huh second post of the day
i guess i set the ball rolling with that one

so arsenal played another match today, against portsmouth
and finally won!!!
weee!!!!
1-0, not a big margin, but still relieving

bendtner was flailing his arms and giving the ball away so frequently throught the match, i just have no idea what he's doing there
it's been so long, or so it seems, since an actual striker scored a goal for arsenal in the bpl
really
in the last match, it was midfielder dennilson and diaby that scored goals
and just now, it was gallas- a bleeding defender!
when's arsene going to buy a phenomenal striker? like a christiano ronaldo, or a fernando torres, or a past-era ronaldo!

so word's out that arsene's looking to buy xabi alonso
which i know will be such a blow to dan
believe me, if i supported liverpool, i would never let loose my grip on xabi
the last time round, arsene didn't want to pay the 17 million pounds that liverpool wanted
they offered 14 million instead
hopefully this time round an actual deal will be drawn out

you know what i think arsenal needs?
two sagnas and two clichys in the back
at least one fabrgeas in the center
and at least one henry out front
and someone decent for goalkeeper
haha
fina's fantasy team
why not throw in an aaron ramsey to keep the team looking pretty?

did you see the save sagna made last friday during the villa game?
phenomenal!
sagna's really indispensible nowadays; the only one who seems to know what to do in the back four
almunia the keeper was already beaten at the goalpost- meaning he was in one area in front of the goal, while the ball was heading another and had passed him already
and just at the line, the all-important line that determines a goal, sagna does this amazingly acrobatic kick backwards into the air to clear the ball
supersaver it was
he's an angel

arsenal, buy someone soon! please!

midnight walks... the last to leave the bar... counterfeit arsenal jersey... fabregas pin-up...

=================================================

words to describe my holiday?
i only need one: eventful
although i didn't get to go to the themepark, cos i was the only one game enough, i still had fun

there's always shopping to be done
i bought a few things, mainly the cheaper items
like the jersey! this season's jersey!
and i've worn it out once already!
and a few bags, a few pairs of shoes, mascara, mac blusher...
just the normal stuff

there's one thing different about shopping in malaysia compared to singapore
it's so fun pretending you have loads of money in your bank account (read: i have none haha)
and going into guess and braun buffel and all that as if you really intend to buy something
i can't really do that in singapore; i'm not brave enough on home turf
but there -ahaha!- it's a blank slate
anything goes!

so it appears i have been a little (or a lot) lazy these past few days to post anything
i had to contend with fever and flu for the first two and last two nights of the trip
but that's okay; i didn't prevent any major outings from taking place

i watched spirited away with pat and dan at dan's house the day after i got back
her mum bought us fabulous tasting chicken rice

and yesterday was spent cycling (and teaching my sis how to do so) at east coast park
so fun
and we're doing it again on january first!

i really haven't enjoyed enough of my holidays to start work yet
but i have to earn some money somehow
so i sent in my application for my old job yesterday
hope i really get it! the deadline's on 1st jan

twilighting with pat soon
can't wait! i so want to dissect the story again...

tomorrow's gym and movie day with sis
hope we wake up on time...
i've been going to sleep at 4.30 am these last few days
and waking up at the appalling time of 1 pm...

my dad wants me to sign up for driving lessons only after we've moved!
that's so far away!...
i want a license ASAP just so i can start cruising around singapore
and not have to worry about missing the last bus and all that!

ah well. every umbrella's got a different handle. (really? i could have sworn my umbrella has sister umbrellas all with the same handle)

p.s. call me out anytime for anything!
i want to spend my last moments of freedom doing fun stuff

okay, final post before i'm off
i don't know why i've been blogging sooo much lately
maybe to make up for not blogging again till next thursday

so i managed to make through the night without sleeping
changed the blogskin and song
(i thought it was just another christmas song, until i realised that the singer understood me:
what the heck is a partridge, and i do think it's a "terrible [gift] to get" haha)
woke up the whole family on time
got to eat my first and final mega mcgriddles breakfast
and soon i'll be on my way, with a headache, runny nose and heavy eyelids
yup

totally holiday mood
haha
but i've brought five books with me
so all will be well

till next time
and -only read this on the 25th- merry christmas!

