying fish!
and we spent $200 on fish and supplies!
how???!!!!
all i asked for was a fighting fish
and suddenly my father got the idea of having a small fish tank in our living room
and the money poured down the drain just like that...
all this, from a request to own a $5 fish that doesn't require a tank or filters
haiyoh...

and it's not just that that we overspent on

we eventually did go to giant to grocery shop
and usually, when i come along, the bill rings up to about $100
which is bad enough
but today we spent $250!!!!!
oh my goodness!!!!
and just before that we'd pledged to tighten our belts and spend less
haaaahhhhhH!!!!!!!!

i feel so guilty
because out of that $250, about $80 was on unneccessary items that my sister and i put into the shopping cart
darn
i'm a bad daughter

bad, bad daughter...

:(
fina-the-unfilial

p.s. day of baking for hari raya tmr

p.p.s. full schedule from then on till tuesday... and school's reopening soon!
and my homework is still left untouched!!! @$!%&!!!

written on sunday night, 16 dec, but not posted till now due to stupid internet-related problems:

oh my goodness! i so totally eat my words
turns out hady did have a chance at winning asian idol!
i was so gobsmacked!
i thought mike mohede of indonesia would win
and i was rooting for abhijeet

but hady beat all odds to win!
i had him pegged down as the one with the lowest chance of winning
but he won!!!!
i guess asia has more girls than i thought... heh heh heh

in other, just-as-exciting news, arsenal beat chelsea!!
yea!!!
former-chelsea man, arsenal's captain william gallas, scored the decisive goal in the 45th minute
the entire match was littered with drama,
foul after foul, with a fight somewhere during the match that got lampard and terry of chelsea booked with yellow cards- man, such an eventful match

and francesc fabregas got punched by that bloody asscole (ashley cole of chelsea) at the end of the match
granted, fabregas did foul him, but why retaliate with a punch, asscole?
the arsenal fans hate you enough as it is

anyways, poor liverpool lost to ManUre
darn
i was rooting for liverpool to win
i thought torres would come through, but they didn't make it
=(
so bloody manure are still hot on arsenal's heels...

p.s. we picked up my cousins from australia at the airport today, and had a popeye's chicken feast! yaaayyyy!!!

i hope indian idol abhijeet wins!!!

i know jaclyn victor sings best, but i find her so annoying
she sings at people, not to people
and no feelings at all!
and the competition is Asian IDOL, not Asian Singer, so i don't want to idolise someone who annoys me

on the other hand, i like the type of songs abhijeet sings, all those hindi songs
hahah
comes from watching all those hindi movies

hady... no chance, so why bother?
(my goodness, i feel so bad for stating the obvious!
sorry, hady fans!)

i'm so in <3 with swedish blueberry jam!!!

hahah
i've just had my dinner of julie's butter crackers with blueberry jam
yum!
i think i downed around 20 crackers without pause
and i want more!
but i'm getting a sore throat from all the jam, so...

the jam is seriously so sweet, with a ton of blueberries
we got it at ikea, believe it or not
and at only $4++!
cheaper than the usual french kind that comes in that tall, hard-to-access bottle

asian idol going n right now, so catch ya later!

2. Choose 2 people to do this after you completed yours
3. Leave a tag on the person's tag board to say he/she's been tagged

Favourites Colour(s): hmm…blue? Sometimes certain greens, certain pinks, or certain purples. Lol.

Food: Sushi, lasagne, raw or grilled salmon, roasted/fried/steamed chicken, steak, dessert (yumm!!!): butterscotch ice-cream, mint choc chip ice-cream, chocolate chip cokkie dough ice-cream, chocolate pudding, crème brulee, crepes, etc, etc, etc… hehehe

Dated your best friend: to echo syaz: “LOL! That is impossible. My best friends are girls and im no lesb. hahaha!” hehe

Broken the law: Of course; who hasn’t? Nothing horribly unethical though. I only littered a few times, jay-walked, consumed food in the MRT… Petty things like that

Been Arrested: God forbid that I should ever do anything that warrants arresting!

Kissed someone you don't know: No, not part of our culture

5 things you are wearing: black soccer shorts, ratty old blue U.S. Polo tee, bracelet, glasses, germs… lol

Things you've done today: woke up late, ate, watched tv, gone on the comp, organised folders, ate, gone on the comp…

Things you can hear now: Muffled voices from the next room, clicketty-clacks, not much else

Things you do when bored: Listen to music, read, daydream, pretend to sleep…

Yay! Thank goodness that’s over.

Now, I’d tag people to do this quiz, but I’m all for pro-choice, so if you want to do it, just do it.

day before yesterday was my birthday dinner
nowhere special though
i'd wanted to eat at sakura international buffet, because birthdays usually call for buffet
instead, we ate at the breeks cafe at causeway point

not bad
i had a chilled australian rib-eye with black pepper sauce
for something that's $21, you'd expect something bigger
but at least it made up for it in its thickness
one thick slab
okay-tasting, i guess
the fish was nice, though

in the end, we paid about the same amount of money that you'd expect a buffet for 4 would cost
(unless it was at the carousel; that would have set us back about $200)

an okay birthday, i suppose

although, something detestable happened that day
some stupid, fucking insolent kids threw sand through my living room window!
the sand was poured into an old glove, and unceremoniously hurled through my window- whilst i was sitting underneath it!
rather, i was lying down on the couch underneath the window
so i got a lot of sand on my bare legs
and the entire living room floor, all the way to my dining room, was littered with sand

ROOOAAAAAARRRRR!!!!
that made me so mad!
well, it made me sad, at first
in my mind, i was groaning and whining: why today, on my birthday?!!! life sucks!!
haha
then i came to my senses and realised that i was supposed to be angry
and angry i am!!!!!!!!!!!

stupid, insolent, incorrigible asshole, juvenile delinquents!!
my carpet, couch, table, all dirtied because of you!!!

fina-colada

p.s. ice-skating soon?

p.p.s. two days late: arsenal beat steaua bucharest 2-1! not only that, robin van persie and abou diaby have returned to the pitch!!!
thank goodness =)

p.p.s. my internet has gone bonkers, so i can't stay online too long, else it's just switch off.
darn
... happy birthday to me...