fin*
on a rare spontaneous whim, my parents have decided to leave for vacation one day early
yup
just today

so now i'm on a scramble to wash all the clothes i'd meant to bring with me but hadn't packed
and we don't have a room to stay in as of yet
just gonna leave it up to fate (haha) if there're any hotel rooms available in kl
if not, well, there's always my mother's many malaysian relatives

i guess i'd better change my blogskin to the christmas one by tonight
probably after i've finished packing and all
cos i usually never go to sleep anyways, before travelling
just so that i can be the one to wake everyone up on time
i can always sleep during the car ride

so i'll see ya'll after christmas then
!!!! (= !!!!

my brother got second in the 110m hurdles at the asean university games
against a freakin' 25 year old
yay
i never even knew there was such a competition...
the article was in today newspaper: http://www.todayonline.com/articles/292951.asp
and he's got another race soon

good luck bro (=

watch this fabulous dude
just because (=

i couldn't resist!

yesterday was super fun!
with a great many many many thanks to syaz and diana and the former's cousin and the latter's sister
=)

the day started with me heading out for a birthday surprise thing
i had no clue where i was going
(the only clues came in the form of "sun", "green", and "weather")

i was in the dark about the whole thing
until we reached the destination: west coast park
picnic!!!
and the rain had stopped pouring by then

a super duper satisfying lunch, and then a roll around the playground
which gave me rope burns
but exercise much needed!

and yes, i brought along my famous straw hat
but it is very useful, you know!

thanks, ya'll!

and today i got the hair fixed for free
yay!
it isn't exactly like the ones before, because of the dye-induced dryness, i think
but it's a lot more manageable and straighter

and guess what?
money has fallen into my spendthrift-y hands
$200!
from a good progress progress from mp hawazi daipi!
i have no idea what i progressed in during jc
but -hey- thanks so much!
hahaha
so i'm not as broke as i think!

anyways, anybody wanting to take driving lessons with me?
i'm a wuss, i know, for not wanting to go alone
haven't totally decided yet, though, on what vehicle i'd like to steer
my dad offered me his car if i decide to learn how to drive one
said he'd take a straight bus to work from bedok next year
i hope so!
then i'd have a car
how cool would that be?!

i watched twilight today!
i loved the fact that i was watching someone else's interpretation of twilight
but i seriously was grousing over the flow of the movie throughout the whole thing
it's directed by catherine hardwicke
and i don't think i like her shaky directing much... (i'm sorry!)
some parts were just so awkwardly placed
and the succession of scenes sometimes seemed too disconnected
and... some parts weren't fully developed
i guess as a fan and a movie-goer, twilight didn't live up to my originally very high expectations

one good point, though, were the glimpses into the private moments of bella and edward
them just talking and spending time together.
even though you don't really know what they're talking about,
you can still feel that at that moment, they're each other's most precious thing in the world

now i still can't wait for new moon!!!

robert pattinson redeemed himself in my eyes
i thought he was too ugly from the start
but his crazy chemistry with kristen stewart made him look hot
(even though i still maintain that his face is oh-so-weird)
(and his singing in "bella's lullaby" is undecipherable; he sounds stoned or drunk!)

i like kristen stewart
i like the fact that she understood bella's outwardly awkwardness
in the novel, bella was never the most social of people
nor was she supposed to be a phenomenal beauty
definitely not the bouncy chirpy kind of person that more people seem to have expected...
and again, the chemistry! sizzling!
haha

let's see, who else is left out...

rosalie: i still believe that nikki reed is not flawless enough to pull that character off

emmett: is darn hot! and totally fits the character in the novel!

jasper: jackson rathbone seemed... zombie-ish. i didn't understand it, until i realised that even being around humans in school must be hard for him

alice: is so adorable! i like her!

carlisle: he looks a bit weird; not model-ish enough? but still believable in his role

esme: really proved me wrong. i thought she wasn't motherly enough, but i now know she is

james: is pure evil hotness. too bad cam gigandet will only be in this movie

laurent: not much impression of him

victoria: wasn't evil- or powerful-looking enough. she looks so tame! and where's he flaming red hair?!