I got back from HK last saturday evening, but i hadn't really gotten the chance to go online at all since the computer had been annoyingly dominated by the sister and brother. Needless to say, the trip was a humongous amount of fun, dolloped with a bit of irritating (which usually comes about when you're travelling with parents who don't know anything about the country you're visiting and thus have resulted in you being utterly lost).

I'd wanted to shop a lot, using $300 of my own money. Unfortunately, I'm not a good shopper. So i fell way below budget, and only bought a few things. Damn. Haha. And I only shopped in the cheap stores- like the Ladies Market, which isn't even a store at all, lol. But it's ok, because it meant I could buy more things! Which I didn't; I only bought a bag, a jacket, an Arsenal jersey, and 4 tees. WTF?! Hahah.

Of course, when you're in HK and Shenzhen, you must do as the locals do, which is buy fakes. So we did. I've never been much of a fake-goods-buying-type person, but it's fun, laughing over the funny spelling mistakes on the bag- like Christian Diar, or Dolge&Gabbana, and Ciderella. Hahahaha. I got a Dolge bag (I'm not proud of it), and that's the only fake brand I'll ever buy. Hahah.

Anyways, the trip there began with a little bit of a hitch. Okay, a lot of hitches. First, someone, other than I, was caught accidentally trying to bring a pair of scissors onto the plane in his/her bag. Then we found out that the tvs in the plane were out of order, which meant the flight there would be boring as hell. All I could do to occupy myself was to continue my knitting (which is doubly boring). Then I realised I was sick, with a runny nose that didn't seem to want to slow down (and did not slow down until four days after).

Add all those problems to getting lost, and finding it difficult to find halal restaurants (because they were very far from our hotel), and my nose peeling on thursday from blowing my nose too much- and you have a seemingly very sian trip. But it was fun.

Things I enjoyed:
1. the cold, even though my nose didn't appreciate it too much. Singapore felt too warm after that, even in the air-conditioned airport.
2. the fact that I was in a different country, and people there didn't look like me
3. visiting "window of the world" in Shenzhen, where there were many replicas of key monuments of the world (including the merlion!). So i got to visit Paris, Spain, Italy, England, New York, etc.
4. riding all modes of public transportation available, such as a cab, a public bus, and a train.
5. shopping for cheap stuff that you can get for a very good bargain!
6. sitting in the window seat in an airplane, and looking down at clouds below me <3 style="font-weight: bold;">Things I found... interesting:
1. the deplorable hygiene of the people in Shenzhen. Everywhere, people can just start digging their noses in public. And they blow the phlegm from their nose on to the floor!
2. the fact that people in Shenzhen just throw their trash anywhere. After eating: no dustbin? No problem! Just throw your satay stick onto the floor!
3. pedestrians lack of regard for oncoming traffic. People in Shenzhen cross the road anytime they like, even in front of a fast-moving van.
4. that people always ask if we were malaysian or indonesian, and look surprisingly surprised when we say we're singaporean- even our tour guide!
5. that sales people try to get us to buy more expensive stuff when they find out we're singaporean

Shenzhen was... interesting, for sure, but it added a little spice to the trip. I would definitely repeat the whole trip over again!

Of course, I didn't just buy things for myself. But unlike my trip to Beijing, I didn't buy souvenirs for everybody I know, just a few key people. My cousins, my aunts, grandparents, and: Dan, Steph, Syaz and Diana. Nothing mega expensive though. I am still a student.

p.s. Arsenal lost! as did Liverpool! ??? what freakish results, man. Arsenal lost 2-1 to Middlesborough, and Liverpool lost 3-1 to Reading??!!! So now no team is unbeaten in the BPL. Hleb, Cesc, Flamini, Robin, Abou- come back!

p.p.s. check out the picture of me and my fab4 arsenal jersey: here. the guy who printed out the tee put it on his site. and he gave me a free arsenal badge!

three posts ago, i was very sore over arsenal's terrible performance at seville
but i've thought it over
and i've realised, i have nothing to be sore over

arsenal is still a young team, trying to find it's footing
and on that day, many of the first team key players were rested or injured
clichy, hleb, flamini, adebayor, gallas were all absent
and fabregas had to be taken off because he sustained an injury
but clumsy senderos (i do pity him for't) was playing
even gilberto has become a bit slow due to old age or inaction
and denilson and armand traore- well, they're a couple of teenagers; they played okay, but they just couldn't commuicate to each other well
i'm not releasing them from blame though; they're arsenal players now, and they need to learn how to play the arsenal way
but they have alot of time before they reach their prime at 23, so they should be given a chance

so i don't feel at all bitter anymore
in fact, that game's significant contribution lies in the fact that it allowed a few second-string arsenal players to shine
nicklas bendtner, for example, was a stable lad, with fine control of the ball
(and he's still only a teenager!)
and he has been complaining of not being given a chance to make it into the big boys' team
so this was a great opportunity to show what' he's capable of- and he did wonderful
and dodo (eduardo) did fine too by scoring the first goal off a pass from bendtner

now, i do realise that my posts nowadays revolve mainly around arsenal
i don't know why- i just am so crazy over arsenal!
hahaha
they're just a fabulous team to watch, and the more i watch them the more i've invested my feelings in them
and the more i've invested my feelings in them, the more i love them!
lol

my loyalty to arsenal was questioned about two weeks ago by the bro
he said: why don't you just go support reading since you watch so many of their games?
i was darn insulted!
hello, who's the one who's willing to wake up at 3/4 in the morning to watch arsenal and pray for them to win?
me!
where were you?
sleeping still, only opening your eyes to see the score once in a while
harrumph!
i don't watch just reading games; i watch whatever matches shown on the football channel
(especially if there're good-looking players! and, as it turns out, there's one player i find good-looking in reading lol. but i digress...)

reading is just a pet team
a team i'm fond of, not a team i'm crazy over
of course i saw aww if reading lose
but i don't lament their loss like i do for arsenal
and my prayers are not with reading, they're with arsenal!
so i suppose it's grossly unfair to compare my love for arsenal with my fondness for reading

hahah
i've been meaning to get that off my chest for a while
and now i have, so i feel better

i haven't packed my bags yet
and i'm leaving tomorrow!
nor have i cleaned my room
nor finished knitting a scarf
arrgghh
so much to do
so much wasted time spent procrastinating
and a good sci-fi book is waiting for me...
oh my goodness, i haven't packed!
hahaha

adios then, mi amigos

Yay, Arsenal won 2-1 against Aston Villa!

In the first half, Arsenal played like the Arsenal I know and love; dominant, with neat passes and all that. Even though Aston Villa got the lead initially at 14++ minutes, I wasn't feeling that much worried since Arsenal were playing like the champions they were. (Yay.) Then Matthieu Flamini came and thumped in a nice goal, and then it was Emmanuel Adebayor's turn with a nice header.

The second half though... was so-so. Aston Villa came back more determined than ever, and put pressure on Arsenal constantly. However, Arsenal stayed strong and held their lead. (Another yay.) Arsenal has never lost a game in which Emmanuel Adebayor scored, so it was kind of expected.

Yay Arsenal!
Other than that, I've nothing else to say. Good night/ morning!

oh no, i just remembered that i haven't paid steph back for her 2 bucks!
oops!! sorry!

anyways, today has been a day for knitting, and horlicks. not much else went on today. *yawns* but sunday and tuesday were fun...

sunday: went to two weddings. not much fun about that, except for looking at fabulous wedding decorations.

The first wedding was my mum's brother's adopted family's wedding for their daughter,
and it was fabulous! The father of the bride is a chef at suntec city, so the food was fantastic.

He and his siblings made all the food themselves, and it was totally hotel/restaurant fare: A long table just for desserts (more than 20 types!), and a separate table for food! There were fruit tarts, and quiches, and little hors'deurs (if that's how u spell it), and cheese cake, and traditional malay kuehs, and loads more! My plate was full even before i reached the other half of the table. (i never did get the chance to walk the entire length of the tabel; no space in my tummy). The main course was nice; black pepper fish, and fried kway teow, and i-don't-know-what-else. Dessert definitely outshone it, though.

And al
though the wedding was typical void-deck style, it was decorated so nicely- chandeliers, and coloured lengths of cloth spruced up the ceiling. Round tables, chairs with satin and gauze covers were used, and the dias was... woah! It looked like some rich person's living room, lol. The entertainment was not typical karaoke. No, they had traditional malay art forms- dikir barat, and malay dance. Fabulous(except... it was a bit crowded...)

Phew, that is one long description
. The second wedding was typical, except the dias was the pretty flower-garden-gazebo type. Lesser variety of food though.

tuesday: DFS ice-skating outing!
yay! with dan and steph, went to kalland ice-skating rink. and man, it was so cold that you could see the water vapour just swirling in the air! and it was pretty thick, too. You could barely see the other side of the rink. It was so fun; dan tried to teach us this two-foot spin thingie, but we couldn't spin... but dan was in her element! so nice to watch! well, at least steph and i learned to swizzle and twizzle (or something like that)

then it was off to the esplanade for photo-taking op. I'd forgotten to bring my camera :( so i just knitted in that darn hot sun. We tried to take a photo of the three of us jumping in the air. It took many shots, and many unglam photos (me, particularly), but we made it in the end. yay-ness!

after that, a little unwinding at mrs fields, where we had orangina and two snapples. and then it was off to home

i wanna go ice-skating again! But the three of us are finding it hard to coordinate our schedules. aww... steph's in melbourne now, then next week i'm off to hong kong, and the week after that dan's off to bangkok. Darn. Then after that there's the rush to finish all our homework...

oh well, maybe next year?

fina-colada-who-takes-unglam-shots

p.s. arsenal lostin the euro cup game, but it's ok

at least it's not the epl, and we've already qualified for top 16 anyway
darn
clichy was injured, as was hleb, and fabregas (oh no!), and flamini, and diaby, and god-knows-who-else
i just hope fabregas and the gang recover soon
go cesc! and go arsenal!
allez arsenal!!!

p.p.s. notice the new format? i just wanted to see if it was easier to read. feedback, please!