jacob black: i'm in team jacob! but i agree that taylor lautner won't be able to pull him off for new moon... not enough raw power

embry: is so freakin' cute! wayyyy cuter than jacob in this movie, at least

billy black: was born to play this role

charlie swan: is likable

eric: is... asian. typical weird dude.

mike: has beautiful eyes!

jessica: is so freaking annoying!

angela: seems nice...

tyler: barely knew who he was throughout the movie; i kept wondering who that kid who nearly hit bella was...

and that's all i can think of

hahaha

so tomorrow is rest day
thursday, i hope, will be gym day
and friday is holi-day!

happy holidays, people!
i'll be making a special occasion christmas blog skin
just because i have the perfect song for this season
(=

fin*

p.s. edward's sparkling kinda sucked!
i thought the rays would bounce off him, like a truckload of diamonds and rainbows
but he just glittered
so bleh

Sunday, December 14, 2008

the past few days have been crazy!

went gym-ing with pat on thursday, which was fun
we ventured only momentarily into the male-infested weights side of the gym, but eventually wandered back into the more female-friendly bike area
i lost my legs that night
really really sore, so much that it felt like i had somebody else's legs with me

i went to rebond my hair friday afternoon
didn't work so well; the lousy just-arrived-from-china assistant didn't put the chemical thing on my hair properly
so two-thirds (right and back) of my hair is still kinda frizzy-ish
darn
but tomorrow or tuesday, i'll go fix it with the hairdresser
i hope.

and that night, we went out!
didn't have to pay for my dinner (thanks pat!!!)
which was probably what gave me a stomachache for two days after

and joel came, even if only for a while
and gave me a balloon that i named roel

keed gave me a radiohead album, of all things
i still haven't mustered up the will to listen to it
but soon; just give me time
hahaha

so after dinner keed, dan, steph, pat and me went out,
me with the radiohead thing and steph's sunflower,
while roel was handled by keed and pat
and an incident happened which shall be kept a five-way secret forEVER!
although i did manage to do something i never thought i'd do...
but nobody else shall know of it.
nobody.
no.

anyways, dan and i slept over at pat's place
so fun
my parents should allow me to do this more often!
breakfast was a traditional coffeeshop one, with both me and pat leaving the uncooked soft-boiled eggs mostly untouched

we re-met for yiqi's birthday class surprise at holland v
(even though yiqi wasn't all that surprised, haha)
i feel really, really, sorry that a few classmates couldn't make it there
it would have been that much more fun!
and cold rock ice creamery sells rocking ice-cream!!

then dan, pat and i were off to ikea!
to shop for more room stuff by taking photos of things we like
seriously, i would happily move into any ikea store, as long as it has running water and food
seriously!
or at least, hire an ikea designer to change the designs of all my rooms every four months

lunch at outlet-galore mall, anchorpoint, where we had kfc
and then back home

and now here i am, too lazy to do anything else at home
or even change my (and even my sister's) blog skin

till next time
fin* who is officially, in more ways than one, 18 years old

p.s. do all of us really look 18 already?
cos i swear now nobody asks for our ICs anymore except at the arena on prom night
i don't think we look any different than usual
strange...

I LOVE AARON RAMSEY!

bad news #1: arsenal lost 2-0 to porto
(but they fielded a team of mostly teenagers!
aaron's 17, jack wilshere's 16, kieran gibbs is 19, mark randall is 19, i think, etcetera)

bad news #2: fabregas wants to leave arsenal
(not right now- only when his contract ends in 2014
then he wants to move back to spain and play for his barcelona)

but among all the bad news, i still love arsenal!
the youngsters may not have been cohesive together today
(and i stayed up till 5.40 just for them!)
but i caught the whiff of potential in their air

like aaron, who attempted two shots, one of which was a scissor kick, and showed some fancy footwork to retain possesion

and jack, who's not afraid to tackle, and is so fearless and confident on the pitch

belief!