sevilla 3 - 1 arsenal
:(

arsenal was totally having an off-day this morning
i have no idea why, they just didn't click

passes sloppy, mistakes made repeatedly
sevilla really deserved their win over arsenal, i admit
if i wasn't an arsenal fan, and this was the first arsenal match i've ever seen, i would have thought that arsenal was a sucky team
but they're not the rest of the time

i quite like sevilla as a team
except for a few rough players, the rest were quite fine
and their manager looks like a decent character too
their fans were well-behaved,
and quite nice to clap for francesc fabregas when he was substitutedand was walking off the pitch
what with him being spanish too
if i were a spanish la liga watch-er, i probably won't mind supporting sevilla

dodo scored first
but then everything went downhill from there on

i was so freaking disappointed
really
why?
why were they so terrible today?
i don't understand

is it because hleb, flamini, van persie are out?
is it because noob players were playing?
is it because they switched off, knowing that they didn't need to win this game, having already qualified for the next knock-out stages of this competition?

grrrrr
armand traore and phillipe senderos especially
so many mistakes
they gave the ball away to sevilla so many times
granted, armand traore may be only 18 y. o.
but he's playing with the big boys now
and senderos just doesn't defend very well
*sighs*
even veteran players like gilberto were totally off
mayhaps it was a conspiracy on his part
he wants to move out of arsenal, to juventus, so maybe he wanted to sabotage arsenal?
hahah
what a long shot

theo walcott, when he came on, was a breath of fresh air
great pace, nice runs
he's played first division football quite regularly, so maybe he's more experienced that traore
and nicklas bendtner was stable most of the match

but terrible overall
simply terrible
sevilla deserved their win
arsenal deserved to not win
*sighs*
so tired
had to wake up at 3.30 to catch this match
though it's not exactly a waste of time, it has been very disappointing

so i'm going to sleep now
good night/ morning

fina

luis fabiano of sevilla, on arsenal, before the match:
"Fabiano admitted that he is a big fan of Cesc Fàbregas, but believes that Arsenal's biggest strength is the unity that have.

“The best player for Arsenal is the team," he said. "They have a good defence, a great midfield and up front are people who are capable of scoring goals at any moment. We cannot give them any chance.
I have watched some of their games and their great star is Fàbregas.
For me he is one of the best players in his position in Europe. We will have to stop him.”

How i wish arsenal showed all this quality in the match...

p.s. sevilla is quite a good-looking team
hahah
must be because they're a spanish la liga team- loads of tall, dark, and handsome people

p.p.s. will post later about yesterday- ice-skating= fun!

complain, complain, and COMPLAIN!: a review

my family decided to try having lunch at mad jack's
after what dano told me about the management, i was a bit unwilling
but since my parents have wanted to try eating there for so long, i thought: what the heck

and it sucks!!! sucks, sucks, sucks!
ok, so the food is not that bad; it's not inedible bad
but the word i'd use to describe everything there would be sub-standard

i had this dinner set, which includes soup, a main course, cake w/ ice-cream, and a drink
my main course was grilled salmon in cream sauce,
and it came in a timely manner, everything was going fine then
but it wasn't the best salmon i've ever had
the cream sauce had no taste,
and although the salmon had visible flakes of black pepper, it tasted virtually naked
of course, right then i was wondering were my soup was
it is, after all, an appetiser
then the guy comes up to us and asks if we wanted our soup now, with the course
yes, said we
it's quite obvious that the soup was supposed to come afore the main course
but it didn't show up anytime soon

our drinks were also forgotten
only my dad got his grass jelly drink
so all of us had to share that in the mean time
my mum had to ask them if our drinks were ready
turns out they'd forgotten our orders

but then only my sister's drink came
my mum and i were still left drink-less
so my mum had to ask them yet again
then she had to walk all the way to the counter and tell them what our drinks were supposed to be

uugghh
and that's not the end of it
i only got my strawberry&banana smoothie when i'd nearly finished my main course
(which took very long. u noe me, a slow eater)
and it made me very unhappy
i mean, try eating mashed potato, without anything to wash down that thick mushy food
and my soup and cake were still missing!!!
my mum had asked them about the missing cake and soup when she's gone to the counter to settle our drinks
but it was still nowhere in sight

well, it was until i finished eating my main course
then finally dessert came
and then he had the gall to come up and ask us if we wanted our soup now
like, duuurrrhhhhh!
where were you the past hour, man?
the soup was supposed to arrive before the main course, not after dessert!!!!!!!

ahhh
ok, patience is a virtue, so we didn't make a big deal out of it
but come on lah!
we understand that the servers were all students, and maybe that's why they're incompetent
but how come there's no supervisor overseeing these kids?

also, there were alot of workers there
but they seemed only to be milling around the kitchen door
or sitting at the table near the counter
they were very inattentive
try, totally inattentive!
the numerous times my mother had to call the waiter over to ask about our food,
she had to wave at them for at least half a minute or so
and i still can't believe they forgot our orders!
i mean, forgetting one order is excusable, but forgetting two soups, three drinks and two cakes?
too many

grrr, grrrr, grrrrrrrrr
we could have had better service at delifrance, or pizza hut, or swensen's
and at a better price too
and we paid 7% gst, with added 5% service charge
what service, i ask u?

as i said, sub-standard

wooohhhooooooo!!!!

after a frustrating 80 minutes (more or less), arsenal finally scored a goal against wigan
go gallas!
the arsenal skipper showed them how it's done

and then a few minutes later, rosicky scored a goal
yay!!!
go tomas rosicky!!!
so the games ends 2-0, one goal short of the 3-0 i expected

i can't believe wigan held them off for that long, but tonight's a night of weirdness
you see, bolton beat manUre (man utd. duh) 1-0
even though bolton are in the bottom three of the table still
so arsenal are three points clear of manUre at the top of the table
woohooo!!!
thank you, thank you, thank you bolton!
i don't like bolton, and campo, and diouf, but i'm ever so grateful!

hahah
so frustrating though, when arsenal couldn't score
damn ade(bayor) missed so many chances
bendtner, when he came on, seemed so much more helpful than ade
i say, put ade on the bench, and bring nicklas bendtner on
god knows he's been straining on his leash

clichy... man, that gael clichy can really run!
all he does is run
and run very fast he can
it's just when he's attacking with the ball, he turns a bit weird

and walcott
poor theo walcott had to be carried off he pitch on a stretcher
after a tackle by that abominable heskey
who also picked a fight with gallas which got innocent gallas a yellow card
that damned heskey got booed everytime he got the ball, from then on
hah!

francesc fabregas, aliaksandr hleb and matthieu flamini were sorely missed
there was a shot with the three of them sitting in a row on the benches
cesc- suspended, alex- injured, matthieu- injured
robin van persie's goal-scoring abilites were sorely missed too
especially in the fruitless, goal-less first 80 minutes

nevertheless, an adequate result
not really satisfying
but still very much welcomed

p.s. in your face, man utd!!

when avril lavigne first started out, i kinda liked her
kinda
some of her songs were nice to listen to, nice to sing, with heartfelt lyrics

but now...
now i really, really, really, really, really, really, really find her annoying
first there was that insanely annoying "girlfriend" song
i was turned off by that almost immediately
then there was "when you're gone"
okay, the song was nice, but the lyrics were amateurish

"when you're gone, the words i need to hear to always get me through the day
and make it okay, i miss you"

notice something wrong with that line from her chorus?
yea, it's incomplete
and i don't like songs that leave you hanging
no coherence

and finally, the last straw: "hot"
aarrgghhhh!!!!
i don't like the verses , at all
i think the lyrics suck

i dislike avril lavigne!

yes, i know- there are loads of other artists who have lousy lyrics
but somehow they don't get on my nerves as much as avril does
maybe cos they did not go on as steep a downward spiral as avril did in my books

arraagghhhh!!!! @*&%!&*(`%$~%!!!!!

ahahah
ok
i should relax
so here's a song for everybody to enjoy!
okay, two songs!
hahah
ok, ok, three songs!!
hahaha
i'd love to add more
but these chosen three are upbeat, happy songs
which is the pick-me-up i need after diss-cussing avril lavigne

1. melee- built to last
i fell in love with this song-about-love since i saw it first on mtv a few months ago
yea, i know, what a way to listen to songs- mtv?
but it's a nice song
2. the beatles- here comes the sun
sheryl crow sang a cover of this song in "bee movie"
and i like the mive
and the song =)
3. simon webbe- no worries
nice beat
very laidback
his voice's a little low, but i still like the tune of the song

i had a nightmare-ish dream the other night
really, really scary
it left me feeling shocked, flabbergasted, scared
i dreamt...

...that i was assigned to join the ava club!
jeng jeng jeng!

hahah
no offence to the ava club or anything
but in my dream, when i found out that i was slated to be an ava-er, i really did get very scared
hahaha

i've been messing around with my knitting needles all weekend
i've made 3 patches of knitted material
and i have no idea what to do with them
but they were all practice patches
really ugly, just my first few tries

but i've realised that my needles are way to big
for a 4 ply yarn, which is what i've got, i'm supposed to use 3- 3 1/4mm needles
but i've got 6mm needles! (or thereabouts)
which explains the really ugly loops called knit stitches in my knitting
they're really ugly and loose
not very nice to look at

so, as part of my experimentation with knitting, i tried to knit using satay stickes
and it looks fab!
really close together, neat-ish stitches
except... it was torture knitting like that
really slow, too tight, and the material's not very elastic now
and it's super small!

so i'm thinking of getting new needles
or getting an 8/12 ply yarn
maybe mohair, or cotton or something
maybe
cos my mother's spent too much on my knitting already
she bought a $42 knitting book for me, wrongly seeing the price as $12
haha
imagine the shock she got when she realised she had $30 extra to pay

bored... bored... bored...

i've just been knitting, reading, tv-viewing...
i'm dying here!!!

fina-cola-dying-dying-dead.

yay!!
finally, there will be no more shadow of a lit holiday assignment hanging over my head
the relaxation can begin!

unless u count claudine tan's ass., that's due next year...

went to school this morning to hand in my ms. k assignment, along with roy's and steph's
I was just about to put them in pigeon hole #66 when who should walk out of the staff room but ms. k herself!
goodness, i was so freaking scared, cos i was on the phone
but she seemed... okay-ish
but still freakingly intimidating
maybe she wasn't in the mood to scold people today
so i just gave her the assignments and ciao-ed

hahah

need to take vitamin C...

aww, poor reading lost...