i will try almost anything at least once
(unless it has something to do with eating;
then, i'm not so adventurous)

so now, the latest crazy idea that i have for post "A" levels
is skydiving!!!
yea!!!
and the perfect time and place to attempt this
is in melbourne next year
i've researched where, and how to do it there
and the price (around SGD350) is quite reasonable
i'm so excited!!

might as well put all my plans in a list:

#1- get a job paying at least $1000 monthly
#2- apply for a motorcycle license, or a double motorcycle and car license
#3- shop at ikea for all my furniture and stuff
#4- save up money to buy a dslr camera
#5- visit my cousins in melbourne for a whole month (or at least two weeks)
#6- maybe travel the rest of australia while i'm there?
#7- skydiving!!!!
#8- bungee jumping! something else i've so wanted to try since young

wow, that is a lot!
and very expensive, hence the desire for a 1k paycheck every monthly
obviously, i'm working not for the future, but for me to spend on myself
pretty hedonistic a lifestyle
but i'm still young!
i should skydive while i've still got all my teeth and gumption!

live for the day!

hmm the last post seemed very very mysterious
but it's nothing controversial at all
just the fact that i wanted more independence in the choice of furniture being used for my new bedok room
the result of which is me offering to pay for everything except for the wardrobe.

yup

no worries!

today has been filled with activities
and began with me waking up at 8 am, to pick up my new passport at ica
i waited an hour, before deciding to take a little trip to bedok
to explore, pick up three library books and have a happy meal and choc mcflurry brunch
yum!
then i rushed back down to ica (thank goodness i missed my queue number by just a few people)

the next phase of the day:
project ben and jerry's
((=
met pat at dhoby ghaut, and then accidentally met jeremy and rachel ds
and off to fort canning in the blazing heat to line up for an hour, during which it rained, and got nine scoops of the american flavours

surprisingly enough, we got sick of ice cream

watched a quartet of crazy rugby-built guys finish off twenty scoops of ice-cream in like 15 seconds
disgusting it was, watching them dig in with their hands
but hey, whatever works, right?

and now, phase three is me ooff to my uncle's house to partake in a feast in celebration of one of the most beautiful ceremonies of all time: circumcision
haha

uggh
i think i'll fall sick from food and rain...

i just gave my parents a scare, by making them think that i blogged about something they don't want the whole world to know.

i don't feel guilty.

SAJC Prom 2008 is officially over.
Not all pics are here.

Words to describe prom:
stiff cardboard hair
complaint-fraught (I'm sorry I was quite critical yesterday!)
Keed's shoulder pads
sexy, (probably) expensive gowns (Diana and Monique)

The Halal food, served separately, was unimpressive.
(Everyday food that my mum cooks better).

(Why do I sound so bitter?!!)
I did have fun! So much fun!
Because I was surrounded by friends,
and we were all dressed to the nines!
And there were a lot of funny moments!
Gosh, I'm such a complaint monger!
I'm sorry!

Steph, Dan, Pat and Fina

Four-inch heels?
(Haha) We could barely walk to where the Post-Prom Party was at the Arena.
(About that... we took off our heels and walked!)
Not that I could get in, being 12 days short of my 18th birthday.
Dang!
And those mega-huge bouncers were damn scary!
(And funny, the way they take ten million years to scrutinise every card)

Mok tried his hardest to work out the kinks, being organiser and all,
because both Nadrah and I were stuck outside.
(In the end I gave my ticket to Jaime)
It's okay Mok; we appreciate it!
So after Dan, Steph and Pat had drinks inside, they came back out to hang around the 17 year old.
Thanks guys, now I feel so bad!

Nothing else was open at 1 am
besides this pub with dirty jokes on a screen.
One drink for everyone
(Pat's and mine were mocktails- of course)
and we were chased out because the bar closed at 2.

A walk across the bridge,
a fruitless roam around the mini-7/11
a 4 dollar taxi ride,
and soon we were back at Furama.
(Home Sweet Home)

Our room

More pictures in Dan's camera!

Is it weird that I had more fun in the hotel room than at prom or post-prom?
Hahah
Just me, I guess.

We should have sleepovers more often!