... because arsenal won!!
haha
3-1, when it should have been 4-1

you see, adebayor scored a goal
which was disallowed
because the stupid linesman was behind the line of players when adebayor received the pass, therefore he wrongly saw adebayor as offside
and promptly raised his stupid checkered flag to disallow the perfectly alright goal

harrumph!
but 3 points, all the same
and arsenal retain top position in the premiership table

flamini started things off with a goal
tight pass from hleb
and then chipped in by flamini

second goal was by adebayor
after a perfectly-timed pass from fabregas

and finally,
hleb scored a goal! hleb scored a goal!
finally, the player with super-quick feet got on the scoresheet
good for him!
=)

man, winter is coming, must be getting really cold in england
i saw gilberto on the players' bench all huddled up to his nose in his jacket
lol
and the players' breaths came out in visible puffs of water vapour
looked interesting when you see puffs of white appearing around the players

satisfied to a large extent over the results
except for that stupid linesman's disallowing of the goal
and except for the fact that i had to wake up at the unearthly time of 3.55am to catch the match

ladeedadeeda
good night =)

0-0!!
but that's ok, cos most who played were arsenal second-stringers (reserves)
so our reserves were quite good!
and it's still 7-0 on aggregate
and arsenal have already qualified for the top 16 in the UEFA Champions League

=)
ok, so i've received feedback that there is confusion between "cesc" and "fabregas"
steph thought they were different people
so here's a little intro to arsenal's 20-year old wonderkid:

1-his full name is francesc fabregas soler
referred to sometimes as cesc or fabregas
born May 4 1987

2-
plays for arsenal
central midfielder
inherited the number 4 shirt from patrick viera
usually takes the corner kicks, sometimes the free-kicks
he recently signed an 8 year-long contract with arsenal
which means he'll play for arsenal till 2014, i think
he was arsenal's youngest goalscorer in the league cup, at 16 years old

3-plays for spain
18 appearances, so far, in the senior squad
was the youngest player to be capped for Spain in 70 years
of course, he played for the youth team afore that

hmm, i guess that's all the important bits done
misc stuff:
  1. had english tuition three times a week, 3/4 hours each time when he first arrived at england (such dedication!)
  2. had an Irish landlady, together with philippe senderos
  3. i think he has a younger sister; not really sure about that
  4. he celebrated his first goal by having kinder bueno and a coke (my favs!)
    lol
  5. he was often criticised for having a lightweight build and a less aggressive style of play
    (by ppl like Cash-ley Cole)
but he's proven to them that his skill and vision more than makes up for that
    "suck on that, you haters!"
    hahaha

"I have been educated to play good football, attractive football. I could never play in a team, who win everything, but where I’d be uncomfortable in the way they play. I certainly don’t enjoy a game if the ball is in the air all the time and I am always tackling. I want to win – but I also love Arsenal because of our playing style. If I had to spend 15 years playing ugly football, I’d prefer to do something else." -Cesc Fabregas

after feeling so upset over stupidoes har-grieves and la frog's comments,
i've been consoling myself with surfing youtube!
hahah
all i need is a little bit of cesc to feel better
just, omgoodness, such an adorable guy
with such a good sense of humour

haha
for example, in an interview,
he was asked: What if you could be any pop star, who would you be?
his answer was: britney spears...nah! hehehe, i'm joking, i'm joking

hahah
even watching the video of cesc being such a bad boy makes me swoon
hahah
ok, ok...
should stop...
don't want to, but i will

got an e-mail today
by YMCA sth, since i took part in care-to-dance last year
inviting me to go on a skiing camp!
in korea!
me wanna go! me wanna go!
but...i can't...
='(
since i'm already going hong kong, i can't go korea
='(
if only i can go both... what a wonderful world it would be!
lol

ok
watching more of cesc
:P

cesc being bad: grabbing lampard by his shirt
in that famous carling cup final brawl

cesc and alex: my two favourite arsenal players!

lol ;P
goodness, but i do hate owen hargreaves
(and sir alex ferguson, at this moment)
stupid ManUre

he, just like that fergie guy,
has been whining about how ManUre was the better team
and how their two goals were beautiful while arsenal's were "scrappy"

hmmph!
beautiful?
you call an own goal by gallas (arsenal) "beautiful pieces of play"?
hello, you did not score that goal,
by accident, willy gallas did
definitely not you

and the second one, that was due to a mistake by almunia
not by your own design
almunia left the goal open
that's his mistake
not your cunning

arses

i am so sick of reading about these stupid people complaining ever since they did not win last saturday
whiners

at least wenger could admit that he played the players in a wrong formation

i noe, wenger complains sometimes too
but i am an arsenal supporter
so when i hear about stupidoes like ferg la frog and har-grieves
i get very mad

*mentally bitch-slaps the two ManUre people*
*mentally cutting off their heads with a chainsaw*
ending off with a
*mentally-applied shower of stomps on the now-severed heads*

now, that felt satisfying...

my goals:

#1:
to become rich,
to live in a place with a beautiful view (preferably near ashbburton grove),
to be able to travel,
and ultimately, to be able to...

...#2:
watch arsenal play at the ashburton grove (emirates) stadium!
of course, i'd like access to the club level,
or better yet the hospitality level,
where there's a higher chance of meeting with players!
*swoons*
after achieveing #1 goal, i'll be able to afford season tickets,
and sit at the primest spot week after week, after week...

#3:
a bit unrealistic, but i'll put it here, nevertheless...
to marry cesc fabregas!
hahaha
i told you it was unrealistic
but he's such a nice guy, and funny too
hahah

#4:
live a loving life?
sorry, i'm all out of ideas after #1, #2 and #3.
hahah
arsenal and having a beautiful life (with cesc) is what does it for me
:P

of course, god is the umbrella over all these dreams
hahah
"umbrella"
okay then
shall end off here

p.s. poor reading lost =( to fulham

Yaayy!!!
Arsenal drew with Man Utd 2-2
so they're still number 1!!!

fabregas scored
a cool shot into the corner of the net
and gallas scored one that wasn't really that clear since man utd's goalkeeper pushed it back out
but by then it had crossed the line
so it was a goal!!!

arsene wenger just looks so cute when arsenal scores goals
hahah
walcott shaved that thing under his chin
so he looks much better now
and my feelings towards wayne rooney have mellowed a bit
i dislike him less ever since i saw him shaking toure's hand after toure tackled him good
good sport he was

and i hate that anderson kid from man utd
eww
and cristiano ronaldo?
double eww
carrick i don't mind so much
but that's only because he looks much better than the former two

fabregas, fabregas, fabregas
kellyn gave me this poster of cesc on thursday
thanks kel!
=)
it's now on my whiteboard directly in front of my bed
heheh

and guess what?
as the icing on the cake, it's confirmed: we're going Hong Kong!!
today's a happy day
yup, it is

raya-ed just now
so i'm tired
but i've work to do
so i'll hop right to it

hey hey hey!

back from a wasted day in school doing the faecal OP dry runs
hahah
i'm trying not to use dirty words in this post

slept so soundly during yiqi's presentation
when i woke up, almost everybody was gone except that group, miss zhou, and jerrald, jeremy and keed

hmmmmmm
changed my script
am unsure if i will be able to memorise it and present it nicely tomorrow
but i certainly will try

okay, that's all for today
wish me luck, for both the OP and my mullet-looking ponytail... gah, shouldn't have cut it so short!

fabregas, my hero!!
hehehe

yup, cesc scored against liverpool to level the score
so the game ended in a good way
i remember telling kels like, a week or two ago, that i hoped that the score would be a draw
because i like liverpool, and don't want either team to break their unbeaten streak
of course, arsenal's winning streak would be put to rest
but that's ok
we can win next week against man utd :P

hahah
the game just now was really exciting
liverpool was okay
arsenal entertained with some neat passes, as usual

hmm, found some new interesting things today

#1: alvaro arbeloa
hahah
such a mouthful
when the commentator announced his name, all i heard was aldadoaldelola or sth like that
gibberish stuff
but really, such an interesting name

#2: the red flower/ green badge
i keep seeing all the managers wearing these
well, rafael and arsene didn't wear the red flower thingie today
but they did put on the green badge
and a check on the blackburn vs. tottenham game showed both managers wearing both items
hmm, i wonder what they are...
somebody died?
like that time all players were wearing a black band?
or is the bpl supporting some cause?
somebody, enlighten me!

#3: yossi benayoun
hehehe
his first name reminds me of yossi and jagger
yup, the gay movie
and i think yossi (the benayoun one) is israeli too...
hahah
maybe it's just a common name over there
but who knows...

#4: my new ambitions!
yes, i finally have ambitions
i want to be either an espn sportscaster
(because that malay guy totally sucks speaking english
bad grammar and all, with a pseudo-brit accent)
or a soccer photographer
you know, those peeps sitting around the pitch holding huge lenses, taking pics of the soccer players
woah... imagine watching every single match
and sitting so close to where the players are
and maybe even getting a chance of touching one...

hahah
me and my dreams

#5: me noticing players' jersey numbers
i've always been bad with numbers
but i tried to memorise some jersey numbers
here they are (they might be wrong):
4- cesc fabregas
7- tomas rosicky
22- gael clichy
32- theo walcott
25- emmanuel adebayor
26- niklas bendtner
27- emmanuel eboue
15- matthieu flamini
3- bacary sagna
5- kolo toure
(that's all from arsenal in this match)
(miscellanous>)
11- robin van persie
2- abou diaby
6- philippe senderos
14- ex-thierry henry
14- xabi alonso of liverpool (oh, that cutie XD )
(well, that's all... not bad, rite?)

oh, i noticed that when almost all football players score,
their mouths form the shape of an "o"
cesc did, when he scored not long ago
but, i know of someone who doesn't
dave kitson!
hahah
the reading player with bright orange-y hair
he may not look cute to you, but he's so adorable to me
and he shouts "yeah" when he scores
and smiles too
so cute! XD
hahaha

okok...
it's two twenty-five a.m.
i'm gonna go catch some shut eye

good night!

fina-the-goonerina!

Saturday, October 27, 2007

friday was a super-duper-truper relaxed day
something i really welcomed, especially after the depressing fiasco of thursday

6.45 am, friday26th October 2007:
met dan and steph at the bus-stop
blur fin took the earliest 966 bus at 6 am when she could have taken the second 6.15 bus
then
we had tau huey!
then off to school where our results slips beckon

chapel was really embarassing...
i accidentally interrupted the chaplain or sth with my noisy exit and re-entry into the cc when he was talking about "holy communion"
oh no!
but i really had to use the loo...

hahah
then there was the farewell for the principal mrs lim
some of the time, it was funny,
some of the time, it was boring
but i was really glad when it ended
because, man, was the cc freezing

then we had the long-awaited roti-jala!
yup, it was the second breakfast of the day
of course i felt really guilty
but give me a break, it's roti-jala!
hahah

ohwaitohwaitohwaitohwait!
i forgot to tell you that some exciting people were at my school!
the new zealand all-blacks 7s team!!!
waaaahhhhhhh!!!!
hahah
we saw them training on our track when we were in the caf eating the roti jala
we were wondering why ang mohs were training at our school
then i thought, "haiyah, they're all so big, look so old, no need to see lah"

hahah
then i found out they're the all blacks 7s!!!
and someone from class had a video of them doing the haka!!!
so wasted...

miss zhou was late for pw as usual
so we fooled around with steph's D40!!
so fun
and we even took a class photo (or two... or three...)
ok, then there was stupid shit PW
but only steph's group had to present

let me tell you, after what happened on thursday, i have really begun to dislike miss zhou, what with her making my pw groupmate cry (rather unfairly),
and her jeopardising my group's wr...
i really don't think petty people like her should become teachers
i really do
(which brings to mind a certain mr yoong:"utter stupidity...stupid...morons...")

but once school was done at 12, we were free!!!
the only thing was, so were students from every other sec school and jc
so we decided not to go to vivo
where the whole world would be
we went to PS

ohwaitohwaitohwaitohwait!
i saw someone else exciting at PS!!
MTV VJ UTT!!!
hahah
and he was like, only two-four metres away from me!!
hahaha
omgosh, he is so cute in real life
even if he is 30+ and will be 40 in less than 7 years
hahah
he was wearing something blue and shades
but he stood out like a glowing beacon cos he's so fair
hahah
ok ok ok
let's move on with the show...

had lunch at Thai Express
(yes, i know, we ate yet again)
the tom yum there was really nice
even though i had some beef broth thingie
which i was unable to enjoy due to too-big pieces of beef
but everything else was fine
then we went to spotlight
oh my word, am i so in love with spotlight!
so many artsy-fartsy stuff
boxes, ribbons, thread, yarn, cloth, crayons, etc.

we rounded off the day with a rest at mos burger
where i had a strawberry milkshake only
freezing like hell (paradox?)
even colder than the cc was
but it was a welcome respite from walking around PS
and then we parted...

and there you have it, the relaxing end to the official school year
of course, there's the scary miss k's lit homework
but yesterday, all troubles were left behind
(until i got home of course, but my dad's always noisy, so...)

even the receiving of results slips couldn't dampen our day
not that i felt down after reading it
nothing i didn't expect, anyway

good news for gp
i had better gp results than 90% of the jc 1s
yay!
got the B i wanted
so now i can claim $50 from mr randy
double yes!
hahah
other subjects... i don't really mind
average, average, average...

but PW's next week
OP! OP! OP!
hahah
extra PW class on tuesday
then the real thing on wednesday
wish me luck!!!

fina (dFs)

Thursday, October 25, 2007

i am super bored
i have been having break since 10, and it's 11.50 now
so,
i have been reading more about arsenal
yay
arsenal
is it ever anything else?
(come to think of it, sometimes it's perez hilton, or parodies on youtube
other than that...)

lehmann, lehmann, lehmann...
causing so many problems for arsenal by criticising almunia and acting all big-headed
he's really not endearing himself to the general public and especially to arsenal fans by complaining to the media about him being out of favour
i'm really glad for almunia;
he seems much more clear-headed than that erratic jens
and he's kept a clean sheet for the last - wat?- 6, 7 games?

finally got to watch the arsenal - slavia prague game yesterday night
fabulous!
to repeat a phrase i've used before (i think) about walcott,
he was magnificent!
and his second goal was quite henry-like
that kid (even though he's older than me) has really come of age

and today i read about the arsenal ladies club
wow, three and a half years unbeaten
and what's impressive is that most of the talent there are local english talents

really cool
and they've won the uefa women's cup before
so they're, like, really woah

and i read about arsenal's latin motto
really cool, and totally apt for arsenal
Victoria Concordia Cresci
means: Victory Comes With Harmony
truer words have never been spoken about arsenal
come on lah, have you seen them play?
flows like water, man
hahah

ok, ok
i shall accede to what you are probably thinking now;
i shall stop talking about arsenal
i shall talk about my day off from school!

wednesday: all classes cancelled
hahah
so the entire class decided not to report to school
my teacher got really pissed, i think
i mean, we'd told her the day before of our intentions
but i guess she didn't think we were serious
well, we followed through on our word
...
and it was fun

first of all, i got to wake up around 11 am
which is really cool, considering i slept around 10.30 - 11 pm the night before
then psycho-ed the parents into sending me to causeway point,
where i was to meet up with syaz and diana

so i got ready, bought supplies from popular,
had a few of my sister's (she came along too) fries from macdonald's
and met diana
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!
and then met with syaz

decided to catch a movie, before which we had lunch
thought bee movie was out already
:(
but it wasn't, so
we watched Resident Evil!
hahah
yay, an NC 16 movie!
yup, i'm old enough, have been for about 10 months
but it still feels like a novelty
hahah

my word, the movie was quite gory
and all the zombies popping out from nowhere
and the blood
and the horror!
hahah
i thought i'd be covering my eyes throughout the movie
instead, i just sat there with my eyes wide open
staring at the screen with a horrified look on my face
hahah
just couldn't muster the will to close it
it was horrific, yet... so interesting
hahah

ok,
then we didn't want to part so soon
so i suggested we lepak somewhere!
my first time, you know
i'm really such a novice at doing all these typical teenage Malay type of things
but i'm really glad i did it

we went to a nice hill in some woodlands park
and it overlooked some really nice views
but the walk up there...
will you believe that the hill was eye-level with 11/12 storey flats?
and we climbed it from below the level of the flats
hehehe
was seriously out of shape from not having PE for more than a month and a half

but up there...
it was all worth it
(omgosh, this is a seriously long post!)
and it wasn't the mindless type of lepak-ing
where there's nothing to do, or nothing to talk about
no,
it was a chance for the three of us to talk
and
i even got to rehearse my OP speech!
hahah
the opportunist in me couldn't resist the chance to practice
